And who can forget Legend Of Concubine's Daughter Minglan. Literally the best slice of life chinese historical transmigration story. Think To Be A Virtuous Wife, but starting from age 6. Very very realistic issues and actions - though no romance for a while. Corpse Ruler confuses the world also has an interesting take: Mc transmigrates into a matriarchal world! Though there is some cultivation, so far romance is the focus.
Oh I've heard of Minglan, Zhao Liying's casted in the drama for it, but is the novel any good? How's the male lead in it?
It wasn't even the Ice Block that got me. It was just that so many characters were making the MC's life hell for petty reasons. Granted I didn't make it too far, but it seemed unlikely to change and the "victories" the MC got were more like preventing the others from "beating" her in most cases. It just made me so frustrated reading it that I wanted the MC to poison everyone but the Imperial Physician and that military family to death. She just gets so much shit constantly. Also, I edited the former post a little. Didn't realize the first paragraph was messed up, added links, added one more recommendation.
tbh that's one of the main problems in all female transmigration novels, the MC's life is bitter hell for 3 thousand chapters and enemies keep popping left and right, sometimes I wish the FL could just kill everyone because somehow everyone has a problem with her.
In most of them, the MC gets some down time or pretty significant victories throughout the novel. It just feels like Yunxi goes straight from "barely scraping by" into another terrible situation immediately in PGC. She gets victories, but aside from like that first meeting with Murong they tend to be rather small. It's a good novel, I just can't handle the frustration from how much life hates her. I'm sure the payoff when she gets back at them all is amazing.
