Name: Blasphemy 亵渎 Author: Yan Yu Jiang Nan (烟雨江南) Raw link: Blasphemy Why it should get picked up: It is one of the most well-received fantasy web novels in China. It is considered by many as a “classic” among web novels. Blasphemy is credited for popularizing the Qihuan (Western Fantasy) genre. It is over 2.6 million words long, has over 25 million hits and has 6.2 million recommendations on Qidian.(Borrowed from Gravity Tales) ^That sounds too good for it not to be translated. T.T Description(again borrowing from Gravity Tales): Born into an age of turmoil, God died. But did the truth die as well? A man who would sleep until he naturally awoke. A man who counted money until his hands cramped. By a random stroke of fate, a despicable, cunning rascal who loves to fight and chase girls becomes the successor to the departed soul of a great necromancer who once challenged the gods. Like a little fish in a big river, Rogge aimlessly seeks his fate. He gets involved with the fairy race, God’s realm, the dwarf country, and other dimensions, as well as in politics, war, and trade. Within his adventures, he finds lucky encounters left and right as his achievements spiral upwards to ever greater heights. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A short review translated by NomYummi Spoiler The story style is relaxing, happy, and wretched. The world that the novel is set in is massive. Each country and each race is shaped into their own unique molds. The novel’s greatest strengths are: One, looking at the overall plot, the main character is born as a “lowly and weak person” and slowly becomes a “great and strong person.” However, he isn’t that overpowered. In the vast majority of the chapters, the main character borrows others’ strength to fight, uses wretched means to to obtain victory, struggles for survival — the weak defeats the strong — creating a unrestrained and unpredictable plot. Two, the second feature is how the many characters are developed. The main character Rogge is portrayed as a selfish and petty person. He is greedy and wretched. Each and every one of the supporting roles and the heroine have their own unique characteristics. Their personalities are fresh and clear, especially Andreoni and Floya. Even though it has been 10 years, since I finished reading this, if you give me a name, I can still recall many of that character’s unique characteristics. – Review written by Unknown Blowing Smoke EDIT:Chapter 1 translated by Nomyummi as a teaser at gravity tales can be found here
I dunno. Can't read Chinese. But its under Qihuan(Western Fantasy) So I guess kinda similar to Coiling Dragon.
I would read this. Cunning, shameless, bastard MC sounds like fun. Though, is it harem? Not too big of a fan of harem, unless it's written really well (Like Destruction Flag Otome's harem).
I really want to read this , damn i think it is similar to "Warlock of A Magus World" ,but even better and that novel is great .
This novel's word count for each chapter seems to range from 5k-10k... meaning it's really long. Anyone that picks this up has to break it up into smaller parts
