This story is actually still in progress, though it seems like the main climax is already over, so I'm guessing it should be finishing up soon. (EDIT: Yep, it's finished, and no further big revelations were had.)

The story actually starts with the scene set by the summary: ML waking up and having his soldiers go collect MC from his attempt to divorce and leave--but don't scare him! What happened before that point, as well as MC's and ML's backstories, are slowly revealed in media res.

Spoiler: Of MC's previous life:

We only get hints of MC's previous incarnation in the modern world, but it sounds like he was born in an upper class elite family that was full of the stereotypical dog blood drama. MC grew up watching all the two faced people around him who put personal gain above love and morality. It's also hinted that he may have either experienced or witnessed more than one major betrayal.

MC grew sick of all the fakeness around him and decided to leave behind the rich boy life. He probably became a pet shop owner (what with his encyclopedic knowledge of pet species), and prefers cuddly animals over people because he sees pets as more emotionally faithful than humans.

That said, MC is also a huuuuge softy when it comes to furry cuddly animals. Not...technically a furry, since he likes them as normal animals and doesn't have a special thing for walking fuzzy animals, nor does he have a sexual preference for fuzzy animals, talking or no. But... definitely a devoted animal lover.

Spoiler: What happened post-transmigration:

Anyway, he transmigrates over to a sci fi setting where humans and beastmen (who have an animal form and a human form) coexist. He arrives in the body of a young human, who was hinted to have recently died before MC arrived. MC did not get the memories of his original body, which is probably for the best. I mean, his body is one that has definitely not seen any harsh work before, but is currently on a trash planet, and his personal computer/ID contains no info older than a couple months (and screams fake id). So yeah...definitely a potentially troublesome identity.

However, he's rescued from the trash planet fairly quick, because his genetic profile had matched him for marriage to ML...

It's a quirk of this setting, where due to the need to keep up population levels, when you come of age and as long as you're unmarried, the master genealogical computer system will send you recommendations for marriage based on genetic compatibility. For normal people, they're free to accept or reject the recommendation, so it's like a government endorsed dating service. However, there's a exception -- if the match involves someone of high rank in the military, then only the officer is able to reject the match, the commoner party cannot reject it.

In this case, ML is a duke and a general, so MC cannot reject the match. Normally, and in all previous instances, the ML would reject the matches from the computer because he also doesn't trust easily and doesn't want to marry yet. However, currently ML is heavily wounded after a battle (he was saving the crown prince from pirates or rebels or something), and not able to reject the match. So they are automatically married.

The other part of the law is that when you get married by the system this way, you can't file for divorce until a year afterwards. After that, you can file for divorce, and if the other party does not reject the divorce offer within 10 days, then the divorce carries. Now, MC assumes that his marriage was only a comedy of errors and that the ML probably didn't want to get married to him (he would've been right at the beginning), so he waits a year and then files for freedom. But then ML wakes up on the last day and insists they remain married. As for why...

You see, ML wasn't actually in a coma for the last year. He was heavily injured, but for a beastman like him, it just means he regresses into a mini-beast-form, that looks very similar to an infant beast-man child. In his case, since ML's normal beast form is a tiger, his chibi form is a...large cat. One that can't talk, but can still understand what's going on around him.

So when MC arrives at the household and sees this big, cute, furry kitty, who he's told is the general's "baby nephew"... MC being a cat-con glomps onto the kitty as his favorite adorable "bebe". And in the year together, conquered ML with his superior cat-grooming and feeding prowess! Ok, kidding. But basically ML was able to observe MC over the last year and found him to be a sunny, adorably dumb (because he has no idea how a lot of common things in the sci fi setting works) but clear-headed person, and slowly fell in love with him.

After ML wakes up, MC is resistant to marriage first because he still doesn't trust people all that much. But ML is able to convince him that he truthfully likes MC and that he is able to protect MC from whatever trouble his obviously troublesome origins are. It also helps that ML can turn into a giant cat and MC cannot keep his hands off of fur that soft.

The main story is these two slowly getting used to each other and MC starting to trust ML. MC learns about ML's past, and ML protecting MC when his current body's past comes to haunt...

ML's backstory:

ML is a hereditary duke and his mother is the youngest daughter of the previous king. From hints we get, his dad was a distant figure, more busy with military matters than family, and so ML doesn't remember him much. He was pretty much raised by the family butler, and see him as his father-figure.

Anyway, the old duke died when ML was really young, and his mom went nuts. She blamed her husband's death on him not listening to her, and became ultra-controlling of every aspect of ML's life. And when he didn't do as she wanted, she would punish him, and the punishments got worse and worse until he nearly died from them.

The imperial family tried to intervene, but the mom threw a tantrum in front of the old king, and he ended up sending ML back to the abusive family. The crown prince (who's now the current king) would then often make visits and sleep over with ML in order to prevent his mom from taking things too far. Then as soon as ML turned 16, he joined the military to get away from his crazy mom.

You'd think that was the end of it? Nah. Crazy mom started to send assassins after ML, on the rationale that "it was better that he die by her hands than enemy hands". Like, WTF woman? Anyway, as soon as the current king took over, he put the crazy lady under house arrest to prevent her from making further trouble for ML.

Host was actually the eldest son of another duke (lower ranked than ML's family though). He and his youngest brother were born of Duke Tang's official wife. He was also the fiance of the current crown prince (ML's nephew, who he got wounded to save), and they were good childhood friends.

But good things don't last. Duke Tang had a mistress on the side, who had another son who was younger than MC but older than the littlest brother. When Host's mom died, his dad raised the mistress to be their step-mom. The evil step-mom then secretly used an illegal drug on Host, causing his mental power ranking to fall from S-class to become a waste.

In order to preserve the family reputation, the old duke agreed have Host locked up, and have the mistress' son to take his identity (after some cosmetic surgery) to become the crown "princess". Host was then imprisoned and abused by the step-mom for several years.

He was eventually freed by his little brother, who found out about the swap and what happened to his elder brother. This kid is a genius, who put on a mask to curry favor with the dad and the step-mom, convincing them that he honestly accepted the fake elder brother, and would become the model heir for the dad (since the brother is marrying off to the royal family). However, behind their backs, he plotted to gather power and backing, seizing actual control of most of the duke's power base, and used that to help his brother escape as well as giving him the new (intended to be temporary) ID. His original plan was probably to wait until he came of age in a few years, then officially seize power and the dukedom, and then once he had everything secured, bring his brother back.

However, bad luck struck the ship that Host was escaping on, and it encountered pirates. Eventually, Host crash landed (?) on the trash planet. Host may have died shortly afterwards, and then MC arrived.

Also, ML actually suspected MC's real origins from the beginning, since he's seen host's mom before, and there's a strong resemblance there which the current fake brother doesn't have. But since MC doesn't have any memories and doesn't like trouble, ML didn't dig into things until events forced his hand.

In the end, when MC is finally convinced of his hubby's willingness and ability to protect him from any problems, he slowly allowed himself to be seen in public. And sure enough, the step-mother and her conspirator saw him on the street by chance, and immediately tried to send assassins after him. ML of course makes short work of them, and crashes Duke Tang's house, throws the results of his investigation on the poisonous stepmother in the old duke's face, and then helps MC's little brother in seizing control of the dukedom ahead of time.

The little bro has the step-mom locked up in the same little black room that MC's host used to be kept in, and tormented. His dad is also being kept in house arrest in a small hut built next to their mom's grave. And the fake elder brother is only slightly better since none of these plots were originated by him, so he's only kept under house arrest in his room for the rest of his life, and not in a little black hut.

...And that's pretty much where the current chapter is at.

Hard to say... I mean, it all certainly wasn't his idea to begin with. His mom treated him as a tool to gain power, and his dad treated him as a tool to maintain the house's reputation. However, he didn't exactly reject his role, and he seems to honestly have a crush on the crown prince (a feeling that isn't returned).

There wasn't much description. MC left as soon they tossed all the evidence in front of the old duke's face, and wishing the old duke a "long life and no one to support you in your old age" on behalf of original host.

Then the little brother started giving orders for the fates of the old duke and the stepmom, which the household staff carried out because they've long become his people instead of the old duke's. Then there's some rumors of "crown princess" gets recalled home because the old duke is sick after his second wife's sudden death (the public cover story). The little bro lets the fake brother visit his crazy mom to see just how much she never cared about him as anything more than a pawn.

Then, the fake brother says he'll cancel the engagement and leave the planet forever. The little bro tells him that of course the engagement is canceled, the imperial family aren't idiots and ML didn't hide any of his actions from their spies. However he can't the fake bro get away to become a future threat, so he'll just have to trouble him to say in his comfy room forever. He should be grateful that MC had urged the little bro not to lose himself in revenge, so he's not actually going carry out revenge on this brother who was the only one who hadn't intentionally raised a hand against them.

 

what happen to the prince then?

 

A little regretful that his childhood BFF has turned into his...uncle's wife, but not too sad about no longer being engaged to the fake. ML is actually fairly close the imperial family; the current king is probably the person closest to him after the butler guy who raised him. He'll probably become friends with MC, if ML's vinegar jar doesn't overflow too much whenever they're talking to each other.

Does ML know about his system and his transmigration or is he going with the classic Amnesia?

 

ML knows that he's got something weird going on with his pet summoning, but not necessarily that he has a system. MC was originally passing it off as the manifestation of his psychic ability. (People in this world have general psychic ability which manifests in a particular way; there was one guy who can summon plants, so the ability to summon fluffy animals isn't too weird.) However, later the story, MC actually manifests his real ability, once recovered from the previous poisoning from his stepmom, which is a healing ability. So obviously the summoning can't be his natural ability. But ML helped MC hide his new ability, so that everyone still assumes animal summoning is his ability.

ML doesn't know about the transmigration and MC doesn't really think about his past much, so it really doesn't need to come up.

 

Is there more trouble or villain after MC's step family and his father?

 

No, after the confrontation with MC's blood family, there's just a couple of chapters before the story ends. Mostly about MC's little brother being all jealous, and hanging out with MC on an online game. Also MC agreeing to have kids with ML (test tube babies)... MC was previously reticent bc there's a 50-50 chance of beastkin or human babies and he didn't want furless kids.

She's not really an obstacle to MC bc she's already been stripped powerless by the king, and ML told him to ignore her. Her main purpose is to establish ML's backstory.

I finally finished this novel! It was full of dogfood toward the ending of the novel Aahhhh

Spoiler: Fluffy moments

This happened when MC and ML was still developing their relationship together and after ML finally shows that he's a tiger. ML would sometimes went to MC or MC will go to ML and MC will comb ML's fur and ML would just lay quietly enjoying it (each time they did this, I can't help to feel 'Aawwww')
Next, this happened after MC family is sealed with.. MC fans asked MC 'Why don't they have a photo together' MC was like 'OMG! That's true! We never have taken a photo together! Then, when ml is back home, he immediately grabs him and said to take photo with him. After mc took it, ml said its not good enough.. And he said let's take another one tomorrow. That night, they got a phone call from the hospital and they're having twins (will spoil more about them after this) and mc got too excited and can't sleep. The next day, he was soo sleepy that he decided 'let's not take picture today' but ml said you can sleep on the way.. And when mc woke up, they're in a very beautiful place and immediately woke up! XD ml hired a royalty photographer to take picture of the two of them and they end up taking 200+ pictures together.. That night, mc then posted a picture of them together.. Then after that, he end up posting lots more of their picture together. His fan then got angry because of too much dog food..

There's some more, but I couldn't remembered anymore.. I feel the need to talk about their kids more hahaha

THEY UP UP HAVING TWINS! MC and their butler, Lin Bo were very very excited on thinking having a child.. While ml is suckling because he's worried mc will spoil the child more.. They need 3days to know if their child in human or a best but mc keep on saying that it'll be a boy beast! After 3 days, the hospital called that said they'll having twins... One boy and one girl.. Mc tend up excited but also worried that who'll marry their daughter since ml will surely be possessive of her while their butler went crazy of preparing and very very excited! He keep on saying he'll l raise their child even when ml and ml is not planing to have a child yet.. Anyway the novel ends with them having a lovely family and lived happily.. Btw ml is really spoiling their daughter.. He'll hug their daughter first.. And ignored the son rushing towards him.. XD

Now regarding MC reaction when he found out ml is Da Zhuang

He found out after coming back from a theme park with Da Zhuang.. ML is already planing to tell him after they gone back home.. But sadly, it doesn't end that way. MC step mom decided that 'let's kill mc now!' and attacked the plane(not sure to call it a plane of what) and then ml was furious and end up changing into his big animal form and into his human form in front of mc and went to fight.. After they got back, mc finally recovered his wits and got angry at ml.. The funny part is he said 'you make me lost a son' while ml fights back with 'how many times that you keep on saying to call him daddy?' and ml end up sleeping in the sofa that night! But they make up again the next day though.. ML is good at comforting mc.. but later on, each time they quarrel mc and ml will keep on Brightling up these two points! Hahaha it was too funny thou, the way mc keep on telling Da Zhuang 'call him daddy...' or 'say I love daddy'

 

Eh....well the short novel[55 ch] is a positive point here since it's not ongoing, that's a definite bonus...
The plot seems interesting lol, and from the spoilers, it seems to be fluffy too. Since it's fairly short, i'll patiently wait for it to be completed.
