Though I have read this BL novel before; I cannot find any trace left of it on novel updates or on my fav. MTL site despite hours of search. The opening scene was gripping and very well written. The MC was escaping in a carriage with his dead baby, escorted by the ML, his husband, who is the 3rd prince. The prince had been wrongly imprisoned and sentenced to die. He broke out to rescue his 'wife' but it was too late. Their baby was dead, the MC was dying from poisoned wine, and by the end of the scene the ML died under a storm of arrows, while trying to shield his family. Last thought of MC was something along the lines of "if only I knew he cared about us." After MC's rebirth, he understands that the consort of another prince has a system (blue bead attached to head?) which is responsible for the inexplicable bad fate that MC & ML suffered. Though face-slapping ensues, the MC main focus is trying to avoid the attention of the consort with the system, and getting back into a relationship with his arranged marriage husband, in order to have his baby again. In order to avoid the future palace meltdown, MC & ML go to the frontier where they shine, and yes, get a kid. The consort with a system ends up blackening his image by having various affairs, and getting fat. There is another novel that is similar to this out there, but it doesn't begin with that gripping scene. I liked the MC in the novel I'm searching for, and wish to meet them again in the pages of the book.

This is unbelievable. I have trolled N/U for hours looking of this book, and have never been able to find it. However, an hour after leaving a message on the forum, I find it. (Thanks to the exercise of putting tags in the request, which led me to filter-search using a tag I'd never used before.) In any case, both the title and the book blurb don't feel compatible to the novel, so I probably skimmed over the link before, and just didn't recognize it. Whatever, here it is: I’m The Vicious Cannon Fodder In The Book.

 you also can change the title to 'resolved', I think
or 'self-resolved', if you find the flair
