It is not chinese, but "My Fiancé is In Love With My Little Sister" is a angsty historical josei. When say angsty, I mean it. It has a very infuriatingly tragic plot. But it's worth a read because of the beautiful translation and flow.

Seconding The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage for great historical face-slapping and great romance. I'm also suggesting Sansheng, Wangchuan Wu Shang for the romance. It's not straight up historical but it has those fantasy historical vibes.
Bu Bu Jing Xin Ballad of the Desert Song in the Clouds My favorites in this genre are still the Tong Hua novels. They really changed my mind about the Romance genre, and I've yet to see anything top them. These books are even proper historical novels so that's an added bonus. They even have good male love interests.
