So I have been lurking in RRL these days. Checked out the best rated, which in my opinion is overrated since you only need a minimum of 3 star from small number of reviews to be included. So I ignored that. I then went to popular weekly which changes weekly aside from the favored ones. There I found a novel about cultivation but not really. Well, its easier to just say the title and you judge it yourself. The Dao of Magic Heres the link. https://royalroadl.com/fiction/11397/the-dao-of-magic Though I don't know how to link it. Anyway, I am now interested in this kind of novel. Not necessarily constrained in a cultivation settings, just the way the mc approach a subject or a situation. Or mc's philosophy. Here is another one if you are interested still. Adventures of an Old Dreamer https://royalroadl.com/fiction/17242/adventures-of-an-old-dreamer The latter is shorter so you might as well start it first if yoh are interested. Anyway, happy reading.
I got unreasonably upset when I first read adventures of an old dreamer. I've been using the names Daoist Dreamer and The Dreaming Daoist since I first started reading CNs. But since the story itself is good I got over it and just enjoyed it. MC is a bit idealistic for my tastes though.
I agree with the idealistic part, but he was living in his village all of life, the only outlook he had on the world were story, so of course he would be idealistic when he start to travel. You can try Lament of the Fallen, the cultivation system is not that unique but the story is good.
Lament of the fallen was the very first RRL novel I ever read. It gave me a very false sense of RRL standards lol.
The way to many info dumps for me You dont need to put in so Much detail into every single skill I aint gonna remember that F** it I won't even try to remember to I mean like whole chapter just to explain skills and what they can do
