Reveal that Little Rotten Egg (the Dragon Li cat) is a human. He’d been making cameos in his human form twice before the reveal—both of which were to “help” Han Changsheng win a fight (that he secretly deliberately wanted to lose: First instance was with An Yuan and second one with Lu Wenlang).

The cat snuggled between them at night and they both got the surprise of their lives when the cat transformed come morning (lol they blamed each other internally because they thought that the other brought a stranger to sleep with them in the middle of the night).

Han Changsheng shuddered. (HCS already suspected at this point)

The three men stared at each other, and the air in the room seemed to freeze. After a while, An Yuan broke the silence first: "You are..."

The mysterious man narrowed his eyes and scratched his chin: "I...I am...I passed by here. I think you slept soundly. I was sleepy, so I slept together..."

Additional information about him:

• A cat demon who cultivated for hundreds of years (physically looks like 16 or 17 years old)
• Was the one who fought off HCS when HCS and AY went to sneak in to Yueha at night after the Elder Lan Fang and Old Xuanji died (it’s already translated).
• Was contacted by White and Black Impermanence about AY’s status and to help HCS succeed.
• Wanted to hit AY too when AY’s narcissistic tendencies come out but he bears with it.
• Got hit a lot by HCS for being stupid.
• Easily bribed with food.
• Revealed that HCS has a “Breath of a King” which is actually “Breath of the Demon King”. Since Little Rotten Egg is a demon, he knows what the Demon King’s aura and qi feels like and HCS has exactly that. It’s apparently more stronger than their Demon King even, but HCS doesn’t have demon spirit at all.
• Also revealed that the one who did the Evil Deeds™ like killing AY’s father, behind the massacre of other schools like Xiu Daomen , Linglong, etc. and stole their scripts was none other than Yue Peng. Yue Peng wanted the Longyin sword which was why he wanted HCS and AY found immediately so he could covet it.

15 years ago, the same day that Yue Peng killed AY’s father and prior to that, he was defeated by a child HCS and was very humiliated. HCS was still angered by YP which was why he and HCS’ dad changed path afterwards and should have been rightfully cleared of being the suspect/s.

It was also revealed before chapter 75 (forgot which chapters) when HCS, AY and Liu-shidi were discussing about the evidences that they gathered (connection to AY’s father and the annihilated Xiu Daomen) that the one HCS saw after hours practicing in the dark in the earlier chapters when he went to sneak out to voyeur over AY was in fact, Yue Peng and not Liu-shidi at all.


Will give some detailed spoilers in notable chapters later on. At this point in time, HCS is already planning/scheming how to drag Yue Peng out in the open. Toodles~

 

Detailed Summaries

Chapter 79-81
HCS seals AY’s acupuncture points to let him continue sleeping as he changes his disguise. He goes out to enact the plan and AY opens his eyes because he was just pretending to be asleep. He follows HCS.

HCS attacks Yue Peng in the open, donning the disguise of AY’s father and uses AY’s father’s sword. He says that he didn’t die that day and was recuperating for 10 years or so to finally have revenge. AY, who was following HCS, was shocked at first but eventually sees through the disguise and guesses HCS’ plan.

HCS and Yue Peng fight in the arena with thousands of people watching the show. Yue Peng immediately guesses that this mysterious stranger is not there to kill him but to humiliate him instead (HCS slashes through Yue Peng’s clothes and Yue Peng looks indecent now) and since he’s a proud old man who values his pride more than his life, he does exactly what HCS wants him to do: he uses swordsmanship outside the teachings of Yueha.

Lmao HCS takes off his mask to reveal that he’s not An Yuan’s father but AY himself (double disguise FTW) but then the real AY barges in to support HCS’ claims and HCS is just there, half his AY disguised face already revealed, and Yue Peng got the shock of his life because there’s two AYs now. HCS hurriedly covers his half revealed face with the hat that AY dramatically discarded and asks HCS why he’s there. AY tells him that it’s the matter of his family and not one that HCS should involve himself in.

Lu Honghua (Yulin head) asks AY if he’s the Huangfu son and AY confirms. He turns to HCS to ask for his identity and Lu Wenlin interrupts and introduces HCS as AY’s shixiong, Li Jiulong. AY says that his HCS didn’t kill Elder Lan Fang and the sword was passed on to him legitimately since HCS is Lan Fang’s only disciple, and everyone in the arena remembers that HCS was the one who killed the twins, which Lu Wenlin added that he was defeated by HCS in one move, in two different times. It’s also revealed that the masked fighters who gained popularity in the arena because of their astonishing strength was HCS and AY.

Yue Peng understands he lost and attempts to flee but AY subdues him like a badass. HCS is filled with pride on the sidelines. AY tells the Yulin head to hand down the deserved justice to Yue Peng and the Yulin head agrees, and applauds HCS on the way. HCS internally cries.

HCS leaves the arena with the excuse of his stomach being unwell and AY follows. AY tells HCS when they’re back in their room that AY knows how to separate his hatred and justice so HCS shouldn’t have worried that AY would be overwhelmed when he knew that Yue Peng, who was his adoptive father, was the killer of his real father. He also asks HCS how he knew AY’s father’s real appearance by which HCS waves off, saying he had someone who knew AY’s father draw his portrait and he can’t reveal who it is because he promised not to. AY is suspicious and HCS hurriedly changes his disguise and leaves the room.

HCS returns and he and AY finally FINALLY completes the last hurdle to combine the two internal forces. It seems that AY was not deliberately holding off to combine the two forces because he didn’t want HCS to leave (well, it’s a part of his reason but not the entirety) but because the last step can send HCS into a Qi deviation. AY does it gently but HCS becomes hotter and is in pain, and AY is panicking in worry before he got slammed into the bed.

Chapter 82

HCS wakes up naked attached to a similarly very naked AY. HCS has existential crisis and denies that something happened because something similar happened before, but then all the memories from last night comes back like and he remembers that he ate… AY’s cabbages for the entire night. The idiot leaves in a hurry and AY wakes up all alone, even limping to get himself breakfast because HCS, who should be there and should take care of him, wasn’t there.

He eats downstairs, and since everybody knows about the “Masked Heroes” a.k.a. AY and HCS who disguises themselves with hats, they’re suspicious of all people with hats. A child knocks on AY and removes the hat and everyone in the inn got into a clamor that AY is indeed, staying in that specific inn, so HCS must be nearby too. AY gets overwhelmed and can’t leave because he’s really unwell, but somebody saves him.

Somebody (HCS in another disguise) hides AY, who was burning with fever. AY asks who he is and HCS says he’s a Doctor and he knew AY was ill based on his complexion and AY doesn’t have to thank him and just rest instead.

HCS is filled with guilt just looking at AY and HCS gives him medicine. The wrong medicine. AY becomes comatose from wrong prescription.

Detailed Summaries

Chapter 83-84

Black and White Impermanence wants to beat HCS to death. They also managed to guess that AY’s tribulation may be Love tribulation based on his disaster star that twinkled more brightly even when AY hasn’t been in the spotlight like he should be. HCS might be the partner to this love tribulation and that he and AY may have a deeper connection in their last life/lives despite the fact that HCS has no history in being reincarnated.

HCS finally feeds AY the right medicine and stays vigil in his bedside. He talks to himself how it’d be nice if AY isn’t an immortal because then, HCS could just steal him away to Tianning, but alas, it’s AY’s fate to kill HCS and annihilate Tianning. AY wakes up the next morning and still suspicious of HCS, says that he must return soon. HCS says there’s no need because AY got his bags for him. AY is surprised and comments internally that he just wants to find HCS and ask why. Just when he thought that HCS stayed beside him not just for the internal forces matter, he’s proven wrong because HCS left him right after.

HCS goes down to get food for AY, who says he was hungry, and brings back greasy food because he’s stupid. AY doesn’t want to eat it but he’s forced too and his health worsens. HCS takes care of him while plagued with guilt all day and night for ten days before AY was finally deemed healthy. Both of them goes to the final day of Wulin tournament and HCS gets informed that people has renamed him as the “One-strike Sword God”.

Lu Honghua announces that he’ll be stepping down as Wulin’s leader and has two specific conditions that must be met by the successor: First is to be acknowledged by three important people in the martial arts and Second, is to defeat a Villain or an Evil Cult™ within the span of one year. HCS wants to throw his shoe on that Wulin head and AY sees this Doctor stranger’s anger and gets surprised.

There’s arguments from different schools, and when the event officially ended, HCS asks AY where he’s going. AY asks the same back, and further presses him that is HCS from the Evil Cult? HCS doesn’t deny it and says that he has a terrible older brother (same excuse as when HCS was pretending to be AY’s Shizun) and that his movements are limited. AY owes him now and when time comes, AY must remember it. HCS leaves and AY attempts to stop HCS but he’s still unwell, so he fails.

Chapter 85

AY comes down from the mountain and comes across xiongtai who was collapsed. Xiongtai says when he wakes up that he’s Yue Peng’s enemy because his friend was asked by Yue Peng to kill one whole school and his friend’s hardearned script was stolen by Yue Peng. He says his name is Luo Weiwu and AY says in amusement that there seems to be a popular method of naming recently.

As you can guess, Luo Weiwu is HCS. They come down the mountain together afterwards. AY doubts internally that the doctor, and now this xiongtai may be the missing HCS. They meet someone on the way, someone who recognizes the real Luo Weiwu. This someone has the face of AY’s shizun and was the one who HCS copied the appearance of for the past months. AY is relieved that he finally found his “Shizun” but his “Shizun” doesn’t even spare him a glance.

Hua Xiaoshuang (the face who got used) is an actual person and is a member of Tianning, and he came to the Kunglu mountain to bring back his wayward leader. Luo Weiwu is also an actual person of Tianning and at first, Hua thought HCS was Luo but then realized that he was HCS himself. AY is looking at Hua with murder in his eyes and HCS is sweating in buckets.

HCS tries to give Hua hints and because Hua is both a very sharp and terrible person, he smiles a smile that has HCS hearing alarm bells.

 

Chapter 86

Hua asks AY if he’s alright and that struck a cord to AY who got left behind. Apparently, when he got papapa’d, he’d already realized his feelings towards HCS and he was angry when HCS left without a word. In the past few days, the anger turned into endless worry because maybe something happened to HCS? What if his evil leader found out and brought him back to Tianning forcibly? But now, Hua is standing infront of him with nary a wound and AY is severely pissed because he just got out from that incompetent Doctor’s (torture) care and was sick for days. He says “Okay” very coldly, and the three of them head down the mountain.

(AY also reveals in his thoughts that if HCS would look at someone other than him, he may kill them. Ahhh, yandere vibes~)

HCS gives Hua eye knives along the way and Hua says that the reason he left was because he was unsure, and that he’ll talk to AY at night. HCS and Hua ride together and Hua asks what the hell was HCS doing, sticking with the beauty and leaving his responsibilities. HCS says it’s for Tianning and Hua says that it’s a bullshit excuse and does HCS thinks Hua is stupid? HCS says he hopes that Hua is stupid. They find an inn with 3 available rooms afterwards.

Hua sneaks to AY’s room at night. HCS ducks outside AY’s window to eavesdrop. AY is a jilted lover who asks Hua about his connection to Luo. Hua says Luo is his friend and AY is like, “Just like Doctor Du Shen?” and Hua is shocked because he hasn’t seen Du Shen in months since he also had other missions, how can AY meet him? He realizes that HCS must have used Du Shen’s face too and says “Yes” to AY. He tries to pry what happened that night and AY blurts out a long rant about the things HCS did for him and how he’s not angry at all that HCS did the deed with him.

HCS, who is eavesdropping, is shocked and somewhat relieved. Hua confesses his love to AY and HCS swallows a mouthful of blood because wtf, Hua. Seriously?

 

Chapter 87

AY and Hua finish talking and Hua signals HCS to come talk to him with a knock. HCS voyeurs on AY only to see AY overwhelmed. Hua and HCS come down to talk. HCS tells Hua that why’d he confess for HCS and Hua is pissed at him, tells him why he used Hua’s face instead of others and do those things. Did he want prospect for Hua or what? HCS is surprised and scrambles for a reply. He tells him that it’s for Tianning’s sake and when that didn’t work out because Hua has braincells more than the Lu siblings combined, HCS tells him he wants to become the martial arts lord.

Hua is naturally skeptic because HCS usual worries when he’s in Tianning was what would be for dinner, and so on. He’s not as ambitious. Hua tells him that isn’t it AY that he wants to become the martial lord than HCS himself? HCS is pushed in a corner and lists off the reputation that he (accidentally) accumulated and he only brought AY along with him because of his problems with internal force. Eventually, he managed to convince Hua but Hua affirms that he won’t leave.

AY catches them and there’s really potent vinegar right there, says that Hua and HCS are so close and HCS waves him off. The next day, AY catches them talking in hushed voices several times, and the chapter ends with Hua trying to instigate jealousy by hugging HCS in front of AY and saying that they’re been close since they were little and they know about each other’s bodies. AY lets go of his fruits and HCS and Hua help him pick it up. Hua holds AY’s hand with the fruit and HCS in the sidelines crushes the fruit he was holding into a pulp. AY hurries to go away, and HCS glares at Hua and Hua laughs at his leader’s misfortune.

Chapter 88

The three of them leaves the inn, travels and agrees to sleep outside in the open. Hua baits HCS to find them their dinner and knowing Hua’s intention, HCS tells him why not go by yourself instead. Hua agrees and stands up, and AY also stands up to go with him. HCS is like, okay, us three will go together but AY tells him that he wants to say something private to Hua. Both of them go, and HCS follows after them in secret.

AY confronts Hua about Luo and because Hua is a magnificent piece of sh*t, accuses AY that AY is jealous and if AY liked him, AY should just say so. AY tries to deny but his face is on fire, and HCS, who is eavesdropping once more, is very shookt. AY attacks Hua because he’s suspicious since Hua suddenly changed his attitude and attempts to “unmask” him. No unmasking happened since it’s Hua’s real face but HCS panics in the side and touches his own ear like he’s the one who’s been unmasked. Both return soon after and HCS is already sitting by the camp. AY gives him animals to roast.

AY leaves for the stream and HCS and Hua discusses again. Hua says it’s only natural that he’d use what HCS has given him to his advantage because he’s still angry. Some background story for Hua (he was the one who was supposed to leave Tianning and get rich according to the Impermanence, apparently) and when AY returned, Hua was the one to leave this time in the pretense of picking up firewood.

AY asks HCS about Hua, and HCS tells him Hua is a good person and he likes AY very much. Internally, HCS admits that he doesn’t want AY to like Hua at all, but externally, he continues to rain Hua with praises. AY is shocked and tells HCS that Hua changed. HCS tells him that their cult leader has a medicine that can forget people which is why the cult members are always so fickle. AY is shocked because a medicine like that exists? Hua, who is eavesdropping on them, is also shocked for the same reason and wonders wtf their head was playing at. Why is he making a goddamn conspiracy??

HCS stands up and says he’ll find Hua who hasn’t been back with the firewood yet. Hua panics and leaves before he got caught.

Chapter 89

The three of them travel to where the Shadow Moon Gate (another evil school) and are surprised to see Yunxiao school there already. Both HCS and AY recognize the two people there who HCS beat to teach them a lesson (after the twins fiasco, to refresh all your memories) and Hua asks AY if he knows them? AY turns to Hua suspiciously, and HCS says that “Don’t you remember that they’re the ones you beat before, brother? Didn’t you say that to me?”

AY guesses the school is there so that their head can get the Wulin head position. They retreated and when it’s nightfall, HCS catches AY awake and looking at the direction where Yunxiao members are staying at. HCS asks what’s the matter and AY points out that they’re being infiltrated. They watch for a while, and when those who infiltrated (assassins from the Shadow Moon Gate) decided to finally attack, AY helps them. Hua looks at HCS for a cue and HCS shakes his head no, and let AY deal with it instead. The assassin are revealed to be beasts/animals, controlled by someone in the Shadow Moon Gate. Someone gets the hint that AY is in their way and points all the beasts attention to AY.

Chapter 90

AY is overwhelmed by the beasts and this time, HCS jumps in to help. Then suddenly, two of the beasts turns on the other beasts and protects HCS and AY instead. Everybody is stunned and somebody accuses that HCS is the one who’s controlling the beasts. HCS defends himself by saying that he’s obviously there to help and if he wasn’t, then all the people of Yunxiao would be dead. The beasts retreat but those two beasts prostrate themselves at HCS’ feet first before leaving. AY reveals his identity and the Yunxiao people are shocked and arrives to a conclusion that AY must be there for the same reason as them. The Yunxiao head finally speaks, and it’s belittling to the point that HCS snapped back. Yunxiao people are triggered but HCS only sneers at them and leaves with AY in tow.

AY is suspicious again because the former Hua who he knows and Luo has the same exact intention of making him into a martial arts lord. In fact, he was convinced that Luo is Hua until Hua suddenly appeared in front of them. They go to the forest where they heard the flute, and they find Hua fighting the beasts and the man who was controlling them. Hua is already injured and screams at them both to come and help him.

HCS manages to subdue the man, and the man turned out to be the middle-aged guy with the horses fiasco that HCS helped before. Hua is like “Who is this guy?” to HCS and HCS says he met him once. AY looks at them both strangely. HCS says to the guy that he thought the guy genuinely loves animals and the guy had a pained expression at the accusation, which further increased when the two animals which defended HCS and AY before rubbed their head on HCS’ legs adoringly.

Chapter 91

The man begged to let the beasts go when he surrenders and Hua baits him by saying that after he kills the man, he’ll eat the beasts next. The man attacks Hua and HCS stops the attack. Like how the Lu siblings’ menacing “interrogation”, Hua asks the man about his connection to the Shadow Moon Gate. AY feels weirded out on the side because the Hua he knows is not as devilish as this. Further inquiry reveals that the man’s name is Ronnie and he was forced to do the bidding of the Shadow Moon Gate because of his ability. Ronnie asks HCS if he can talk to animals like he does, and HCS says “No”, and Ronnie finds it strange because the animals are more docile around HCS than Ronnie himself, who could communicate to them.

Ronnie reveals the hierarchy of the Shadow Moon Gate, composed of three levels. First level is composed of ten people, which acts as the leaders, Second level is composed of thirty people, and Third level is composed of hundred or more people whom are easily replaceable. Ronnie is one of the ten leaders, and the three decided to strike at the rest of the leaders to abolish the hierarchy. They return back to rest first, and AY asks Hua about the Longyin sword, to which Hua was stunned because he didn’t know HCS has the sword at all. Hua says something vague to AY and leaves to follow HCS who went ahead.

 

Chapter 92

All ten first-levels of Shadow Moon Gate got gathered the next morning and the leader, Li Tao, appears. Li Tao, who is HCS in disguise, massacres them all except for Ronnie. HCS killed Li Tao first and summoned the rest, paralyzing them using the incense that Liu Xiaoqi (Liu-shidi) gave. The three leaves, but before that, HCS reminds Ronnie about what he told Ronnie previously (which is to spread that An Yuan was the one who killed the heads) and Ronnie agrees even though he found it strange. HCS gives the rest of the heads’ tokens to Hua and AY afterwards. They return to the inn while Hua goes somewhere separate to carry out another task.

AY notes that HCS skill in disguise and swordsmanship are very good (and very familiar uh-huh), to which HCS replies nervously that they (he and Hua) came from the same cult, so it’s only natural. HCS has him carry a wooden box and pushes him inside the dining area of a teahouse, where the rest of the martial artists were gathered. AY comes in and somebody mocks him. HCS arrives later in another disguise, points the wooden box that’s starting to ooze with blood and swiped it from AY’s hands. Inattentive, AY is surprised when the wooden box revealed the Shadow Moon Gate’s leader, Li Tao’s severed head. HCS supports the identity and everybody in the teahouse gets into a clamor that AY killed the Shadow Moon gate’s head.

Chapter 93

AY is surrounded by the martial artists, asking him how he did it. HCS points out that there’s a bag hanging out in AY’s waist, to which AY opens and it revealed all the tokens of the ten heads. The questions intensifies and AY stuffs everything back and walks out. HCS also walks out. Back at the inn, HCS and Hua are discussing Hua’s task, and Hua replies positively before AY barges in on them, asking to speak with Hua. HCS wants to come with and AY shoots him down. Both AY and Hua leaves.

Hua advices AY to go further if he doesn’t want to be eavesdropped on, and when they’re far enough, AY asks Hua to “learn from him”. Because Hua is a bit of an idiot who can’t read AY’s intentions, he happily whips out his sword and they battle. It takes two moves for AY to finally have his confirmation that the Hua he knew is not the Hua in front of him. He clarifies this, and Hua’s previous vague words were repeated because Hua has apparently been hinting at AY for so long already that he’s not the same person as his Shizun.

An Yuan asks him of their intentions and Hua is like, “I was just passing by” and washes his hands clean on the matter like a champ. They return back to the inn where an extremely anxious HCS is waiting. Hua says he’ll be leaving the next day and HCS asks why, and is filled with suspicion. Hua says he has matters to attend to. AY also says he’ll be leaving, back to Yueha. HCS says he’ll come with and AY is like, “Why?” and HCS says he wants to see the Yueha school. Hua laughs and leaves, and before HCS leaves too, AY asks him about the Yinlong sword. Afraid that his identity has been found out, HCS says, “What sword?” AY kicks him out.

AY knows by now that Luo is in fact, HCS and he’s afraid that if he exposes HCS, HCS would run away again and return with a new identity. AY knows that HCS’ disguises are based on real life people and now, he finally caught HCS’ true self. AY touches his butt and claims for revenge. The next morning, Hua leaves before them, and AY asks HCS how long he’s planning to stay this time. HCS is confused and stunned and AY snorts at him before walking away. HCS follows him.

Chapter 94

They both travel again and the silence is suffocating. AY is giving HCS the cold shoulder but stares at HCS when HCS has his attention turned elsewhere. AY’s horse steps on a beast trap and is rapidly dying, and they still had to travel for 2 days in horseback. AY is happy with this development and turns deaf to HCS’ pleas. AY attempts to leave him until HCS is screaming at him to let him ride with him. AY looks at him nonchalantly and says that he’ll let HCS ride with him if HCS can defeat him in two strikes. AY doesn’t get his consent and attacks HCS promptly.

HCS is cursing Hua in his heart and restraining himself, afraid that he’ll show AY his true abilities. AY loses his cool, abandons his sword and reaches behind HCS’ ear instead to unmask HCS. HCS managed to defend on time, and asks AY what he’s doing, to which AY replies that he “missed”. AY rides his horse again and HCS is more skeptical this time. AY mentions that it’ll rain soon and HCS is like, “You’ll let me ride with you?” AY urges him to hurry up instead.

HCS and AY are pressed very close, and AY is berating himself for being impulsive. He just really wanted to see who is behind that mask who has disguised so many in front of AY and to find out what HCS’ real purpose is. There’s no one who is as good at disguises as HCS is.

HCS tightens his hold on AY and regrets that he can’t hold AY like before anymore. If only he could remember that night and be more gentler, is what he’s thinking before he loosens his hold again. He also smells AY like a creep. AY, for the entire ride, is filled with mixed emotions. They arrived in an intersection and HCS stops AY from going to the left road, and points the right road instead. He tells AY that there’s a town nearby the left road and they could buy a horse there since the saddle isn’t big enough for them and his butt hurts. AY’s expression darkens and he rejects the idea.

Both roads can lead to Yueha apparently, but the right one has the shortest distance. They meet a fallen old man by the road who is ill, and HCS jumps at the opportunity to help the old man so they can go to the left road and to town. Since AY is a good person who cares for other people, he agrees.

Chapter 95

They find out that the old man is pretending to be sick along the road and he demands solver from them both. AY becomes angry and attempts to leave the stinking old man after checking his pulse, which was healthy, and HCS panicked, says something inspiring and that they really should drop off the old man on a Doctor. AY agrees even when the old man starts blathering about ruining their reputation. HCS internally plots the old man’s death in the recesses of his brain.

The moment they stepped into town, the old man suddenly regains his strength and tells everyone who could hear that both of them are thieves because they stole the old man’s horse and his silvers. They get surrounded by angry townsmen and AY fends them off and tries to explain themselves. HCS glares at them all coldly because his plan to get a horse was ruined and it caused AY trouble instead. AY removes his straw hat and the townsmen instantly recognizes him. AY grabs HCS and turns back, away from the town.

Chapter 96

HCS convinces him to take the old man to a doctor and if he’s not ill, then HCS and AY are not lying. They have a clear conscience, and turning away would only make them look like they’re the guilty party. They take the old man to a doctor, and the doctor says the old man is healthy. AY gives the old man a silver and tells him not to trick others again. The old man is a good actor and denies the accusation. Both of them goes to find another horse afterwards but the post is filled with people who are buying horses too and the only ones left are the sickly ones. HCS want to kill them all and get the horse, but doesn’t dare because AY is beside him.

The old man who just do not get the hint follows them and still dares to point his finger at them for being thieves. Few believes the old man and the old man further claims that the other may be AY but the one beside him is from the evil cult. Both AY and HCS freeze, and HCS is panicking because how did the old man know? AY knows about it and his view of Tianning has been changed for some time by HCS and now he doesn’t know what to do.

There’s an elaborate ploy using cigarettes that only people who knows about martial arts should have known and HCS reconsiders that the old man may not just be an old man at all. When the cigarette smoke turns red, then he’s from an evil cult, but HCS already cut off some part of the cigarette and the smoke comes out as yellow. The old man is still calm and he says to wait, and right after, men in black clothes with swords came and regards HCS as their master.

 

Chapter 97

Lmao One of the men in black turned to have a high martial arts and suspicion from townsmen grew. HCS suppresses the crowd and the men in black, not caring if AY would recognize him anymore. He defends that the smoke wasn’t red, but yellow and were all of them color blind? Also the man was so ugly, Tianning only accepts handsome people according to rumors. Who the hell said evil cult members were ugly? Jfc HCS’ pride got hit hard. HCS continues his rants and it ends with the fact that the evil cult only accepts smart people lol. Somebody in the crowd asks them how did they manage to kill the Shadow Moon Gates’ heads then and HCS tells them that they’re just jealous and those heads were very weak like an ant for him.

The old man laughs and claps his hand and the men in black stops and pulls away. At this point, the townsmen were already cued that the old man was the perpetrator. They try to apprehend them but the old man is fast and very flexible. HCS and AY is shocked. The old man gets away and HCS tells AY that “You’re waiting here” and he gives chase.

HCS manages to corner the old man and the old man revealed that everything is a test. He tested HCS’ bottom line again and again and even when HCS was angered, he didn’t lash out violently, he still sent the old man to the hospital even knowing the old man’s apparent schemes, and only said nothing but the truth. The old man is revealed to be Beihu and is one of the 3 martial arts expert who has the authority to choose the next Wulin head. “Li Jiulong” is one of the candidates and the old man leaves after giving HCS a token of honor, saying that there’s other candidates that he must test but he has high hopes for HCS. HCS chuckles and despairs for his inability to push AY to the spot of Wulin head.

Chapter 98

HCS returns back to where he left AY and AY asks who the old man was. Did he know him? HCS says No, very strongly. AY further adds that is he really (the cult leader)? And HCS reacted explosively that no, of course there’s no way! AY is stunned into silence and HCS waves it off and they rent two rooms to stay in. AY attempts to unmask HCS again in the middle of the night and HCS slaps the hand away while pretending to be asleep. Come morning, they now have two horses, both of which were sent by the old man, according to the innkeeper. AY asks HCS for clarification and HCS replies that maybe the old man became guilty.

They ride, and HCS expects the 2 martial arts experts to make an appearance soon and was proven right. The next expert is Feng Lai Ren who is undefeated when drunk, and unlike Beihu who tests the candidates’ virtue, Feng tests the ability itself. HCS and AY try to convince each other to give it a try and they both agree that they’ll try. Only one person is allowed in the valley each so AY enters first and he loses. AY returns back to HCS and HCS is slightly disappointed, but he accepts it and he goes in next.

Chapter 99

HCS fights the drunken man but his approach is a lot more different than AY. He wasn’t there to win, after all so he doesn’t introduce himself at all, which comes off as rude. He just dodges, parries, and when he’s done, he leaves, making the drunken man conflicted. The last expert (a woman named Huayue) visits him after HCS left and the drunken man conveys his reaction and says that AY is a little worse and HCS is inexplicable.

HCS and AY sleep in the wilderness and when AY wakes up, HCS is long gone and left him a note that says that AY should proceed to the next town, HCS will meet him there because HCS forgot something and has to turn back. As usual, HCS is lying and he has already disguised himself as AY and came back to the drunken man’s valley for a retest. Huayue Niang is also there and drools at HCS’s appearance. Huayue Niang advises him to come back another day since the drunken master is at his strongest currently but HCS doesn’t listen since he’s eager to get it over with and come back to AY.

HCS and Feng Lairen fight for the second time, and this time their fight is raw and is brimming with power. HCS wins and Feng gives him his token of honor. Huayue also gives him hers, and at first, HCS is confused because who is this girl? But then Huayue says something more about how he would be a great leader for Wulin and HCS realizes that he’s the 3rd martial arts expert. Her qualifications is apparently beauty in bloodbath which HCS had her accused in his mind as a nympho girl with a beauty pageant fetish. HCS leaves to catch up to AY.

Chapter 100 – Drunken Confession + Kiss + Face Reveal + Potential 2nd papapa Chapter

HCS goes to a stream along the way to the next town to change his disguise and gets side tracked just looking at AY’s face in the water. When he managed to catch up to AY, he’s a bit dodgy, and he gave the first token to AY as a gift, and had the second token which is alcohol drank by both of them. POV shifts to AY and AY is uneasy by the suspicious acts but doesn’t comment. They drink the wine and HCS asks him what he plans to do after Yueha. AY, panicking after thinking that HCS may be planning on leaving him, says that won’t HCS come with him? HCS says yes, and AY breathes in relief. AY says he plans on handing down his knowledge to the rest of the Yueha and HCS tells him he’s a really good person and will AY plan to destroy the evil cult? AY is stunned.

AY says he has no plans to defeat Tianning anymore since his father’s death had been a misunderstanding on his part, and HCS pushes him while internally feeling extremely sad. Since it was AY’s tribulation to defeat Tianning according to the Impermanences, all HCS can do is to follow. HCS tells AY that he knows Tianning and not all people there are necessarily evil. The only evil person there is the Tianning’s leader.

AY ruminates and looks at HCS’ expression which is heartbreaking, and he says that HCS can tell him anything if it’s something AY can help him with. HCS pushes him to drink more instead. After another two rounds of glass and a delicious appetizer, and AY finally asks him when will HCS tell him the truth? HCS says that what if he asks him to kill the Tianning’s leader to destroy Tianning? AY freezes and says he’s not strong enough but if that’s what HCS wants, then AY will work very hard and all he asks is that HCS would be more honest with him. HCS waves it off and says they’ll talk about it the next day and they get progressively drunk.

HCS stumbles to bed but AY is not as drunk and pours himself tea while watching HCS’ white face that doesn’t even have a hint of red from drunkenness. AY’s breath becomes quicker and after a bit of deliberation, finally resolves to unmask HCS. He gets the surprise of his life to see a completely unfamiliar face, and HCS drags him unconsciously by the wrist to the bed and presses him beneath HCS. HCS frantically kisses him and after struggling, AY wraps his arms on HCS’ neck instead and returns the gesture. He doesn’t close his eyes so he could see HCS’ real appearance. HCS trails his hand inside AY’s clothes and tells AY right by his ear: “I like you.”

Chapter 101

HCS. FLEES. AGAIN. IN THE MORNING!!! Ahhhh, I’m so mad, and AY is similarly mad too. He’s been done in twice and twice, HCS escaped him. AY is sore all over but at least there’s an improvement this time. HCS bags are all gone but he left a note that says he’ll be seeing AY next year in March in Kunlun Mountain because he has some other things to do. Don’t drink so much.

(He also notes that an elegant hairpin is tucked on his hair and he struggles not to snap it in half. The hairpin is the 3rd martial arts expert’s token.)

After AY crumples the note and screams “Bastard!!”, he flattens out the note and folds it carefully and tucks it in his pocket lol . On the other hand, HCS leaves to Tianning. He’s apparently not as drunk and after ahem, making AY dizzy, he leaves him without even sleeping. He looks at himself in the mirror and his face revealed Gu Mingxiao’s face (so presumably, the one AY thought to be HCS’ real face is Gu Mingxiao’s?? I’m confused). HCS tears off his disguise and finally reveals his real face and went on his merry way. He gets to Tianning after a month in horseback.

He’s greeted by Hua when he gets back and Hua fools him for a moment that he has been replaced as a leader. After that’s passed, Hua attempts to embrace him but HCS pulls away on the last second, makes an excuse about bathing. He bathes, the Lu siblings intrudes, they ask about two red spots on HCS’ skin and he says it’s mosquito bite and thinks it must be since he slept in the wilderness for almost the entire month. He kicks out the Lu siblings and meets up with Gu Mingxiao later on.

Gu Mingxiao, aside from his qualities of hoarding cats like any typical extreme cat ladies, values cleanliness like no other too. HCS keeps provoking him with his filthy ways, and after accidentally swallowing HCS’ booger, he runs out of the room to clean his mouth with tea. Chapter ends with HCS demanding to redo the dishes that the kitchen servants made.

Chapter 102

The foods that has been redone are the foods that his closest men dislikes so much and they all look at it in disgust and tries to guess what’s on their leader’s mind as to the particular nature of this torment. They all exchange their bowls with HCS’ delicious ones lmao and HCS was the one left with nothing delicious to eat. He’s disappointed. He was thinking that he’ll have to disband Tianning somehow. What if AY comes up for a siege, sees Gu Mingxiao and have him accused for taking him and leaving afterwards? Gu Mingxiao would naturally treat AY as a neuropathic case, and so, HCS must disband Tianning. Now.

Luo asks about his improved martial arts and HCS offers him a fight, to which Luo pleasantly and excitedly agreed because he was the one to actually teach HCS martial arts and HCS has been very lazy as he knew him. They dine for the rest of the meal with a warm atmosphere. HCS looks at AY’s two stars afterwards and feels proud that both are shining so brightly, which meant that none of his efforts had gone to waste. Luo comes up behind him and was surprised by the stars’ intensity, to which HCS hand waved over and told him that they’ll fight later so he better digest the food in his stomach quickly.

He thinks about his past—about his grandpa that was killed by the Wulin, about his father who wanted to leave Tianning and martial arts altogether, and thinks that once upon a time, all he wanted to do was leave the mountain. Now, he doesn’t want to leave the mountain at all. He goes to the arena to meet Luo for their arranged battle. They fight and Luo is extremely powerful while HCS still has a psychological shadow looming over him that was accumulated due to losing to Luo every single battle. HCS uses a dirty trick and wins the fight. Luo asks him what happened to him under the mountain and HCS boasts about what else could happen? There’s nothing HCS can solve because HCS is powerful.

Chapter 103

In the morning, Doctor Du’s medical house burned to the ground (and Doctor Du too, since he’s covered in soot), Gu Mingxiao’s cats all had their little heads shaved and they all got depressed, Luo’s scripts that he treasured dearly were used as firewood and barbeque sticks for roasted pigeons, and Hua is being baited by tarnishing his late dad’s memories and the sugar fried chestnuts that were sent to him were replaced by mouse excrement and foot wash. Doctor Du also finds out that the other three had already retaliated in their own way. Hua says he can probably guess why HCS is doing it.

Lu siblings confronts HCS at the same time and the other twin asks why HCS has all his clothes cut two holes in it, exactly to show both nipples, while the other says, that his pillow has been tampered with. For the past month, only the four hall masters avoided him in anger and not the Lu siblings at all because they took HCS’ every excuses at face value. Lu siblings asks if HCS doesn’t like them anymore, and HCS replies that he never liked them in the first place.

Lu siblings cry on the spot, and HCS is soft and can never hurt them so he says instead that if the Lu siblings does a task for him, he’ll like them again. They leave. Hua confronts him next and opens up the thing about becoming the next Wulin head because shouldn’t HCS be coming down the mountain soon? He reveals that the people now knew that it wasn’t AY who defeated the Shadow Moon Gate but Li Jiulong because Ronnie revealed it since Ronnie hated AY for killing one of his panthers back when he attacked them. HCS is shocked and panics accordingly.

 

Chapter 104

HCS’ brain is working in overdrive and he sleeps terribly because of his anxiety that his plans didn’t work out at all. He dreams of his precious people from Tianning and eventually, the dreams shifted into just AY, telling him that he will give him the name Changesheng so he can stay with AY forever so he won’t be too lonely. He further says that he wants to go somewhere where the people aren’t boring and can experience many things, and what would Changsheng do if AY fell? Would Changsheng forgive him for being selfish since he wants Changesheng to watch him fall since he doesn’t want to be lonely until the end? He says he will send Changsheng to be reincarnated, and he will find him again because AY owes him and AY will definitely get him back from the cycle.

HCS wakes up and barely remembers the dream. The next few days, he sends a lot of people to do his bidding and eventually, he himself comes down the mountain. The Lu siblings attempts to stop him and HCS just tells him he needs to finish everything now and come back after two months to Tianning and that they should do what HCS tasked them to do before and not come back if they didn’t finish it.

His four hall masters watch him depart, and Gu Mingxiao yells at him to come back early this time since he brewed winter wine for him. HCS sets out with a heavy heart and doesn’t respond. He heads to Yueha and gets there in half a month, he goes to the valley where Lan Fang used to reside in and sees Little Rotten Egg. Little Rotten Egg says AY already departed to Kunlun two days ago and HCS notes that AY is too enthusiastic. He tells Little Rotten Egg to come with him. He places the Yinlong sword on Lan Fang’s tomb since the sword originally belongs to Yueha.

Chapter 105

They go to Kunlun, and HCS notes that he’s more muscled now due to always being on the road. He asks Little Rotten Egg about either running in cat form or human form, and Little Rotten Egg is like, “Run? Why? I can teleport.” HCS asks calmly if he could teleport HCS too and Little Rotten Egg says yes. HCS asks why didn’t he and the cat says HCS never asked. HCS is understandably pissed. HCS, at this point, has already donned a brand new disguise, and he asks Little Rotten Egg of AY’s location, to which the cat replies that he’s at the foot of the mountain.

HCS is about to go meet AY when he accidentally runs into Lu Wenlin, with people trailing after him to ask for a fight. Lu Wenlin, known to only chase after people who is worth it in his eyes (a.k.a. HCS), rejects them all coldly. Somebody gets impatient and attacks Lu Wenlin in the open and HCS bemoans his luck because he’s nearby. HCS tries to escape but he gets unintentionally blocked by Lu Wenlin and the shameless man who attacked him as their fight grows fiercer.

Lu Wenin attempts to drag him as a cover to his attacker and was surprised when he saw a red circle on HCS’ arm. He says it’s the mark of passing Beihu’s trials and it’s apparently the token, instead of that dagger that Beihu gave HCS, which HCS passed to AY as a “gift”. Lu Wenlin attempts to undress him to see if he has the other two and HCS escapes hurriedly, returning to his inn. He asks Little Rotten Egg if there’s a mark on his back and Little Rotten Egg confirms that there’s a square and a flower shaped mark.

HCS laughs and cries and generally has a mental breakdown. Little Rotten Egg tries to placate him but he claims that Wulin is over for having the Tianning head as their head, and that all of them are stupid idiots. When he calms down and wipes his tears, he wearily tells Little Rotten Egg that they have to go find AY. (This scene is actually kind of sad? Because HCS sounded so resigned and my heart breaks for him )

Chapter 106

Somebody breaks into AY’s room in an inn and he finds a note and a box. The note is provocative and heavily implicative of Tianning, and AY opens the box and sees Gu Mingxiao’s severed head. AY touches the head and finds that there’s no mask on, and the head has been beheaded for quite a while now judging by its texture. AY remembers having only seen the face once, and he committed it to memory. AY combs the hair of the head and HCS is outside the window, voyeuring again and holding his breath but he can’t really see clearly with the angle.

AY does it for a long time, and when he finally snaps, AY howls his cries and HCS steps back from the window three times in surprise. Little Rotten Egg asks him that didn’t HCS wanted to watch this and HCS smiles at him with a pale face and tells him that they’ll go once AY buries the head. It’s raining when AY comes out of the inn to bury the head and the scene is plain heartbreaking. HCS watches it and lowers his straw hat and both he and Little Rotten Egg talk about AY’s fate to eventually become the Wulin head and kill him, since he’s Tianning’s leader.

The false Gu Mingxiao head will apparently turn into stone at three days time and Little Rotten Egg asks HCS if is it okay if he left that way? To which HCS replies that what else could he do? He’ll be meeting both Impermanence after a few days and AY will go up, back to heaven and be an immortal again. Maybe HCS could pass down a few words of finally ascending Little Rotten Egg too.

Little Rotten Egg teleports them back to Tianning before he leaves, saying that he’ll be struck by lightning if he helps HCS further since he’s not really allowed to hurt people. Both of them part ways and he returns back to Tianning. His four Hall Masters are expectedly, very surprised and a bit suspicious. One by one, HCS sends them out to long missions, to which they were really reluctant and hesitant but has no choice but to follow.

Chapter 107

Hua is the second to the last one to go, and Hua expected it because he can follow patterns and is very smart. He asks HCS if is there anything that the head couldn’t do? And HCS answers him that he can’t fight god. HCS sends Gu Mingxiao last and Gu Mingxiao doesn’t want to go because no one will be left by his head’s side then. HCS tells him that he knows Mingxiao will always come back, no matter what. Mingxiao relents and he leaves. HCS sends a letter to the former Wulin head, with the content that the Yianning’s head is dead.

January 1st and AY breaks in Tianning, asking for vengeance. He came alone and the servants are panicking because no one can stop AY. HCS puts on a half golden mask and tells the servants not to block AY’s way since he, himself, will “teach” him a lesson. AY finally appears in the hall, bloodstained and looking like a god of war.

So the confrontation dramatically goes like this:

Han Changsheng walked down from the throne and said coldly: "Huangfu Anyuan. Why, you seduce my people and teach them to betray me, and now, you even dare to go up the mountain to die?"

An Yuan crossed the sword and said coldly, "Are you the leader of Tianning?"

"Yes."

"He, did you kill him?"

"How is he?"​

Then the vicious fight ensues and HCS uses a long knife instead of a sword. They’re evenly matched and AY stabs HCS in the chest, but before HCS could also stab AY, he loosens his hold on the long knife. Half of the mask breaks and falls to the ground and AY is kind of dazed. HCS tells him AY finally has his revenge while smiling, and AY’s hold on his sword trembles. HCS walks up to AY and tells him while lovingly caressing his face, “I wish you soar as soon as possible.”

AY finally has an epiphany and he looks at HCS in disbelief, landing on his ass on the ground. He actually thinks that the whole thing has been weird since this was the Tianning and the defenses were kind of shitty? And the epiphany he had was his misunderstanding that the leader may have said those words to curse AY to death and because he’s hiding an ambush for AY since really, how could Tianning have been so easy?

The chapter ends with HCS opening his eyes after a moment.

 

Chapter 108 – Final Chapter (Arguably the longest since it's almost semi-summary at this point)

HCS wonders if he died, and if so, why is he still in Tianning hall without a wound at all? He laments that he even planned a “handsome” death. He concludes that the entire thing had been his dream since he’s been very tired recently, he slept on the hall. Then AY appears inside the hall like in his dream, and the conversation goes differently this time. AY asks if he’s the leader of Tianning and what his name is. When HCS introduces himself, AY becomes dazed, as if remembering something, saying “Changsheng” two times. AY asks him why he’s wearing a mask and HCS gets a whiplash at the question because AY. Was Totally. Not. Following. The SCRIPT!!

HCS rants and attacks without prompting, and even when HCS was supposed to be in disadvantage for using a knife, which is a weapon he’s not familiar with, he overwhelms AY, which surprises them both. HCS is totally crying internally, cursing god. So the moment with both of them stabbing each other came into being again, and HCS loosens his knife again, but before AY could stab him, there’s a loud boom, and look who’s there! GASP!! IT’S NONE OTHER THAN GU MINGXIAO!

(Lol HCS your shitty luck )

HCS is like, “Mingxiao? Didn’t you leave?” and then suddenly, all four hall masters and the Lu siblings come out from the dark and HCS is positively losing his mind lmao. AY in the sidelines is shocked too because he thought Mingxiao is haunting him, and out of the six people, two had a face of the ones whom he had…intimate activities with, previously. Ahem.

So , the hall masters apparently figured out that something’s up, and they managed to get the letter addressed to the former Wulin head and they read it. They figured (or Hua figured) that HCS wants Tianning to be used as sacrifice, how he wants AY to become the Wulin head, etc., etc., all are deliberate schemes and Gu Mingxiao is like, “If he likes Huangfu this much, why couldn’t he just steal away Huangfu and integrate him to Tianning?” (Considering that that’s how HCS integrated 80% of his people to Tianning, it’s not really a farfetched conclusion to arrive to)

Hua reveals that HCS may be threatened and he can’t do anything about it. And the other hall masters were like, “Who could even threaten him?” and Hua just says that maybe HCS thinks that even if he says, they can’t do anything about it. They deliberate more and they go down the mountain and stay at the back of the mountain the entire time. Only HCS was the one who thought that he emptied out the mountain lmao (everybody, even the servants knew).

So they relay this to HCS who is seething in disbelief. Then they start revealing that HCS was Li Jiulong, etc., etc., and he basically gets found out, and AY grabs the mask on HCS’ face. HCS grabs AY’s wrist first and drags him out since he has something to say to AY, apparently. AY is stunned but follows him, the rest attempts to but HCS threatens them all with internal force.

So they’re on the top of the mountain, and AY asks when would he get his mask off and was it fun for HCS to play him like that? One last time, HCS attempts to overturn it by blaming himself and Tianning for AY’s misfortune and even AY knows there’s something else going on now but he still gets triggered. When he unsheathes his sword, the world changes and HCS is now once again, facing the White and Black Impermanence and the Magistrate (God of Fate). HCS asks for another chance and the Black and White Impermanence just look at each other and was like, “Uh, so um, you can’t die.”

So they explain more, and tells HCS that his tribulation is not subduing/killing evil but a love tribulation. HCS asks for clarification and they said that AY must experience love, hatred, grudges, and the dissipation of the world, and that HCS has in fact already made AY realize those, and the one last part is to let AY feel birth and death. The last one can be accomplished if HCS stays with AY forever, and after death, AY will finally ascend.

HCS comes back to reality and his hall masters and two bodyguards were surrounding him. Apparently they rescued him from being stabbed by AY. Afterwards is a really cute fluffy family bonding scene about how the rest won’t be able to live if HCS dies. HCS is just very happy at the mo and spoils them with promises. He gets out and sees AY who is glaring murderously at him, and so HCS tells him that everything he said up that mountain? Is a joke. He’s totally kidding, oh yeah!

AY wants him to tell the truth and HCS is desperately coaxing him. When AY says “Which one is true and which one is false?”, HCS tells him that “You’re actually an immortal.” And AY becomes angry because HCS is showering him with platitudes again and lying (We all know that HCS is definitely not lying). Anyways, HCS coaxes for a long time and finally convinced AY that he was forced to deal his hand in.

AY was like, “Really? So you were forced to disguise, to treat me…” and HCS clears his throat and tells him not to mind the details too much. AY’s grievances are diminished just like that. AY attempts to leave the mountain and HCS doesn’t dare let him go and HCS tells him resolutely that he will never lie to AY again. They share a bed again at night and HCS looks at the medicine that Mingxiao gave him (used for you know what) and AY suddenly wakes up and grabs HCS’ face, twisting it, to see if it’s another mask. Then AY swipes the medicine and turns eerily silent when he read what the fine print says.

He kisses HCS, and HCS was stunned, but then AY sealed his acupuncture to paralyze him. AY says he learned from none other than HCS and that he’s here for “revenge” (of being bottomed? Hah!). HCS suddenly fears for his life. They spent a month in Tianning’s mountain before both of them came down. Lu siblings asks them where they’re going, and HCS says he wants to be a Wulin head.

A lifetime passes, and it’s implied that both of them lived a good and lengthy life. HCS becomes a soul and is revealed to be a catnip grass demon. AY fought in a war and the aftermath of it had his system invaded with demonic qi. HCS transfers AY’s pain to himself because he can’t watch AY suffer anymore and because his cultivation is insufficient, he suffered a backlash and became the demon that he himself consumed. As he laid in AY’s arms, dying, AY used his own cultivation to send HCS to the reincarnation cycle, and so he became Han Chengsheng. The love tribulation was also not AY’s but his, apparently? And because HCS passed it, he managed to cleanse the demonic qi inside him and gain immortality.

Jade Emperor ascends him to an Immortal King and he send him to the Immortal Monarch Anyuan to be his First Immortal, and they live happily ever after!
