Yes, why not? I feel a bit disappointed, thinking that a bit of romance could go well with certain novels, however, it is not a must.

Yeah, as long as it’s interesting and engaging enough to keep me hooked.

although I would feel that something is missing, I would read it if it is good

like TKA maybe (?) (Su Mucheng isn't even considered heroine until the very last chapter iirc)

Sure, I'd rather have a great plot rather than force romance. If the author knows that they would fail at writing a good romance and instead focus on only the plot then who am I to complain

I feel like 90% of the novels I read would be better without the heroine(s). So yes, I would gladly accept a good novel without a heroine.

Not sure if my choice is influenced by the fact i crave for a long while lately good romance without tragedy, but yeah... i would like it if MC gets a nice woman. Seeing MC being alone is not good or it's just that i didn't find good novels that wrote a good future with a MC happy but alone.

Edit: but if you tell me to choose between no romance or forced romance, i would choose no romance. But i also could think that author is just not good enough for not being able to write a good romance.

Sure, why not? A good novel means its good, with or without heroine. As long as its well written and fits my taste, I'll read it.

Also, I don't really like it when there are heroine. Why? Because they tend to be written as a form of bragging right, rather than an actual female character with a personality. Of course there are novels with well written heroine, but they are very rare

Yeah... especially Chinese ones, how many authors don't know to write a romance

Novels like Desolate Era sucks on that points and the whole thing is about his "loved ones"

So yeah, generally I would like no heroines since they apparently don't know how to write something that isn't "Jade skin, plump peaches, and smiling warmly"

    Why not?:blobconfused:
There are plenty of novels with the girls are only side-characters as best, and only the MC is the Protagonist of the novels.

Yes, but it would be difficult for such a novel to exist. Even if there are some like that, and that many people like it, I already tried to read five novels like that, and I did not like it.

i feel like your question is built on a flaw. I just cant pin down what that flaw is.

on topic: yes, it can be done. The author would just have to cut out romance all together from the story.
