I read this on txt. Each chapter there is short with total 800 something chapters. I only read about 200 and skipped to the ending. The summary actually only cover about 50 something first chapter. The rest is conspiracy, assasins, jianghu etc. MC is seme and ML, the empress, is uke MC actually gained ML's trust rather quickly by treating ML well, giving phoenix seal to ML, ignoring all the concubines, trusting ML's family (he treated ML's father, general Shi, like normal modern people treats their father in law) When ML's birthday came, he also arranged a day out for both of them and a very romantic gesture in the lake. There was a maid who got pregnant. It was already seven months when she was found out, so MC ordered to take care of her well. However she still got an accident. The baby, a son, survived though. MC then declared the baby as ML's son, solving the problem about having heir. There was another transmigrated person too. Xu Yu. MC treated him as his adopted brother, but Xu Yu didn't know that he transmigrated into novel.

No mpreg. The original ML slept with the maid. The maid was 7 months pregnant and ML only transmigrated for 3 months. As to why she hid it. She was a maid at another concubine palace. If she was found out earlier, her mistress would kill her so get rid of the baby. The pregnancy was only found out when the maid was about to get fired and people was suspicious about her body shape. She used fabric to wrap her stomach tightly. MC and ML got report that the maid was beaten and quickly went to the concubine palace to stop it. For MC, he was glad for the baby since it meant here was a baby ready for ML and he didn't need to sleep with other woman.

I mtl-ed the novel and this novel became one of my favorites. Misunderstandings were like spices in the novel and also I’m glad that those misunderstandings were quickly solved. So, there are 3 transmigrated people here? MC = emperor = gong ML = empress = shou and Xu yu. Btw, even if there's a baby and will be the heir, but that baby is the empress's blood, so how did that allow? Also, why'd the orignal empress sleep with the maid? The empress, ML, is not transmigrated. He’s the original protagonist of the novel that MC transmigrated into. Xu Yu is transmigrated. The maid was one that served a concubine. She slept with the emperor before MC transmigrated. So the baby belongs to the MC’s body at least. the concubine that the maid serves tries to have her killed before the emperor realizes she is pregnant with his child. Emperor/ Empress figure out/are told by someone and stop concubine from killing maid. She goes into labour and they have choice to save either maid or baby. MC has trouble deciding since he’s from modern times where they wouldn’t just abandon a child. Empress makes the decision to save the child, since he has emperor’s blood. Emperor explains that since he’s turned over a new leaf, he hasn’t touched any of the women in his back courts, and he gives the child to the empress to be their son. The empress has only been with emperor. I can’t remember why he had to marry emperor but neither of them liked the other before. I think the point Mc transmigrated in was something like 3 months before he was to be killed by the empress, who would take over the throne and be an excellent ruler compared to the original. I don’t remember if MC was gay, but ML wasn’t. I don’t know if he liked anyone even in the original novel. The original emperor was extremely rough and could care less if ML felt good. MC won him over.
