I actually like the usual protagonist. Brilliant in skills, but dense in love.

It depends on the story, its not like you can place a cold calculating type in a slice of life comedy or a mary sue in a psychological tragedy

well, if talking about in general, those with no bs type , prideful but not arrogant and clearly knows how to use his brain. most importantly, being an alpha towards his women, unlike those in usual jp harem protagonists.

I like most protagonist, so it'll be way easier to list what I don't like.

I will drop any story with stoic, cold, better than thou attitude. You know, the one where the author tried so hard to scream "alpha". Most of the time it make people cringe

JN slice of life genre there are times you can feel the character is alive.
    Not those emotionless chuuni,
As for typical CN makes me want shout, curse and slap someone, or I feel like I make a wrong judgment when I see the manga and anime version.

I'm into protagonists which act morally ambiguous, super righteous MCs piss me off cause they're rarely written very well, and down right evil MCs are hard to find.
I guess it gives the author more versatility with how their character can act within their worlds and always makes for a interesting read

Oh! And they have to be male. No female protagonists for me, I find it really awkward and cringy to read from a female pov, which is weird since I'm a girl.

I feel like this is almost like asking "what is the best genre?" Because a different type of protagonist gives like a completely different tone and perspective on the novel, and different types of protagonist have pros and cons and fit different stories.

I think Fang Yuan from Reverend Insanity is a good protagonist, but I don't want every novel I read to be an edge fest. I think our name changing spider friend from Kumo Desu Ga, Nani Ka? is a good protagonist, but i don't want every story to be hijacked by its wacky main character. I think Klein from Lord of the Mysteries is a good protagonist, but some novels would be dull with an mc like him. Etc. Etc.

As pointed out, it depends on the genre and the mood the story's trying to set. I personally like MCs who are really caring, but not to the point that they're total pushovers. Bonus points if they also have a cheeky side to them.
