Call for Heroes - RP Game

You are all warriors in your own right. You could be a powerful sorceress or a mighty paladin. You could be hailed from Planet Zern with advanced alien tech or you could be from a primitive world with expert archery and sword skills. However, you are not heroes. Your skills and experience could never match those who are titled Heroes. One more of you could never make a difference in your world.

But, don't fret. Although you can not become a hero in your world, you can certainly become one in my world.

This is a call to arms!

This is a call for brave men and women!

This is a call for heroes!

I am the Creator of my Universe. Although I cannot personally interfere with the matters of my creations, I can provide them with help. Evil exists in every dimension. And that Evil has risen in mine. Numerous villains have appeared and are wrecking havoc on the common people. I summon you all to help me, to help my people fight back Evil.

    Will you accept?

    Yes / No

    Card Description:
    Some points to know:
Race - must be intelligent and have free will. You can be a mouse for all I care as long as you can take quests and communicate with your party. Though, as a mouse, your abilities must fit your race. You can't say your mouse can shoot out spiderwebs.

Job/Class - your character can only have one class/occupation. You can evolve your class one time at the cost of your fame/infamy.

Fame/Infamy - can increase or decrease depending on the results of the quests you and your party take. Positive number = fame, while negative number = infamy. You can use fame/infamy to buy certain items/cards in the Special Shop.

Money - gained from doing quests and selling cards. You can use your money to buy stuff in Normal Shop.

    Card Types:
New players are to start out with 3 Offense Cards, 3 Defense Cards, 1 Support Card, 1 Healing Card, 5 Weakness Cards, 1 Subplot Card, and 0 Quest Misc. Cards. As you play through a quest, you will be able to pick up Quest Misc.

Offense Card - These cards are your special attack cards. Your character can do basic attacks with their weapons without the need for a "Card". However, for special offensive moves (for instance, Fireball for a sorcerer or Crescent Moon Slash for a swordsman), it would require a "Card".

Defense Card - These cards are your special block cards. Your character can do basic blocking moves with your shield (if you have one) and your body without the need for a "Card". However, for special defensive moves (for instance, Fire Wall for a sorcerer or Taiji Spirit Shield for a kung fu expert), it would require a "Card".

Support Card - These cards are your supporting cards. They include consumables (stamina potion, strength talisman, food pill, Spirit Enhancing Wine, etc), traps, repair, etc. Basically things that helps you but aren't counted as a special attack or a special block move.

Healing Card - These cards are your heals. They include health consumables, healing spell, Qi Recovery, Life Steal, bandages, etc.

Weakness Card - These cards are whatever weaknesses or shortcomings your character has. It doesn't have to be blatant like missing an arm, it can also be something that could have been considered trivial like nearsightedness. Basically anything that can interfere with your character and prevent him/her from reaching their intended goal

Subplot Card - These cards are the cards that describe your character's motivation...what drove you to join the cause. Why do you want to be a hero? Why do you come to the Quest Universe? For instance, you could have answered the QuestGiver's summons because you were "greedy for money", "for fame", "finding yourself", "for fun", "satisfying desires", "spreading your religion", etc. You are required to bring 1 Card to each quest, but you are not required to play that Card. If you choose to play the Card, you can immediately use it, or you can use it as a last resort. Depending on the situation, the Card can be determined as Good, Uncertain, or Bad Card.

Quest Misc. Card - These cards are cards given to you as rewards during the quest. It can also be cards that you pick up along the way. You can use these Cards during the quest as well. Once the quest ends, if you have leftover Quest Misc. Cards, you can take them back to the Questing Inn. Once they leave the quest, they will become your personal items. You can switch them out with your other Cards for the next quest. You can store them in your inventory. You can also trade them in Card Exchange with other players. You can bring them along with you to the next quest as Quest Misc. Cards. Finally, you can also sell them in Card Exchange with the QuestGiver to earn Fame.
Card Level - depends on how strong or how severe the card is for your character. Levels should range from 0 to 5. For instance, a level 5 weakness card could be something like missing an arm or extreme fear of slimes. It would provide a score of -5. A level 5 offensive card could be like a ritual to summon a meteor shower or an atomic bomb. It would provide a score of +5. New players start off with level 1 cards. Support and Healing cards all have a level of 0. Subplot cards have no level.

    Rules/Guidelines:
    1. Please note that this RP might deal with more mature content. If you are uncomfortable with that kind of topic, please avoid playing this RP. Please be aware of this prior to joining.
    2. When creating a character, please follow the template. The staff may give suggestions for changes when necessary.
    3. Do not make OP character. Personally, it is boring and it lack any good interaction possibility with the other member. I recommend start small and weak, but improve your character through interaction with the other member.
    4. God-modding is strictly forbidden.
    5. No messing with other people's characters. Be respectful to party members. Ask for permission first in chat before using another character in your post.
    6. Pay attention to the "How to Play" section. Feel free to ask the GM/staff in case you need more information.
    7. Please keep the mature topic in moderation. That means no explicit sexual content, no excessive swearing (it is not forbidden, but try to tone it down), and no excessive depiction of violence or any kind of mature content. The staff will warn you when we see something that goes too much.
    8. Feel free to ask if there's something not clear or you need to make sure of something.
    9. When picking up cards, limit to only one card per post. Don't hog all the cards.
    10. Main quests are on a first-come-first-serve basis. There will be a limit to how many players can join a quest. Main quests are all party quests. These quests are played with Cards and are played while in conversation with the QuestGiver.
    11. Side quests are repeatable and anyone can choose them. Side quests can be completed without using Cards and is typically done like a regular post. Players can also complete side quests by themselves. Post completed side quests under Quest Board and tag a staff or the QuestGiver.
    12. Play by starting conversation with QuestGiver. Try to take turns posting. Don't double-post unless you mention it beforehand in the conversation. When a quest is complete, the QuestGiver will post your work on the quest world's History Thread.
    13. Each player must have exactly 14 Attribute Cards to use during quests. These attribute cards include 3 offensive types, 3 defensive types, 1 support type, 1 healing type, 5 weakness types, and 1 subplot type.
    14. When posting, use cards to complete quests/side quests. Posts without cards are considered not significant in helping complete quests. You can only use maximum of one card per post. When you run out of cards to use, you can still post, but your posts will not affect the storyline much.
    15. Attribute Cards (excluding Quest Misc. Cards) are refreshed after each part. Each quest may contain up to five parts. Your cards are usually used up during each part and are reusable when the quest moves on to the next part.
    16. The story's direction will change depending on the cards used. If an even number of good cards and weakness cards are used, the outcome of the side quest may not affect the storyline much. If there are more weakness cards than good cards, the outcome may favor the villains' side and vice versa.
    _______________________________________________________________________________________

    2. After the application is approved and the prerequisites are met, the QuestGiver will open up a conversation with the participating players. They have to finished their objective while still following the rules.
    3. When signing up for a quest, please provide the Quest ID. Main quests are non-repeatable while side quests are.
    4. After finishing the quest, the QuestGiver will post the completed posts in the quest world's History Thread for others to read.
    _______________________________________________________________________________________
    How to Play:
Before a quest begins, the QuestGiver will create a private conversation between the QuestGiver and the other players. You can chat amongst yourselves while playing.

    Parts:
As each quest unfolds, there are no more than five parts per quest and no less than three parts. Each part has a number of scenes (or sub-parts) ranging from one scene to ten scenes.

    Scenes:
In each scene, there will be a number of challenges or missions to complete. These challenges come in different forms including Main Storyline, Side Mission, Obstacle, as well as a few others. In order to complete a part of a mission, you must use a "Card". Every challenge requires a certain number of Cards to complete. The more Cards needed, the harder the challenge. Each card played will provide a score whether it be negative, positive, or zero. Depending on the score, the mission could be bad, good, or uncertain.

Offense, Defense, Healing, and Support Cards are all Good Cards and if you can complete a mission with a positive score, the mission can be considered to have a "Good Outcome". Weakness Cards are Bad Cards and if you complete a mission with a negative score, the mission can be considered to have a "Bad Outcome". If the score is zero, the mission will have an "Uncertain Outcome". These outcomes can affect the upcoming scenes.

During each scene, there may or may not be a few Quest Misc. Cards provided for you to pick up and use either in that scene or later on. In addition, Quest Misc. Cards are also provided as rewards. Once a Quest Misc. Card is used during the quest, it is gone forever. When the scene is completed, you are given a few days to finalize your characters' stories before the next scene arrives.

    How to Move:
When a you choose a challenge to do, make sure to include an hashtag of the challenge you are doing at the beginning of the post (#MainStoryline; #Obstacle1). Once you selected the challenge, write under it which Card you will be using in italics. You do not need to hashtag it but know that if you use an Attribute Card, it will be used and won't refresh until the next Part. If you use a Quest Misc. Card, it will be gone forever. Make sure you write in third person.

You should take turns posting your moves. If you want to double-post, please notify in conversation beforehand.

Quest Misc. Cards are also able to be given to other players to use during a scene. They are the only Cards that are able to be given. You CANNOT give away any of the other Attribute Cards. To give a card, instead of writing it in italics at the beginning of your post, make sure to bold them instead. Then, mention in your post who you gave the Card to. The player who received the Card can then play it in his or her next turn or save it for later. If you find yourself with too many Quest Misc. Cards, you can give one or more of these Cards back to the QuestGiver by centering them in your post. Note: you won't be able to earn any fame from the Cards you returned to the QuestGiver during the quest.

    Greetings

Welcome to the Quest Universe. Congratulations and thank you for answering my summons. My universe has been overrun with Evil and there are no heroes to stand up to it. A call for heroes has been made and you are the ones who have answered that call.

You are currently in my world, specifically the Questing Inn. Here is a guide to all the places you need to know. The linked ones are available currently. There may be other locations in the future.

Questing Inn: a place to chat (in-character, for those who are not in a quest)

Quest Board: quests are posted here by the QuestGiver. The Quest Board is located in the Questing Inn.

Special Shop: place to buy items/cards using fame/infamy

Normal Shop: place to buy items/cards using money

History of the Universe: completed quests are posted here under individual worlds. Archives of the History of the Universe are located in the Library of Worlds.

Portal World: A world that links to all portals connected to different worlds in the universe including the Quest World.

OOC Thread: a place to chat (out-of-character, for those who have questions about the game to ask)

Card Exchange: players can exchange Attribute Cards with one another at the cost of fame/infamy; they cannot exchange Weakness Cards and Subplot Cards.

rp game, you've been summoned to save an universe from evil by taking quests. New players start off with 14 cards that they can use during quests. Main quests are done through starting conversations between players and the QuestGiver (me). Side quests are done like normal story-styled posts. Inspired by Storium if you've ever played that.

    Basic Info
    Name: No. 63
    Gender: Male
    Race: ???
    Age: 21
    [IMG]
    Job/Class: Monster
Equipment/Inventory: A set of clothes and bandages.
Being sold as an infant, No. 63 does not remember his parents, his birthplace or the outside world. The only thing he knows about his birth was that originally, his race was a human. That's all. One can say that the happy childhood had come to an end even before it even could have begun.
The earliest memory No. 63 can remember is a headless corpse staining the completely white room in crimson. And why was it headless? That was because the head was anturally in his hands. Perhaps he was trained as a weapon for war. Or it could have been an experiment of a mad researcher. That, No. 63 did not know and did not bother to know. The only thing it wished was to survive. As if it was forced into his head by the bloodlines, which were fighting for dominance over his body, No. 63 did everything he could to see the light of the next day, be it calming the bloodlines down, showing exemplary results as a test subject in order to be allowed to eat or murdering fellow sufferers.
One day, out of nothing, the world around him changed. No. 63 did not know why, but the facility was destroyed. At that day, men clad in black cloth intruded and killed everyone in sight. It was at that time, that the bloodlines within him erupted at once. But strangely, they did not fight each other. They helped and covered for each other's deficiencies in order to give the No. 63 a slight chance of survival. They all at the same time screamed at him: "RUN!"
And so, by a lucky series of event, No. 63 escaped the doomsday and roamed the world under the clear blue sky. It was the first time he had ever seen the wondrous outside world. But reality was harsh. For monsters, he was too human-like and humans despised him for the vampire fangs or werewolf's claws which would automatically pop out. It was only after a great effort and many hunts that No. 63 managed to reach the state of equilibrium. But he could feel that it was not enough. It was flawed. In order to remedy all of the weaknesses there were only two ways: to get rid of the bloodlines or to absorb as many as possible so they can cover for each other. Thirdly, find a bloodline strong enough to eliminate all of the other ones. The first option was a direct death as they could no longer be seperated and the second was a road to hell, neigh impossible to achieve. As for the third, there was a slight chance of success. The problem was, could he find it? And what would he do when all of the other bloodlines combine together to resist it?
Not having any choice, No. 63 could only combine the second and third path in hope have a chance of survival and at the very least enjoy the road to hell a bit, before he crosses the gate of death.
That was why he accepted the summoning call as new world equals new bloodlines and that equals to a path for survival.

first off, subplot is what drives the character to accept the summoning. be it some sort of desire or for fun. Chaos Burner seems more like a skill to me than a desire.

Next, you need to add in your Fame/Infamy = 0 and Money = 0
