Nope, but the novel is still ongoing so there's hope. The eldest sister, Ji Muqing, is in a bad situation though, mistreated but still alive. She schemed her way into becoming part of the Imperial Family, marrying Prince Hu Yi and acquiring the title of Princess. What she didn't realise was that the Empress is more devious than she is and saw through Ji Muqing's scheme from the very beginning. The Empress plotted the whole thing for political reasons, and Ji Muqing is simply a pawn in the game. MC and ML have been travelling here and there to attend to cases most of the time. She did return home once or twice but wasn't harmed; having ML around helps. MC is not OP, but she's not a pushover either. Her plan is to live a peaceful life doing her work, and have enough money to leave home for good.
Hope this is accurate. Spoiler: Who Is Ji Pei? Ji Pei is the adopted brother. He and MC were in love. Second sister Ji Wanxin was also in love with him but it's unrequited. Before leaving for the battlefield, he promised to return and asked MC to wait for him. He didn't. Then two years passed and he was presumed dead. During a case in the Imperial Capital, while dressed in her "Mr Ji" work clothes (which is most of the time) and wearing a mask, MC spots a man on a wheelchair who looks like Ji Pei, and goes after him. The man is aware of being followed, stops on a bridge and initiates a dialogue with MC. He identifies himself as Su Zi Luo , and denies knowing Ji Yunshu (MC) or Ji Pei. Because his attitude and demeanor are different, MC convinces herself that this man cannot be Ji Pei. Afterwards, she goes to an inn to ask Ji Pei's childhood friend about what happened in the battlefield. SZL attends a banquet in the Imperial Palace. His presence shocks MC's brothers, General Ji Huan and Ji Li, because he looks like Ji Pei. ML notices her brother's reactions and asks MC whether SZL is the Ji Pei she's been waiting for, and she immediately denies it. SZL observes that Mr Ji (MC) and ML seem to have an intimate relationship. This was also the time ML told MC that he has no plans on marrying Kong Yu. The Emperor issues a marriage decree between Kong Yu and a man from another country. A murder involving a beheaded general from another country implicates Ji Li. MC is allowed to investigate the crime scene and perform the autopsy with SZL's help. ML asks to meet with SZL after they appear before the Emperor, and SZL reveals that he is indeed Ji Pei. SZL states his reasons for wanting MC to stop waiting for him, and that MC will understand after the next day's happenings. He advises ML to continue taking care of her, and to forgive her for whatever decision she makes in the future. To this ML replies, "Even without you saying this, I will always be with her no matter what." They agreed to not let MC know about their meeting. MC returns to the crime scene to re-check the corpse. She realises who the killer is, and SZL appears at the crime scene at that moment. Turns out, SZL planned to murder the victim and frame Ji Li all along. What he didn't expect was for Kong Yu to seek and slash the victim. So SZL directed Kong Yu to shut up and leave, then beheaded the victim using Ji Li's sword and cleared all (or so he thought) evidence from the crime scene. SZL uses MC's desire to know about what happened to Ji Pei, to bait her into declaring Ji Li as the killer and avoid a war between the two countries. Also, Ji Li wants to kill MC. SZL gives her time to think about it. She weighs the choices between conscience and life, and chooses life. ML is shocked when MC tells him that the killer is Ji Li, and triple checks it with her before accepting her statement without doubt, understanding the reasons behind her decision. SZL visits Ji Li in jail, and expresses that he deserves to die for killing his father in the battlefield. Ji Li boasts about it, and SZL gives him two choices: to commit suicide, or to die by his hands. SZL strangles him to death, but it's declared as a suicide in the end. Ji Huan is enraged and rushes to ML's manor to kill MC, but ML saves her. ML treats her sword wound, and tells her that Ji Li's death had nothing to do with her, that he needed to pay for the people he killed. SZL receives a note from MC to meet her at a designated place and time. There she confronts him as Ji Pei, airing out her grievances in tears. He apologises and admits his pain at their separation. MC then surprises with a twist: she knew that SZL used her to exact his revenge on Ji Li. Ji Li appears before them alive, and as it turns out, it's Ji Pei's father who tried to kill Ji Li in that battlefield. SZL is escorted out of the Capital under Imperial edict negotiated by MC, but is ambushed and killed soon after by ML and his men.
Yup. He realised he lost the game when MC said something like this: "You said, the biggest problem between generals and soldiers, between two people, is not lack of trust.....it's selfishness! That's what you taught me, remember?"

At first I totally ship the story "Imperial Princess Accidentally Seduced Her Husband" until halfway when everything went wrong and started to fu*ked up... As for Chaos of Beauty, I think that fate truly played all of them.. if only the FL end up with the Emperor earlier on rather than the ML's childhood sweetheart [ Since both of them actually received the Phoenix's prediction] maybe all of this mess will never happened.. I mean the Emperor himself is quite pitiful... He did looked like a creep when he threatened the FL, but what man can stay sane having force to wear a green hat??... Oh well~ Ah... but this truly remind me of the OST for Go Princess Go [崔子格 - It can be thought of but not spoken]... The line started with.. ~If a beautiful girl's life hasn't ever been unfortunate— Is there [such] a legend in this world?~ So I guess, those drama are needed...
Wait, I was under the impression that the ML never slept with the concubine in Chaos of Beauty! Did they?! I thought the ML backed off after she married the emperor though they still "see" each other and she tries to get close to him (hugs n stuff). And Imperial Princess Accidentally Seduced Her Husband's ML sucks >=(

About the Yin Yang Corpse Case: Spoiler: Yin Yang Corpse Case A middle-aged, male-sized intersex skeleton was found buried underneath a tree in the Grand Canal Manor where ML stays. It had been buried for two years and the victim was stabbed multiple times. On the way back home after the autopsy, MC senses someone following her covertly so she asks the person to show himself. Turns out he's an elderly servant named Seventh Uncle who identified the victim as his Master Jiang, and he's one of the few people who knew his master had a yin yang body. He claims to know who the murderer is and fears that he'll be silenced because of this. The victim's death went unreported and the Jiang family had moved to the capital two years ago. The victim's widow, Madam Jiang, didn't know her husband's yin yang body until after they got married, so she mistreated him and he didn't fight back due to shame. Madam Jiang appears at the magistrates court wanting to claim her husband's corpse for burial, but she's not allowed to. During questioning she causes a scene with MC, and ML walks in at the right moment to intervene. Meantime Seventh Uncle has died, and when MC and ML go to his home wanting to see his corpse, his widow informs them that his remains have already been burned according to village tradition. Seventh Uncle was the only lead in the case, so how can the case move forward if MC can't determine whether he was murdered? MC becomes despondent over this. ML takes MC out for a meal, by this time he already knows she's female and tries to imagine how lovely she'd look wearing a woman's outfit with her hair down. ML pulls her hand to leave the stall which unnerves MC, so she walks ahead toward Ji Mansion, leaving him behind. She hears some roof tiles being removed when an arrow shoots straight at her, and ML intervenes. Assassins appear, he instructs MC to run towards an alley, and while blocking the way he confronts the assassins. One of them gets through, tries to attack MC at a dead end, ML kicks a stone that hits the assassin's wrist causing him to drop the sword. MC urges ML to go ahead or she'll slow him down, but he doesn't let go of her hand and declares that he'll never abandon her in life or death. The assassins surround them, and ML positions MC behind. There's a light moment when ML asks MC whether she's afraid and she admits it without hesitation. He laughs and tells her not to worry as he'll be her companion even in the afterlife, whether to admire flowers or drink wine. She tells him she doesn't want to admire flowers or drink wine, then proceeds to advise him to look for Luan'er (her personal maid) and convey her instructions in case she dies. ML asks who the person is, and MC replies that Luan'er is her "loved one" who would be willing to join her in the afterlife, and ML eats vinegar. Then she instructs him to close his eyes, throws poison powder at the assassins, and they make a run for it. MC then re-checks the the yin yang corpse and finds evidence of a child's existence, although Master and Madam Jiang never had children. Other evidence points to Madam Jiang's brother Li Zhao, who pushed the victim and later buried him. Li Zhao is arrested, questioned, and sent to prison while MC continues to search for conclusive evidence. MC has to deal with family and engagement matters again, but this time MC intentionally throws herself into the pond to protect Wei Yi and ensure that the right person gets punished. This re-opens her whiplash wounds and she receives treatment. MC prepares to make a trip to Zhao Village to follow a lead. It's raining as she reaches the pier, and she's surprised to see ML waiting for her. During the boat ride she questions his purpose, and he answers that after the assassination attempt he can't let her go on her own, he's here with hidden guards to protect her. Waves cause the boat to shake, MC is almost thrown out but ML grabs her and wraps her in his embrace. She admits to herself that ML is a really handsome man, and his majestic bearing makes her feel safe, although different from Ji Pei's scholarly appearance. Upon reaching the village, MC and ML head to a ramshackle hut and knock on the door. A woman named Yu Shao, looking like she's suffered the vicissitudes of life, opens the door and lets them in. MC questions Yu Shao, and she answers that she's lived alone for several years. Sounds start coming from a room covered by a curtain, ML asks what's inside, Yu Shao prevaricates, then screams follow. MC rushes to the the darkened room, and a foul stench assaults her nostrils. ML brings in a lamp, illuminating a huge mess and a chained, wild-looking child. Yu Shao tries to attack MC with a sharpened bamboo pole that almost hit her face, but ML saves her. Yu Shao shouts for them to leave, MC placates and assures her that she's concerned about her daughter, that she's a doctor who can help with her daughter's illness. MC asks ML to leave the room, examines the frightened girl, and confirms her suspicion that the girl also has a yin yang body. MC tells ML that they can leave, and on the way out takes with her a blunt and rusty-looking knife hanging on the wall. The part about their taking shelter in a rundown temple and MC accidentally revealing her gender is in an earlier spoiler ML Knows MC Is A Girl. Then it's back to the magistrates court. Madam Jiang appears again, demanding to have her brother released, and for the case to remain a private matter. Yu Shao makes an appearance, carrying her daughter in her arms and acting bizarre. MC takes a closer look and realises that her daughter is dead, MC becomes emotional and cries, which distresses ML. Conclusion: The victim had sexual relations with Yu Shao. She became pregnant and gave birth to a yin yang daughter. On the night of the murder, Li Zhao was drunk and tried to borrow money from the victim. The victim refused and informed Li Zhao that he'll let his sister know. Angered, Li Zhao pushed the victim and stormed off, causing the victim to sprain his ankle, fall backwards and hit his head on the tree. The victim sat up and was in the same position for some time when Yu Shao stabbed him multiple times using the same knife that was taken by the MC from the wall in the hut. Madam Jiang witnessed the murder but did nothing, instead she was relieved because she had long wanted to kill her husband who caused shame to the Li name. Li Zhao returned to see, in horror, that the victim was dead. Madam Jiang helped her brother to bury the corpse. Afterwards, she arranged to send Yu Shao and her daughter to a remote village to keep the murder quiet. About the next arc: Spoiler: Next Arc ML travels with MC to the capital for the first time after she agreed to take on the case involving 70+ burned corpses, which is supposed to take a year to complete. The corpses were exhumed and MC did a preliminary autopsy. ML and MC are forced to leave the capital for safety reasons. Included in this arc is the reappearance of Ji Pei, which is covered in the earlier spoiler Who Is Ji Pei?
