Don't worry, this one is extremely well-written. The author has planned everything down to the ending (will end around 2021). There's no romance, but it's a bit gory though.

hmm... this has no magic whatsoever. it is a typical zombie apocalypse that has zombies with little to no variants. mc is a zombie with sentience. it has no memories but knows one thing that if it doesn't eat brains, it will become brainless like the rest of its kind. It makes plans and attacks human camps with ingenious schemes and with element of surprise.

 

I know I shouldn't dissect novels like this, they don't have to be believable but.
IT MAKES NO SENSE FOR A ZOMBIE TO EXIST. Either there is some magical/system related thing or it's absolutely stupid from the get go. Muscles with no oxygen lock and die quite quickly, no blood flow, no energy intake means no energy and the body doesn't move. Let's not get into the whole brain rot and why should it brains because it's plain stupid.
I know way too much about the human body to be able to enjoy a "realistic" zombie anything (The Walking Dead also another absolute shitstorm for me).
Also fun fact. Zombies come from Haiti and voodoo which in turn came from REAL neurotoxins from a REAL fish that could induce a fake death state from which one could come back. The rotted muscles and eating brains came from Hollywood.

 

well @earthdrake I don't look so deep into zombie books so i enjoyed it....if you are in it for realism then I don't know any that actually has realistic zombies......

 

RANT WARNING.
Actually I have a problem with "realistic" zombies. Unrealistic zombies are ok because the premise is also unrealistic. Say, for example, Bringing the Farm to Another World, the premise is unrealistic but it makes sense (sort of) within the story, dude makes zombies through magic so yeah no problem. Interdimensional Garbage Merchant also has an explanation on the why the zombies work, same as many others. Hell even if you don't explain it and don't try to make it realistic or rational (because it isn't) is all good.
Now a "realistic" story will tell you that a zombie plague just came (because of reasons) and will try to make everything rational but a zombie is inherently irrational, even worse if you try to say "Hey MC is a rational thinking zombie in a perfectly logical world". The premise is flawed from the get go.

TLDR: Yeah either fantasy zombies or no zombies.

 

.....okay tbh I don't know what to say rn as while I do understand what you are trying to say, I read zombie apocalypse books not because I want to understand why they are here but more so about what changes they bring about with their presence. I like reading these as human nature is revealed as good people turn bad and bad ones turn into monsters........and despair and hopelessness as ppl face unending hordes without any purpose other than surviving.

you could check out war truck in apocalypse as mc there does research and the story is set right after apocalypse and its more like 2012 but immediately after.

I find fantasy zombies a bit lackluster as there are almost always never important or influence the world like in modern setting. Though I do enjoy reading stuff if they are set in medieval semi industrial worlds like say attack on titan (not really zombies tho) or better yet kabaneri of iron fortress.

Yes, but there was a moment where he just asked gaia for skill and it told what skill was and then he just bought it( I think it was spirit companions or speech skill, do not remember)...I was like: wtf, he can do that?!
I mean it's not a bad novel but this moment kinda sucked.

Mother of Learning and Randidly Ghosthound are sooo much better.

Author is not a native English speaker. If you can get past the many grammatical and spelling errors, you will find that the author has solid ideas for a VRMMORPG story. I heard someone have cleaned up the earlier chapters.

Too bad the story has not been updated for 4 years.
