I'm looking for BL with great female characters. I'd accept just decent female characters (rated 3 or above): 5 She is complex, interesting, has her own goals and life outside of the male characters, is not a villain, and is a proper supporting character with lots of scenes 4 She is not a villain, has at least 2-3 scenes, and isn't completely 1-dimensional 3 There are named female characters with lines, who are not villains 2 There are women who aren't villains, but they aren't really characters. Or there is a female villain, but she's an interesting and complex character. 1 All of the women are 1-dimensional villains who exist for the sole purpose of getting face-slapped by the male characters. Or there are no female characters at all. Green Plum Island is a 4. Guide on How to Fail at Online Dating is a 3.
How to Survive as a Villain has three pretty neat female side characters, two of which Spoiler: mild plot spoiler are part of an adorable sapphic ship . The characters help and are helped by the MC, and even though they sort of do their part and then leave, they do have an impact on the story. From your rating, I'd give them like a 4.5
"Stray" Definitely a 5! Ann is the best! Bad-ass, truly strong, with a compelling backstory, and character growth! She's like an older sister/mentor to the Main couple but has her own motivations and feelings about the events that happen in the story. She's truly a part of the party, even when she's kinda standing back. Even the side characters females in the story who's names you quickly forget are rarely the villains, and are fleshed out in unexpected ways. There's no one who is wholey good or evil in this story and it just so SO good! Don't let the amount of chapters scare you away! Every one is worth it!
