MC cautiously reviews a bit of original memory, the man called Zuo YanMing, real name Zhao Chao. MC didn’t understand why game name is in front of real name, he need to find the time to reviews all the original memory. MC observe the people appearances all gorgeous, but have the feel of a mannequin, he pinch himself & fell his body is normal. They arrived at a two-storey house with large yard, but strangely no other houses are around. The other handsome man is ridiculing MC, tell him he is so weak, if he were MC, he won’t have face to live at all; MC is simply a waste of opportunities for others to live. MC intuition tells him this man is deliberately provoking him, but bc he still didn’t understand anything, he go to his room to review everything. They temporary hook players to life support & decided to clear the previous ranking & let players get points, the top 100 have the chance to escape the game. DNY join ZC team & provide money, bc he thinks as long as they can survive, money doesn’t matter, but ZC team is greedy & take DNY for granted, often let him injured & insult him, one man attitude just like trying to dive him out, he is the handsome man, Zuo GongZi Jian (Jane for short). Jane game profession is the rare & difficult refining division; he can create & increase the value of weapons, also increasing player’s energy. Jane has played the game for 10 years, he also a professional player. DNY is disappointed with ZC, the more he knows him, the more he regret ever accepting, even try the game for ZC. Later for some reason ZC married in game with Jane, then Jane trick DNY & let monsters kill him, DNY last thought is his hatred towards Jane. He hate DNY very much, when he see monster tearing DNY apart, he feel very happy. Their team smoothly enter the top 100 thanks to DNY funds, he secretly use DNY funds & get a lot of money. In reality he deliberately destroy his face & using his funds, undergo cosmetic surgery to match his avatar. Before, he make many excuse not to attend gathering, after surgery he come & amazed many people. ZC at first sad about DNY death, but later get together with the handsome Jane, many people are envious of him. MC opened his eyes & see the sky already dark, he feel that this game world is very realistic, if they are tired/sleepy they need to sleep. For MC it’s very easy to kill any player or take over group of youngster to follow him, however directly killing them is too cheap for them, he prefers to torment their hearts & minds. MC think when they discover Jane true appearance, things will get exciting. At dawn, ZC call him to go to the mall, they never give him anything, just use him for his funds, acting like an upstart. MC take what he needs, Jane see MC walk with ZC feel jealous, he take many high price goods, thought he will empty MC pocket & get rid of him. Others leisurely chatting outside, waiting for MC to pay, when MC go out, they check their inventory, but didn’t find anything. ZC ask if MC properly pay, MC blankly said he paid what he got. Others shocked, asking why, MC said he think he already paid enough before, he will not spend a penny for them anymore. Jane said other than money, MC have no other use, if he want to be protected, he have to pay. MC said he can easily find other team, they can be his bodyguard, attitude definitely will be much better than them. Others can’t refute him, bc there are rich player like MC before, but only MC quietly paid everything for them. DNY himself actually didn’t know this bc he’s a first time player, he also panicking bc this is the first time he encounter such a thing. ZC tried to be peacemaker, he tell others to go back first, he’ll persuade MC. In front of MC room, ZC tried to persuade MC, MC call him hypocrite & close his door. MC take the things he buy & use it to improve his refining level, he actually can use system to enhance the weapons, but it’ll be suspicious, so he can only do it this way. He spend day & night refining, when he’s about to rest someone knock his door, he ignore it, but the knock got louder. MC open the door & see Jane, he sneered at MC & tell him to get down bc they about to fight monsters. MC scolds him, saying he never said he want to join hunting monsters. All this time Jane deliberately took MC & let him get injured, seeing MC got hit, he feels happy. Jane said MC not willing to pay, not participate in hunting; did he expect them to protect waste like MC? MC sneering, said he is a waste in game world, Jane is a waste in real world, he despise MC, MC look down on him more. Jane arrogantly said he’s better whether in game or real world, MC call Jane real name, said he remember his appearance. Jane shocked saying he don’t understand what MC saying & denies everything. MC said no need to explain, everyone will know later. Jane friend calls him, Jane tell them to leave MC & go hunt, the friend confused, he thought Jane said he’ll teach MC this time. Jane heart is in chaos, he think he need to get rid of MC. MC busy for a while, then feel hungry, he go down to the kitchen to prepare food, the team come back in an awkward appearance, it seems the fight is a vicious one. Originally they want to take MC out to teach him how difficult it is to live here, but bc MC didn’t come out, they can only do normal hunt, but besieged by group of poisonous flying spiders that catch them unprepared, although no one die, but everyone got hit hard today. They return with serious wounds, seeing MC having a leisure meal, they feel angered. One teammate, Hei Ying use potions & hatefully see MC, before he never use high level potions, he needs to support his family, so most his money is sent to his family, he hates rich people most, he feels they like to show off their money, when MC paying, he always took the most expensive things. He also like to kill rich people, he temporary didn’t kill MC, but he don’t want MC to live better too, he knows Jane like ZC, but ZC engaged with MC, he thinks if he see his boyfriend be with others, even in game, they must feel uncomfortable. He proposed to let Jane marry with ZC so they can improve the team overall strength, many member support this, Jane full of hope, looked at ZC. ZC hesitate, Jane pull ZC to talk alone, the others cheering on them. MC watching the play, unconcerned, the plot moving more quickly than the original, but this have nothing to do with him, bc he’s going to left this team, but he needs to get ZC consent to withdraw form team, MC think he can use this to make ZC agree. ZC & Jane come back & announced they’ll get married tomorrow, ZC check MC & relieved he’s not angry, but also unhappy of his uncaring attitude. He decided to hunt monsters to gather materials, when he review the map, game system suddenly release group attack task, the reward is precisely what MC want, he transferred to the location, when he arrived, there’s already some group fighting the monster, MC use protective cover to stop rubbles flying towards him. MC waiting on sidelines, more group appeared, only him solo, ZC team appeared too, ZC ask what are MC doing, MC ignore him. A ridiculing MC, ZC call MC to take cover from the rubble, MC completely ignore them. Jane pulled ZC to quickly defeat the monster & give MC ruthless look. Most people is blown away, some directly die, MC crouch to wait the storm out. When it stopped, no one is attacking, MC know it’s dangerous, but think this is his chance, he flew to the target, but a barrage of blasting rock(?) is coming towards him, suddenly a string of thunder passing him & blast those stone a tall figure flew over him, MC follow him to see if the man need his help, he’s not used to owe others, the man seemed strong, he ward off another barrage of stones, MC think he don’t need help, suddenly a big fireball flew towards them, MC open protective cover, strengthened by system to protect himself & that man. The man surprised, don’t know if he amazed by the fireball or MC protective cover. MC send a strong energy to the man so he can finish the monster, the man didn’t resist MC energy & quickly defeat the monster. MC wait to see what items the monster give & shocked it was 2 rare & precious stones, MC feel envious of that man luck. The man’s teammate clamoring to him, MC prepares to leave, the man suddenly walked over to him, MC stunned looking at his handsome face, he’s guessing this is that man real appearance, since it doesn’t look fake. The man split the treasures with MC, MC surprised, didn’t think the man so generous, splitting the treasure in half with him, MC accept & notice his game name is Zuo QiFeng (ML), ML ask if DNY is his real name, MC said yes, ML ask if MC don’t have a team, MC tell him he just quit a team, hasn’t join another team yet, ML immediately invite him to his team, A team. MC surprised, see ML teammate looks decent & good, he act like considering this, but is reviewing the people using system. The crowd notices the treasure split with MC, saw MC is solo, they’re thinking of killing MC & take the treasure. ZC seeing MC considering the offer, ask MC to come back to his team, MC immediately reject him, ZC try to coax MC, saying his team has agree to let MC come back, MC notice his team showing greed in their eyes. After MC left the team don’t have any fund to buy good items, they regret driving MC out too soon, also MC now have the rare stones. MC tell ML he agree to join him, ZC yelling at MC urgently, but ignored. ML immediately accepts MC, from system, MC knows ML & his team is reliable. Others see A team impressive weapons didn’t dare to make trouble, ZC tightly grip his fist, watching them go. ML team residence is luxurious 3-storey villa with garden & swimming pool. They held welcome banquet for MC, MC know the people in this team mostly is influential & successful people in real world, they did not seem to worry of their survival, MC think this is the true self-confidence, rather than keep worrying, it’s better to work harder. The next morning, MC saw one teammate complaining about his weapon, MC offered to repair it. MC quickly repair it & the teammate surprised that MC doing it so quickly, he’s a bit distrustful bc repair shop usually have to spend 5-6 hours to fix the weapon, but receive it anyway. Other teammate notifies them that their capture target appeared. MC task is to protect & increase their energy, when the teammate use the weapon MC refined, they all shocked seeing the powerful performance. They smoothly defeated their target, everyone is excited & praise MC. ML tell them to go back, then staring at MC, thinking he never thought he’ll inexplicably fall in love in a game with a man. Back in the house, the team discussing MC’s strong protective cover & MC’s op refining skill, they ask MC to help them refine their weapon, in exchange; MC can take anything he wants from their inventory. ML tells MC not to overdo it & that he have given MC a way to access his & team space/inventory. MC surprised, even partners rarely done so, he jokingly ask if ML not afraid he’ll sell everything for cash? ML subconsciously want to say if it’s MC, he can take it all, but feel that it’s not appropriate, he just said he don’t doubt MC. MC thanked ML, ML rubbed MC’s hair, they both stunned, ML just unconsciously move, feels like he have done this countless time, very natural, MC feel familiar feelings. When ML left, MC feel a bit disappointed bc he didn’t get any familiar feeling from staring at ML’s eyes, but think he’ll have chance to prove his suspicion. In less than 2 days, MC finished modifying all weapon, the team really like it. Suddenly storm come & the game system announced a task for tomorrow. The team go to buy serum to resist poison, coincidentally, ZC team also want to buy the item. ZC ask them to give up the item to them, bc they come first, A team disagree, bc both side want to buy the item, according to the rules, it enters auction process. ZC team barely able to afford item’s original price, but they don’t want to give up. To safe face, they keep bidding against ML, suddenly MC tell ML to give up the bid, Jane angrily ask why, MC said the price increases too much, there’s another item with that price with better effect. Jane is very angry but can’t retract the bid; in the end Jane pay the penalty for cancelling. Next day, A team choose the best lodging, HY complaining MC preferential treatment, others feel if they didn’t drove MC out, they’ll enjoy luxurious accommodation. ZC want to pull MC to talk, MC refuse, when MC teammate try to help MC, ZC tell them MC is his boyfriend. ML coldly looked at ZC, MC tell ZC he is a married man, they don’t have any relationship anymore, he’s not even ex-boyfriend, only old classmates. ZC begs MC to let him talk, MC asks for ML permission with puppy eyes, at first ML silent, but seeing MC face, he can’t refuse. MC tell ZC he only have 2 minutes, ZC ask if A Team let MC pay everything, MC ask what’s his problem, ZC said he’s worried they’ll squeeze MC clean, then abandon him. On the mission, many players shocked seeing A Team weapon’s performance & MC strong protective cover. A Team set the record for shortest time to complete the task. Suddenly his bath towel fall to the water, he quickly pick & wear it, ML hand intentional/unintentionally touch MC buttock, face burning, MC thank ML & flee. MC annoyed with himself, he don’t know yet if ML is his love, also, he didn’t feel disgusted at all. He resolved to find out. ZC team is puzzled with MC’s strong protective cover, they waited for A team to retreat from the target monster, so they can take advantage after the monster is weak, but A team obviously overwhelming the monster. Jane whisper something to HY, HY agree, he raise a mole(?), it can make hole on any material. They planned to let the mole make a hole on MC cover & kill him, so they can kill the target monster. MC notice the mole & guess what they want to do, HY attack MC, but unable to. A team notice HY & turn their weapon on him. MC tells A team to kill target monster & leave HY to him, they agree. ZC team is shocked seeing MC able to deploy 2 protective cover, even Jane can’t do it. MC whip HY to death, ZC tried to stop him, but MC ignores him. ZC team attack MC protective cover, but unable to breach it, ZC tried to negotiate, asking why MC so vicious, MC sneer HY is the one who start it, so HY can attack, but he can’t defend himself? MC said he hate this kind of people, if ZC have to ability, they can help him take revenge, then proceed to kill HY. They quarreled for a while, Jane attack MC, but got whipped, he witness MC whip HY to death, he don’t want to experience it. ZC team about to attack MC, but suppressed by A team impressive aura(?). ZC tells MC they are now enemies & left. A team currently ranked first by a wide margin. MC examine the treasure dropped by target monster, if MC can study the treasure, he can solve the game problem & save everyone. MC go to ML room, ML only wearing bath towel, MC enter the room & seeing ML didn’t plan to dress, MC suddenly feel thirsty. MC report to ML he found problem with the treasure that might be directly related to the game problem. ML ask MC to elaborate, MC show ML what he found, also said he’s able to raise weapon’s energy so high is bc he found the wrong code & revised it. MC said the error code at refining process might be the cause of game system failure. ML starts an emergency conference with A team & explain everything. MC said he’s about 90% sure this is the problem, in theory he can solve it. ML ask MC to try, if MC really can do it, they will contact the game technician. MC & one teammate busy for 2 days, then stopped bc of new mission. The team split into group of 2-3 to search for target monster. MC & ML found it, they see a beautiful female player crying for help, ML quickly kill the monster. The girl thanking MC & ML, when she’s about to approach them, ML wields his weapon towards her. The girl act pitiful, asking if MC & ML don’t feel bad bullying a girl, MC think how can he feel bad? This is the first time he done such a thing. The girl said she’ll do anything as long as they don’t kill her, MC tell her that her acting is bad, the monster said since they discover her identity, she can’t beat them, can only let them slaughter her, but she invite them to ‘play’ with her first. ML expressionless, MC 囧. The monster slowly untie her clothes, MC said he don’t like women, ML said he’s the same. The monster stunned, said she miscalculated, then turn into a man. ML said it’s not his type, the monster ask what’s his type. ML looked at MC said he like someone like him, but it’s no use if the monster imitate MC, fake is a fake. MC blushing, the monster surprised, thinking they are lovers, she/he quickly try to escape, MC use something to capture her/him, suddenly 2 man appeared asking loudly what they are doing. It’s ZC & Jane, the monster ask them to save her/him. ZC scolds MC, ML coldly say either go or die with her/him. ML fought with ZC, MC take out his whip, Jane use protective cover, but shattered by a single whip from MC, Jane terrified, retreat a few steps. MC whip Jane when he notify his team, he said to Jane he hate people imitating his face, how about he destroy his face now? Jane terrified, trembling, the monster asks MC not to use the whip to kill her/him, she/he wants to die beautiful. When ZC team arrives, ZC & Jane is lying on the ground covered in blood, Jane’s face badly scarred. A team also arrives & ask ML such a good show, why don’t they inform them earlier. MC tells them to let ZC team go, ML reluctant, he wants to take revenge for MC, MC tell him to keep them alive to suffer. ML tell them to scram in 5 seconds, ZC team took ZC & Jane & flee. One of A team ask who is the monster (currently in female form), she appealed to him to save her, another person said he don’t like big breasted woman, he likes flat chested men. The monster’s heart suffered a million damage, she resolved next time will use male form to tempt player. A team finish the task & got lots of points. They go back & try to solve the error code, they contacted the technicians & told them the problem. The game technician reported to their superior & agree to try MC approach. ML tell MC he’ll escort him to MC room, MC a bit confused but didn’t refuse. In front of the door, ML kiss MC, but MC didn’t feel the familiar feeling. MC enter his room & feel upset, then guessing that maybe he don’t feel it bc they are now in game world. MC resolved to keep a certain distance with ML for now, bc he can’t bear to love 2 different person. The game technician release an announcement about MC finding, for now players need to join A team, but they have to let MC freely enter their space/inventory, so he can take all the error code. A lot of player is tempted bc A team is now in the leading position, guaranteed to be in 100 rank, but they hesitate bc of the requirement to let MC enter their space/inventory. Some weaker team join A team to ensure survival, more team is tempted to join too. ZC team feels conflicted, they have bad blood with A team, but they want to survive. ZC & Jane still injured from the last time, Jane have an idea to join other team, bc only 100 exit available, A team will only allow 100 member, they can join other team to oppose A team. Others is unconvinced, but ZC agree, they unite with several team, soon, A team have 100 member, lots of people regret their hesitation to join A team. The member that join A team still feel wary A team will take all their inventory, but they found A team never stir up trouble, no infighting, no other requirement for them. Moreover, although some treasures are taken from their space, it wasn’t long before the treasure is returned even better than the original performance, they feel very happy. The team that join together to oppose A team called themselves Joint Counterattack. When the 3rd mission opened, they planned to besiege A team. The people in JC team are selfish, thinking they can at least reduce A team member, so they have the chance to join A team. The 3rd mission is in a maze, JC team quickly occupy the hills & wait to ambush A team. When ML call MC to come over, MC hesitate, others quickly urge them to finish the mission, MC depressed, thinking he recently deliberately avoid ML, bc if ML is not his love, he don’t want to deepen their feelings. ML push MC to a wall to avoid trap, then ask why MC avoid him, MC said they have task, ML said the task is unimportant, then demand MC to answer him. MC bite the bullet & tell ML he don’t want temporary feelings, he don’t want to start anything in game world, he want real relationship. ML ask if ZC leave shadow in MC heart, MC denied it, saying he don’t have feeling toward ZC. MC sincerely looked at ML, they can try when they go back to reality, ML agree, but demand MC not to avoid him in reality or he will use any means to stop MC from hiding. MC said wait until they go back to reality, ML dissatisfied but didn’t push MC further. Meanwhile, JC team is defeated, many of their members die, they fought with each other, blaming ZC & Jane, never thought A team weapon will be so powerful. JC team split up. A team successfully complete the mission. A few days later, A team give an announcement that they accept more member, MC has solved the error code & set more escape exit. Lots of player excited, A team new member couldn’t help but feel nervous, they think if more player join A team, their survival rate will drop. Game system notify player that the number of escape exit increases, the number is exactly the same with the member A team has accepted. A team veteran member explained everything to the new member, the new member happy & full of gratitude. Only ZC team is in a complex mood, in the end they still want to live, so they resolved to ask for MC forgiveness & give back what MC has given them so he’ll let them join A team. ZC said as long as they can all join, whatever request MC ask, he’ll do it. He thought, surely MC will exclude him & Jane. Two of A team member see that ZC team come, they thought they’ll choose death than join them, they decided to see what ZC team going to say. ZC ask them to call MC bc they want to apologize. MC think for a moment & accept the bouquet, Feng Qi is ML real name, MC wondered how ML know he liked white roses? MC recall the first time he like white rose is from the first world ML, he always sent MC white roses. ML suddenly appeared behind MC, ask MC if he like it. MC said which one did he ask, the rose or the wine? ML said both, MC said he really like it. After dinner MC still feel nervous, ML offered to send MC back, MC refuse said he have a car, ML said then you send me back. MC nervous but he have to know sooner or later, so he let ML send him back. At MC home, he kiss ML, ML stunned for 2 second, then kiss MC back forcefully. MC feel the familiar feeling almost cry, he didn’t love the wrong person, whatever the circumstances, the one he falls in love with is his lover. They happily go to bed together (chapter 67). The next morning, ZC come to apologize to MC, MC said he’ll forgive ZC as long as he never show up in front of MC ever again. ZC beg MC to give him a chance, ML come out wearing only bathrobe, ZC accuse MC of infidelity, MC couldn’t careless & shut his door. When ZC come back to his home, he notice Jane & angrily yelled at him not to find him ever again. Jane pitifully said they already married, ZC said it’s only a game, everything is fake, then enter his home. ML introduce MC to A team veteran, they call MC sister-in-law, MC discovered they all childhood friend & in reality ML also the leader. After the party ML bought MC back to his home, saying from now on this is their home. For MC every encounter is a miracle, so he especially cherish the short time they have together, the daily kiss, hug & sleep is his precious memory..

Starting from Arc 10 onwards, is when the Antagonist and sometimes the ML start showing signs of being aware of reincarnating. However, none of them have clear awareness of what's going on, with one exception in the last world.

Spoiler: Arc 11: Game Designer

MC wakes up extremely tired in a car headed for a business party. He's the president of a game company. He doesn't have time to read about his backstory further, as they've arrived, at the same time as the president of a larger rival company. They exchange pleasantries, but the minute they shake hands, both are jolted by a shock, and MC realizes that's his lover.

At the party, the original MC's plan was to mingle and make connections, but now the MC has the strong instinct that he shouldn't do this. He decides to trust his instincts and leave early. The ML of course notices and catches him before he leaves, making a few sarcastic comments about MC's company's situation because they are after all rivals. However, the MC has never had his lover talk that way to him before, even if the guy doesn't remember, so he shoots a angry comment back and immediately leaves. The ML catches the hurt in the MC's eyes, and feels inexplicably guilty.

MC heads home and his dad tells him his younger brother is going to be working at the company starting tomorrow. MC's immediate instinct is loathing, and he doesn't bother to hid his reactions. He argues with the family, who obviously has no place for him, and then leaves for his own apartment. There, he finally looks up the details of his place in this world.

The game company he's in used to be languishing under his dad, who's not very competent. It only started to head into the black under the original MC, who had been exhausting himself to do so because many of the people in the company are more interesting in jockeying for position and working against him than for him. His parents were married as part of a business partnership between the families, and neither were willing. His mom had tried several times to escape the marriage, even suicide, but was basically under house arrest until the MC was born. His dad had a mistress that he loved more, but couldn't marry her until his parents died, and then he switched his wife's meds so that she died, before he was able to marry the mistress. He dotes on the younger son with that former mistress, not knowing the kid is actually the son of that mistress and a friend of his. He also has a sorta adopted son, who he also treats better than the MC.

The original MC did all the hard work in getting the company in the black and producing a good game, and then got killed off in a plot by the 'younger brother' (hence: Antagonist) and the adopted son, who would then enjoy inheriting all the benefits of the family and the company. He new MC decides he can't be faffed about doing work for a company that someone else is going to enjoy. So the next day, he calls a board meeting and basically announces he's stepping down from his position and quitting the company entirely, and selling all of his stock at high price. The younger brother and adopted son are of course happy because that's one of the things they always wanted. The shrewder old board members of course realize that MC was the only one holding the company together, and he would probably do even better if he starts his own company without all the backstabbers below him.

MC however surprises everyone in the business world keeping tabs on him. He basically lazes around for a few days to catch up on sleep, and then posts up his resume online. Everyone is surprised that someone who used to be president of a company would be looking for a normal job rather than starting a new company. But MC is obviously waiting to catch a specific fish. Lo and behold, not a few hours after posting the resume, the ML shows up at his door, with an offer to collaborate rather than simple hiring. MC would get his own game design department and team to do with as he wishes. MC agrees, and ML then stays to mooch off his cooking.

MC decides to create a game in a futuristic space opera setting, using a lot of elements from the setting in Arc 8. He stays late a lot while working, and the ML would often visit with food for the whole development team. Everyone could recognize the obvious courting behavior, and so no one is going to make trouble for MC for being given such a free hand after just joining the company.

One day while idly talking over dinner, ML reveals that he's been having recurring dreams of a lover in many different times and settings. He could never see the lover's face clearly, but has the instinct that they're the same person. Only after the time they had met at that party, did the face slowly began to be revealed as similar to the MC. The MC is very shocked at this lover is beginning to recall his other incarnations, but doesn't continue the line of conversation. Underneath, he's very confused, shocked, and worried about what the hell was going on. He searches the system, and realizes that he's not able to see any info any longer on any of his own past incarnations, nor any of his lovers past incarnations, but can see details of other people. So confused! What do! Just as he's panicking, the system suddenly activates and calms him down. He's surprised the system has this function, but now calm, decides to handle things as they come.

Anyway, the Conquering the Stars game gets finished and is immediately a huge success. Meanwhile, the Antagonist, true to his nature, insisted that he was going to create a space opera game as well to compete against the MC. However, despite spending a lot of money hiring a lot of experienced designers, the sheer incompetency of his management is still dragging production down.

The Antagonist decides to play the MC's game to see what he's up against, and the shock of subconscious recognition of the setting causes him to get hooked on the game such that he neglects his health and nearly goes crazy when his parents realize what was going on and cut him off, madly attacking them and ending up hurt and briefly hospitalized. ML tells the MC about this, which arouses MC's suspicions. He does a system search and finds out he's also not able to get info on the previous incarnation of his main antagonist. So now he realizes there's 3 people constantly reincarnating and seemingly playing out similar roles each time, but only he carries the full memories each time.

Anyway, despite cutting off playing the MC's game, the antagonist is still a bit unhinged, or maybe he was just normally delusional. He insists on a sharp deadline for finishing the game despite people saying it's not ready. He pours money into advertisement saying his game is better than the MC's, getting all the netizens hopes up. And then the game comes out and it flops, leaving the company in the red and their reputation ruined. He tries to dump the liability on the dev team, but they've had enough of his incompetency and abuse, and many just quit on the spot. The company's board calls the Antagonist to the carpet and tells him they're going to replace him.

Antagonist decides to cut his losses, which is to basically get his 'dad' to hand over his companies shares and whatever other properties and money, which then he would just liquidate and then just run away with the money. MC of course anticipated this, and shows up at the old house while the dad is alone, and dumps on him a DNA test he had performed on him and his 'brother'. They're not related, meaning only one of them could be the dad's biological son. Since MC's mom had been in house arrest the entire time from before the marriage to her death, there's pretty much no possibility for her to cheat. Still, the dad had a single sliver of hope and performs his own DNA check of his younger son against him self secretly, and then finds out the real truth that he was betrayed by the mistress he loved into pushing away his only real son for a false son.

He visits the MC to hand over his remaining properties because there's no one else anymore. MC only accepts the house deed of the ancestral home and says he doesn't care about the rest. He also tells his dad that his grandparents deaths wasn't an accident, but a conspiracy by his mistress, the friend she had the kid with, and his adopted kid. Beset by one too many shocks, the dad goes home and goes public with the information, suing his former friend, the mistress, and the false son for fraud, theft, etc. This ruins the family of his friend (who was also married from a powerful family), gets all the stocks and money he'd handed over to the Antagonist, and drags all their names through the mud.

He then invites that friend and his (now ex-)wife to a meal, ostensibly to settle the rest of the suit privately. But really he poisoned their food so that they all died. At the same time, he tampered with the brakes of the car the Antagonist and the adopted son was in, causing them to crash. MC learns of this on the news and asks ML if he did this. ML says he was going to, but the dad actually got ahead of him and did everything on his own. MC is surprised because he didn't think the man had it in him, since he loves face so much. He feels a little pity for the man. But ML soon recaptures his immediate attention because they still have a full life ahead of them.

Spoiler: Arc 12 Life of Music

MC wakes up on a beach with the beginnings of a cold, near some media crew who were prepping to shoot an MV for a pop star who the original MC was a fan of. He walks over to the group, just as the director got a call that the person who was doing the background drums got in a bar fight and can't come. He asks the people standing around if anyone knows how to work the ancient style drums, and MC volunteers without even thinking about it. So they let him try the part and he does really well, impressing both the director and the big shot star, who turns out to be the ML.

Original MC was a upcoming pop musician who has a lot of creative talent in writing lyrics and music, but so-so vocal ability. He has two friends, one who used to be his BF, and who is a manager of the recording company he works for. The other (the Antagonist) lied about having only 2 years left to live (he actually already had a heart transplant done overseas), and used that to steal MC's BF, as well as to get the ex-BF to use MC's lyrics/music for his songs, making him a well known pop artist while MC still remains unknown in the industry. MC's original self had fallen asleep on the beach that night, and came down with a severe cold. His so-called friend (the Antagonist) then lied to him to get him to do a lot of voice recording while his throat was still infected from the cold, thus permanently injuring his vocal cords, and ruining any future hope at a vocal career, relegating him to continuing to write songs to further the Antagonist's career.

Anyway, after the MV production is done, ML invites the MC with him to the van for a ride home. He notes that MC cold is getting worse, so much that he couldn't stand properly when they got to his apartment, and decides instead to take him home with him. However, once he got the MC onto his bed, he feels as if a strange force takes control of his body, and he ends up having sex with the half-delirious MC. He feels guilty afterwards for taking advantage, and after MC wakes up again, says he'll take responsibility. MC teases him, but tells him that he'll call it even if ML can help him end his contract with this current recording company.

MC stays for a few days until he recovers from his illness, then goes home. His ex-BF (who still has feelings for MC and is only with the Antagonist out of guilt/pity) visits him to ask about where he's been. MC tells him he wants to break away from the company. Ex-BF refuses. MC tells him he'll be sending lawyers (and by that he means ML's lawyers). In the end, he cuts ties with the old company.

MC enters a music contest (which his original self was not able to enter due to a ruined voice). ML finagles his way into becoming one of the judges of the contest. MC's entry recording ends up hitting 2nd place in the popular votes, nearly tying for the Antagonist's first place entry.

I won't go into details about the specifics of the contest, but suffice it to say that MC takes first place in all areas and wows the critics and the audience, while Antagonist doesn't do very well at all and gets a lot of harsh criticism from ML. The ex-BF visits him once and tries to ask him to throw the last match because Antagonist only has 2 years to live, yaddayadda, and Antagonist fakes fainting in one of the matches so he can post online about his terminal illness to get pity votes. However, MC still wins the contest.

The next morning, the entertainment news reveals the fact that Antagonist had already performed surgery several years ago and is lying about still having a terminal illness. This causes a huge backlash from his fans. Also, causes an altercation between the ex-BF and Antagonist, which results in Antagonist falling down the stairs and falling unconscious.

At that exact moment, MC also suddenly goes dizzy and blacks out. Then he has a vision of two young men in ancient style garb in a palace chamber. One of the young men suddenly takes out a knife and stabs the other in the heart. MC feels a sharp pain as if he was stabbed in the heart. (Note: MC doesn't know this yet, but he's actually seeing a scene from the backstory of his next incarnation.)

MC is woken up by ML, who is anxious about his suddenly falling unconscious. MC just says maybe he's tired, and also notes that he actually has been tired a lot both in the last life and this one, such that when not immersed in immediately work, he's basically spending all his time eating or sleeping. He had dismissed it the last incarnation as maybe just the nature of that incarnation being a stay-at-home kinda guy, but now he's not sure this is normal, but he can't do much about it.

Meanwhile, while Antagonist in unconscious in the hospital, he recalls fragmented bits and pieces of his previous incarnations. When he wakes up, he realizes he no longer loves the ex-BF anymore, and that the only thing he feels is a strong urge to destroy the MC and make sure he doesn't get a happy ending. He stalks the building where MC works at, and then jumps out at him with a knife. However, the ex-BF had been staking out the building too (trying to get MC back), and when he sees this, he gets in the way and gets stabbed. There was poison on the knife, so he dies on the way to the hospital. Antagonist of course is arrested and convicted, and there's no more bright future for him.

Spoiler: Arc 13 Anyang Saga

MC wakes up alone at night in the wild. He gets up and looks round for somewhere to shelter from the cold night wind. Then gets a scare because there's a person who appears right behind him and attacks. Not knowing what's going on but feeling a danger to his life, MC dials up his martial ability from the system, exchanges a few blows with the mysterious attacker. During the exchange, they get into an area where there's moonlight. MC realizes his opponent is ML. While ML is shocked by the pretty face of the person he's facing and pauses a bit. This gives MC a chance to run away.

However, MC's body's stamina isn't good, and after a while, he's forced to stop and seek shelter at an abandoned temple. He recalls his body's memories, and understands he's in a world with no females, and instead feminine males who are able to give birth. MC is princess Anyang, the daughter of the previous emperor and essentially known as the fairest person in the land.

Before MC could recall further, he's suddenly attacked again. This time he let's himself be taken captive, because he's fairly certain ML won't kill him. ML however thinks he's a honey pot spy/assassin, and questions him about who sent him. MC doesn't know what to answer as he hasn't finished recalling everything from this life yet and doesn't know what's safe to say, so refuses to answer. ML strips him and ties him up in his bed, before going off to complete his latest mission, which is to kill the king of the enemy country.

MC takes the chance to finish recalling the current life's memories: The Antagonist is a transmigrated person who's family rebelled and slaughter the emperor and the prince (MC's brother). They had originally wanted to keep Anyang around to be forcibly wedded to the brother of the Antagonist, but the Antagonists rampant jealousy caused him to stab Anyang in her chambers (this was the scene MC saw in the last incarnation). However, one of the hidden agents of the old emperor used some special medicine to help fake MC's death and instead smuggled her out to a small border town. He then left to try and contact other loyal factions, but had died in a fight soon after. Meanwhile, Anyang spent the last 7 years in hiding, each month gathering special herbs to hide her appearance. The effects of the herbs had just wore off when he met the ML, thus allowing him to see her true beauty. Also, the ML is the son of a loyalist general who holds most of the military power of the nation. The general had never truly recognized the rule of the Antagonists family, and hence the current rule of the traitor faction has remained unstable all these years.

ML eventually returns from his job and tells MC that the king of the southern kingdom is dead, still thinking MC is a spy. MC doesn't really care. ML keeps pressing him further, and then decides it doesn't matter if MC is a spy since he can just kill whoever sent the spy anyways, and then goes on to have his way with MC. After they have sex, MC finally admits who he is. He doesn't have any proof on him, but knows that ML's dad will recognize his face once they get back to the capital. Even though ML still looks skeptical, in his heart he immediately believes the MC.

On the way back to the capital, MC realizes that ML had drugged him (during their initial sex session) with something that causes aphrodisiac effects every once in a while. He demands the antidote, but ML prefers to use sex to "cure" him instead. MC also objects to ML not being careful about pregnancy, since his body is now capable of it, but ML is nonchalant about it and says if pregnancy happens then it happens, and that he's fine to have the kid carry on Anyang's imperial surname instead of his.

They get back to the capital. ML's dad confirm's Anyang's identity. Antagonist sees ML with the returning army and gets a crush on him, inviting him out to an imperial boat cruise. ML rejects the invitation. MC makes some jealous comments and decides that they should have their own boat cruise. He puts on a disguise to hide his appearance, and they go out that night on ML's boat. As they approach the imperial boat, MC realizes that some of the music that the Antagonist is showing off is actually the music written by MC's previous incarnation. Still, that doesn't prevent him from picking up a pipa and showing up the Antagonist. Antagonist is angry at being shown up, and is further humiliated when ML says the musician is his fiance, and the only person he loves.

Antagonist goes and asks his dad the current emperor to decree a marriage between him and ML instead, but the emperor is unsure about it. Antagonist promises he'll be able to seduce ML, and then uses some tricks to cause a "supernatural sign" or ill omen. He then hires some daoists to spread the rumor that there's someone in the capital born under a blood star, which will cause calamity unless his fate can be changed by marriage to someone of a suitable opposition to his fate.

According to the daoists, the way to determine the person who will be able to cure the blood star destiny needs to be able to walk across a field of burning coal. MC of course mixes some potions beforehand that allows him to complete this task easily. Antagonist also forces himself to complete the task, though he gets burnt painfully doing so.

The second sign to determine the destined person is to call the hundred birds from the air. Antagonist had rigged the hot air balloon setup so that it would fall and kill the MC, but MC doesn't even bother using it, and instead uses a lightness technique to rise into the air while using a flute to call the hundred birds.

After he comes down, MC's activates his plan to counterattack. A mass of black crows descend upon the divine stone that was used for the original prophecy, as a sign of ill omen. When the crows leave, they leave behind bloody writing that directly states that the current imperial family are traitors that will bring calamity to the world. Since this whole event was open to the public, this immediately causes the public to call for the general to save them from whatever calamity is coming.

Anyway, at this point, the fight is on. ML has command of the military forces and they clash against the palace guards and whatever imperial military is still in the city. Of course the ML's forces win and they force their way into the palace. There, MC reveals she's the lost princess Anyang, and proves her identity by revealing the location of the hidden imperial seal that the traitors had never been able to find all these years.

And so the Antagonist & family are executed and go down in history as traitors. ML's family restores the original dynasty instead of starting their own. While ML acts as emperor, he's more of a regent until MC can give birth to the next real emperor.

MC spends his time lazying away in the palace. At one point in mid-life, he thinks that everything that he needs to accomplish in this life for a happy ending has been accomplished. Then, he falls asleep and wakes up in the system, instead of finishing the rest of his life until natural death like previous incarnations. Before he can wonder why this last incarnation finished early, he's sent into the next world.

Spoiler: Arc 14 Apocalypse Rebirth

MC wakes up in an empty college classroom. He picks up his backpack and is about to leave when a group of "friends" come in, one of them asking to borrow money for his dad's hospital bills. This time MC instinctively recognizes him as the Antagonist (just like he is able to recognize ML when he sees him), and so immediately refuses. The other kids try to speak up for the Antagonist, but MC doesn't even bother to be friendly about the rejection. He also demands to see the hospital paperwork before he'll consider giving money, because he suspects that the story is false.

After getting rid of the other kids, MC goes home and reviews his backstory. He's a rich second generation, with both parents dead and living by himself. His original body is a very independent person, and had a few friends who were more acquaintances than true friends. When Antagonist showed up at the school, he was a white lotus who easily got those 'friends' to revolve around him instead, and drove original MC out of the circle.

It would've been a harmless schoolyard thing, but in a few more days, there would be a day of black sun, followed by zombie apocalypse. Original MC had access to several high security warehouses of medical resources that belonged to his family, and used that to maintain status/living. Antagonist got a gang to attack one of these places to take the resources by force, but the security measures were able to hold them off, and let original MC get away with his resources. Later on, people started to develop powers. Both original MC and Antagonist got powers and clashed several times at mostly even scores. In the end, they fought and killed each other. At that point, Antagonist was reborn to 10 days before the black sun. He planned to used the fake story about his dad being in the hospital to get a lot of money from MC, and then use that to buy resources such as guns. Then he planned to lure MC out somewhere and kill him. Thus when the apocalypse starts, he can take his time in seizing MC's assets for his benefit.

Of course, now that the new MC is here, he's also essentially reborn, in that he knows what happened in both the original timeline, and what would've happened in the current timeline. He immediately sends new orders to the managers of his family's companies to prep for what's to come. Then uses the system to find a selection of the best available ex-military bodyguards and hires them. He then moves the resources that are in the less secure warehouses to more secure and hidden locations, and also makes additional purchases of armaments from the black market. Finally, he moves out of his house to a more defensible estate outside the city, and fortifies it.

In these days, MC doesn't both going to classes. So Antagonist finally shows up to MC's house along with his lackey. MC has been waiting for just this. He remote controls the house to let them in. There's no one in the house of course, but there's a cellphone suspiciously placed on the front table, which Antagonist picks up. MC had placed an explosive in it, which he activates and blows up the Antagonist's hand.

When the apocalypse finally comes, MC is ready. He implies to his bodyguards that he has the ability to see the future (which is sorta true). He hands out the weapons he had altered in the days before hand, and tells the bodyguards the best way to handle zombies. Then they drive out to a high tech medical facility where the government has been performing research on the phenomenons that had been occurring even before the day of black sun. He hacks the system and retrieves the only high level zombie core in existence at the moment. Soon afterwards, Antagonist also arrives for the same goal. They fight but MC wins because he has professional backup rather than some college kids. He also takes the medical researcher the Antagonist had kidnapped to open the security when he leaves, though not before he makes Antagonist beg for his life.

Back at base, MC uses the system to activate his superpowers, and then absorbs the zombie core to boost it. He plans to hole up in the base until the bodyguards start developing powers. But a few days later, he's informed that the base has been surrounded by the military. With his new powers, he immediately finds Antagonist in one of the cars.

MC first shows off his altered guns and his superpowers, forcing the military forces to back off. He then drives out with his bodyguards to talk to the military leader. Having seen MC's ability, the military leader is of course willing to throw Antagonist under the bus in order to get MC's allegiance and resources. Antagonist attacks him, and MC shows off his powers again and crushes his hopes.

Then a helicopter shows up, along with more military cars. The leader of this military group is ML, from the main military zone (the previous military group Antagonist came with had split off and established independence from the main group). Given the choice, MC obviously picks to go with ML, though not before playfully making ML promise him to always personally cater to whatever he wants in the future.

Once they arrived at ML's military zone, MC feels secure enough to wipe his hands of all the hard work. He tells ML where all of his stockpiled resources are located and the security passwords, then just leaves the military and his body guards to do the rest. All of this plus ML's care of course allows him to maintain a high status in the zone. MC lives next door to ML in the same suite, and he also tells ML that he has reborn knowledge, which he passed off to his bodyguards as precognition. They start having sex, but gets interrupted by new orders for the ML. Before he leaves, ML tells him that the other military zone that Antagonist was with has been forcefully reabsorbed back into the main military force, and it's possible that Antagonist has been moved to the current zone with the other refugees.

In this era before people have not yet naturally developed superpowers, and as a refugee absorbed from a rival zone, Antagonist and his friends are put to work at menial labor. There are guards posted everywhere, enforcing martial law, though everyone in the zone knows MC gets special treatment because of his ability and status. So MC sets up a lawn chair and an umbrella stand nearby where Antagonist is slaving away and just lounges around savoring their resentment.

ML gets back and they finally have sex. Later on, ML shows up where MC is lounging around the Antagonist, and pulls him away. Antagonist guesses relationship and is filled with jealousy.

When ML has to leave again, MC warns him to be careful, because it's close to the time powers start naturally showing up, and there is a period of time when they show up when they will be unstable for the user. ML's group returns some time after powers start showing up, but he was injured in the mission. The military got all the people with healing related powers to try and heal him, which includes Antagonist, but it turned out that ML's body rejected his ability. MC can have his powers be of any function due to the system, so he shows up next and is able to heal ML. MC finds out that ML got injured because their mission was attacked by a large group of zombies led by a zombie king. He is surprised because there were only 5 zombie kings in existence.

Antagonist fainted due to the effects of the power rejection and seeing MC succeed where he failed again. When he wakes up, he finds that his healing power is gone, possibly due to the severe rejection / power backlash he received. He decides he can't take remaining in this zone anymore. However, none of his friends are willing to leave with him into unknown danger. So in the end he leaves by himself.

Meanwhile, MC is distracted by MLs recovery and then more sex. During his time unconscious, ML vaguely recalls a feeling that he has been long separated by vast distance and span of time from MC. Even when they're together during sex, he still feels as if he's still desperately waiting for reunion. So much that he uncontrollably whispers "I miss you; come back soon".

Soon afterwards, MC predicts that the time for the second super zombie core to appear is at hand. He accompanies ML on the mission this time, to an ancient tomb. He's also certain that Antagonist knows of this too, and is likely to show up as well. Sure enough, when they forcefully enter the tomb, they see a zombie king and the Antagonist, who appears to have joined forces with the opposing species, becoming a kind of half-zombie state. They fight verbally and physically, and the ML+MC duo of course wins and destroys the opposition. MC feels a little conflicted over the Antagonist's death, but only because he kinda wanted him to suffer further.

With 2 zombie kings dead, there's only 3 left. Afterwards, given the population has powers, regular zombies would no longer be a threat to humanity. MC finds that he's now suddenly sleeping for longer and longer periods of time, and that it's hard to remain awake or be roused to wake outside of when he's needed to fight. He realizes this started from when Antagonist died and he subconsciously realized that his overall mission in this life is more or less completed, and that the narcolepsy is caused by his soul trying to leave this world and return to the system. Sure enough, after killing the last zombie king, he falls asleep in his lover's lap, and wakes up in the system.

Spoiler: Arc 15 Road to Immortality

MC is immediately sent onto the next world after returning to the system. He wakes up in an ancient style bed, feeling hung over. He sets the system to cure his hangover, and notes a few additional functions are available which indicates he's in a cultivation world. Then, a servant comes in and tells him he needs to hurry or he'll be late to receive the guests from Prayer Sun Isle. MC dresses and goes to the main hall, where it appears a large family had gathered. Based on his body's instincts, he finds his spot to stand, noting that two people showed signs of surprise that he showed up. He guesses that one of them is his half-brother, and the other is his half-brother's mom, and that his original self was probably not voluntarily in a drunken stupor when he arrived.

The guests arrive on flying swords, apparently here to pick new disciples from the youths of the family. To this they open two caskets. From one emerges a piece of white jade which floats across to the MC. From the other emerges 4 pieces of lesser jade which flies over to 4 other youths. They're told a boat will come by the next morning to pick them up.

During the dinner party afterwards, MC silent observes the family. He notes that everyone seems to cater to his stepmother, implying that it was due to her connections that the people from Sun Prayer Isle visited the family. The woman also calls MC up, asking to see the jade piece. MC knows she's up to no good. But as soon as she touches the jade, her hand gets severely burned. She accuses MC of doing causing the burn. MC protests that he just got the thing and couldn't have done anything to it. Someone else trying to suck up to the stepmother suggests that MC is too rebellious to be allowed to go to Sun Prayer Isle tomorrow. However, a voice suddenly comes down from the heavens, announcing that the jade pieces will burn anyone not chosen with divine fire, and that if the chosen youths do not show up the next day, the entire family will be executed. The stepmother faints, and MC takes the chance to leave.

He finally gets a chance to review the backstory of the setting. His father was a member of a large and highly placed family at their level in the setting. He was happily married to MC's mother, and both were considered the fairest man and woman of their time. However, because of his appearance, his dad caught the fancy of the daughter of Lan Daonian, the head of Crane Call City, which was at a high level of cultivation. The woman used the secret cultivation techniques and manuals to lure MC's dad to her place often, and then used drugs to have relations with him. After a few times, his dad had guessed what was going on, but his greed for the cultivation secrets was too much and he kept coming back. Then finally the girl got pregnant, and used that to get her parents to secretly kill off MC's mom, and force MC's dad to marry her. Because of her backing, this stepmother and her son (Antagonist) has most of the actual power in the family. MC had been bullied all the time, and nearly died a few times if not for his dad secretly aiding him.

This stepmother has an elder sister who is a one of the disciples of the grandmaster of Prayer Sun Isle, who is at the highest level of cultivation for this world-plane. Originally, she convinced this sister to take in the Antagonist as her disciple, after which he would return as a major power of his own and easily kill off the MC. However now the situation is different, not only that 5 people were picked instead of just one, but the chosen are said to be candidates and not direct disciples. MC can't find any way how his recent appearance could have changed the original plot so much, and then decides that the change must have come from the ML, in which case, his lover is most likely waiting for him on the Isle.

The next morning, MC doesn't bother to pack anything with him when he goes to the boat. There, he's led to a private room of his own, very regally decorated. He tries a fruit from the bowl on the table and finds that it's all rare fruits that boost spiritual abilities. For the next few days he sticks to his room, eating all of these magical fruits and pastries, before the Antagonist and the other 3 youths break into the room to continue their bullying campaign. Antagonist is immediately jealous because MC's room is fancier than his. MC however is now more powerful due to all the fruits he's eaten, and literally kicks Antagonist across the room. Then the boat supervisor shows up. Antagonist brings out how his aunt is the disciple of the master of the Isle and how he should get the better room. The supervisor however tells them that everyone on the Isle needs to follow the rules, and then sweeps the four youths out of the room, giving orders they are to be taken to isolation chambers to learn the rules of Prayer Sun Isle.

After they get to the Isle, they exit the boat into the middle of a blizzard. MC is confused because this is not how he imagined the blessed isle to look like. A single sedan is waiting at the dock, and MC alone is allowed into the sedan, while everyone else gets to walk through the blizzard. Antagonist protests, but again, he's told to suck it up.

When the sedan chair arrives at its destination, MC is in front of a palace. He's taken to a large indoors bathing pool. While bathing and enjoying the scenery outside the window, he several times feels as if he's being watched. Then suddenly, a man appears in front of him (ML), and calls him by his true name (not the name of his current host). When asked who he is, he says that his current form is called Bai Guang (grandmaster of the Prayer Sun Isle), but his true name is Shang Wang. The latter name immediately causes MC to become dizzy, as if it's something that he should remember but is unable to. ML tells him not to think about it if it hurts; he'll remember when everything is over and he's return to return. MC is still confused. ML tells him that he's been waiting for a long time. Then they kiss and proceed to the bed...

Meanwhile, Antagonist and company finally makes it to a palace, and he meets his aunt. He attempts to complain to her, but she's unsympathetic, and tells them they either follow the rules or that they'll be punished/killed, and even she can't help them because her master's rules are absolute.

MC wakes up to his lover looking somewhat conflicted by his side, and now answering by his current world's name. Apparently his two identities are separate awareness. Most of the time Bai Guang is in charge, but occasionally Shang Wang will take over the body to perform some actions (probably anything to do with paving the way for MC). They don't have memory of what the other does, but use the white jade piece that chose MC to leave messages for their other self. MC really wants to talk more with Shang Wang because that identity probably has all the answers he's looking for, but Bai Guang tells him he can't just call the other out (he also gets jealous of himself, lol).

Anyway, ML only intended to have ten disciples, but the first disciple spot has actually been left open this entire time, saved for when MC shows up. ML intends to have MC reach immortal status in one year, and then publicly take up that spot. MC is a little skeptical that his cultivation can be taken to that level so fast, but ML has everything prepared, including the primary method, which is of course dual cultivation. MC feels a little awkward about it because it kinda feels like cheating even though he understands they're the same being.

After a few months, MC is on one of his once a month rare breaks, and visits the orchards for some rare fruits that are just about to become ripe. On the way, he sees Antagonist & co. among the other candidates doing menial labor working the soil. Likewise, they recognize MC's voice. On the way back, MC recalls how Antagonist once humiliated his original self with some magic fruits, he repays the favor and humiliates him right back.

Anyway, once the year is up, MC has successfully achieved the immortality level of cultivation. A huge ceremony and banquet is held to inform the world of his new status. Among the invitees are people from MC's family and his stepmom's family. Antagonist of course takes the chance to complain to his mom, and his mom complains her sister, but said sister isn't close to her and rebuffs her, telling her that the rules are set by Bai Guang and MC is staying at his palace, so there's nothing anyone can do about it.

After the ceremony, ML calls Lan Daonian (Antagonist's grandfather) to his hall and pretty much assigns him the job of using the Purification Palace in his city to purify a Demonic Orb. LDN is shocked because he knows doing this will pretty much also destroy the Purification Palace, which is one of the foundations of his city's power and his family's cultivation. LDN has no choice but to agree. ML says he will send MC along with another disciple (the Antagonist's aunt) to deliver the orb.

Back in the palace, ML tells the MC to have fun but also to be careful, because that family has an ancestor who had ascended. Even though ML is confident he can beat that ancestor, it would likely be a pyrrhic victory. However, they still have a trump card with ML's other self. He gives the white jade piece back to MC so he can track MC through it. The next day, the group heads out to CCC. Among the attendants sent with MC is also the Antagonist and co., allowing MC to further humiliate his foe in front of the stepmother, and also to provoke the stepmother to make a fool of herself and get punished by her sister & father. Her husband is even more unsympathetic, having never loved her. He does try and talk to MC, but MC rejects the audience, making it clear that he still doesn't forgive his father for being the root cause of his mother's death.

When they get to CCC, MC releases the Demonic Orb into the Purification Palace, and also orders Antagonist & friends to go inside and guard it. Everyone knows that doing so has the possibility of ruining their cultivation potential, but no one can protest the order. After a few days, the parents of the other youths start begging MC to let their kids out. Because those youths were merely the Antagonist's accomplices and not his main target, MC allows them to be let out and taken home.

The stepmother also demands her son to be taken out too, but MC straightforwardly tells her he means to torment and kill everyone involved in his mother's death, including her and her son. The stepmother attacks him, but bounces off his defenses, and then she's pierced through the heart by her husband, who just wants to end it all. With her last breath, she also kills him as well. MC is surprised by this result, and sends his father's body home for burial. He also guesses that he's close to provoking LDN to attack, and thus sends away his fellow disciple because he recognizes that she's unlike the rest of the Nan family, and doesn't want her to feel conflicted when he takes his revenge.

LDN demands that the Antagonist be released for his mom's funeral rites. MC refuses, since his mom didn't even get funeral rites. LDN calls out the Lan family immortal ancestor. Before MC can even respond, ML also arrives to insult and fight the Lan ancestor. Not able to catch up to them, MC looks over at LDN, but before he can start a fight with his other target, some fellow disciples of his master show up and immediately start attacking LDN instead. Soon afterwards, ML returns with the dead body of his foe.

MC complains about how he "trained" all this time and didn't get to do any fighting so how's he supposed to take revenge? ML pats him on the head and tells him he can kill the Antagonist and finish his vengeance. MC, however, decides to take him back to the Isle for further torment, because he realized that if he kills the Antagonist now, he's likely to immediately leave the current world early like the previous two incarnations.

Back on the Isle, MC explains the whole repeating worlds thing to ML and how he suspects that killing the Antagonist will cause him to move onto another world, where ML won't remember him and they'll start over again. He also has lots of questions that he'd like to get answered by ML's other self first. So he's decided to wait until the Shang Wang shows up again before deciding what to do with Antagonist.

It's after another year before Shang Wang shows up, but the first thing he does, before MC even wakes up, is to go off and kill the Antagonist. MC demands to know why. He tells him that this is the last incarnation, and that MC doesn't need to incarnate further, but will be returning home to him after this. He also explains that Bai Guang, like all the previous incarnations of MC's lover, are all parts of his soul (so he has all their memories too).

Before MC can ask anything more he blacks out and finds him back in the system. Then the system world starts spinning, and and he goes dizzy and falls unconscious there as well.

MC wakes up on the top of clouds with a golden palace in the distance and starts floating toward the palace without his volition. His body is in transparent soul form, and he's surprised the deities in the palace are unable to see him. He follows a handsome man into an inner chamber, where another youth is lying on the bed.

The man calls out MC's name, he misses him and wishes he would return, etc. MC gets dizzy and merges with the body on the bed. He wakes up, first recognizes ML, and then recalls his memories. They bicker, b/c MC's last memories before his near death experience was a disagreement with ML, but the bickering just ends up becoming reunion sex.

Backstory flashback: MC's dad is the Heavenly Emperor and his mom is the Heavenly Empress. When he was born, the heavenly dao brought down a hundred thousand bolts of tribulation, which his parents endured. His mom retreated to the healing pools afterwards to recover from the ordeal. His dad had to descend to the mortal world to endure ten reincarnations.

The empress had a cousin who was the daughter of the water god, named Yu Ji. She was jealous of the empress and fell in love with the emperor. She previously tried to seduce him, but he rejected her, and only spared her life on account of her relationship with the empress. Unsatisfied, she used the opportunity when the emperor reincarnated to seduce him while he had no memories of heaven. But still, she failed to seduce him, and in the end, used drugs to finally get him into bed and get pregnant.

When the child was born, the heavenly dao again rained down tribulation on the two parents. In the emperor's current situation, the tribulation would kill him. Thus, even though she was heartbroken by the betrayal, the empress sacrificed herself to bear the tribulation in his stead. As a result, her soul was shattered, and scattered to the void beyond the 99th level of heaven.

When the emperor finally returned to heaven, he learned of what happened and was very angry. He exiled the entire water god tribe, and sealed Yu Ji into the thunder tower, where her soul would be eternally punished. He then left for the void beyond the 99 heavens to try and recover his wife's soul. He left his heir (MC) in the care of the ancient war god Shang Wang (ML).

ML had never dealt with a kid before, and somehow ended up raising MC into a spoiled lover, though in front of outsiders they still maintain appearances that's proper to their stations. In the long endless life of immortals, MC found interest in watching the lives of mortals and then roleplaying various stories with ML. He was also jealous of the heavenly ladies who admired ML, and one particular jealous fit, he descended to the mortal world himself to try out a mortal reincarnation, and fell in to a trap.

Rewinding the story, the bastard child of Yu Ji (the Antagonist) was raised by the Snow Goddess. Upon learning of his heritage, he became very jealous of MC, and wanted to have his status and to rescue his mother from the thunder tower. He many times begged ML to let him see his mother, but ML always rejected him. However, this caused him to fall in love with ML, and thus become even more jealous of MC.

Thus, knowing the Snow Goddess also likes ML, he uses her by telling her of ML & MC's relationship, and got her to have a fight with the Fire Goddess, then to use her injuries to get ML to visit and then delay him from leaving. Then, when MC goes off to play reincarnation in a fit of jealousy, Antagonist tampered with his reincarnation, so that instead of returning after one life, he would keep reincarnating through different worlds, suffering tragic fates each time at the Antagonist's hand, which would slowly weaken his soul over time.

Meanwhile, after being trapped for several days by the Snow Goddess, ML broker through her seal and realized what had happened. In a rage, he killed the Snow Goddess. He then had to search though the countless worlds to find the MC's soul. However, it was already very weak, and the only way to recover him would be to change his fate in his reincarnations, strengthening him with each happy ending. The jade piece/system given to MC at the start of the story is a portion of ML's soul, allowing him to guide and follow MC through each world and help him out. (It's all a little more complicated than this, but that's the overall gist.)

End flashback. Back in the present, after a few more days of enjoying their reunion, MC goes to see the Antagonist in the heavenly jail. They exchange verbal barbs, and then MC sentences Antagonist to join his mother in the thunder tower for punishment.

Afterwards, MC idly wonders if his parents will ever gets back, because it would be nice if they can come back and give him a younger brother so he doesn't have to be crown prince anymore and can openly be with whoever he wants. ML also idly wonders if maybe he should go and give the emperor a hand.

Spoiler: Arc 6: Holy Light Legend

MC wakes up in a western style carriage. This is a world where humans and demons "coexist" in enmity. Thousands of years ago, when humanity was on the verge of being killed off by demonkind, there was a month-long rainstorm that suppressed demon powers, followed by a great flood that destroyed all the demon palaces, and then at the end a great pillar of light descended from heaven, destroying all demons that were on human lands. Humans built a cathedral at the site of the pillar of light, where they found a magic spring that gave some children bathed in it the ability wield holy light powers.

MC's grandfather was an elder of the holy cathedral, and held the position of Saint by the royal family. Twenty years ago, he divined that there is a child born with demonic powers who may cause future calamity. The king ordered a search and found the child, intending to kill it. However, MC's grandfather pled for mercy, saying it's not right to punish someone for things they haven't done yet, and that he wanted to try and purify the child. So the child remained in the cathedral for 12 years, but then one day disappeared right as he was on the verge of being purified. (No surprise, this kid is the Antagonist.)

Three years later, there was a great battle against the demons. During the battle, the crown prince (ML) was infected with demonic energy. MC's grandfather attempted to perform a purification, but was interrupted by another attack, and soon afterwards suddenly died on the battlefield. Losing him caused the ML his first ever loss on the battlefield. Immediately afterwards, the reinforcements led by the second prince swept in and defeated the demon army. He was aided by a strong wielder of holy light, who turns out to be the Antagonist.

When they got back, the Antagonist claimed that he never had demonic energy in him, but instead had holy light which was stronger than MC's grandfather, who kept him locked up in the cathedral out of jealousy, until the second prince helped him escape. The second prince also suggested that MC's entire family should be executed because of this, but the king only exiled them to a remote church where they were kept under house arrest.

Five years later, the demons have a treaty of coexistence with the human kingdom. As part of the deal, they sent a demon beast to the capital, where every year, a youth with holy light powers would be sacrificed to the beast. (And I suppose in return, demons won't attack human cities anymore.) The court agreed, on the condition that only criminals be used for sacrifices. Of course, original MC fit this bill, and thus was on his way to the capital to be scarificed when MC arrived.

Because of the system, MC knows that Antagonist doesn't have a bit of holy light in him. He had become the lover of the demon king with whom he'd formed a contract, and everything was just a staged performance they're playing to trick the humans. He then later seduced the second prince to becoming his patsy in controlling the human kingdom, who he used to lower the kingdom's defenses. Once the second prince dies, he would then help the demon king sweep through and drive humanity to extinction.

On arriving at the capital, MC is allowed a private audience with the king. The king is actually suspicious of the Antagonist, but doesn't have proof of his suspicions. He is also the only person alive who knows that MC was born with tremendous holy light powers, which his grandfather had temporarily sealed for his own good. The king asks MC for any last requests, and the MC asks for 10 extra days, which is granted.

MC goes to his abandoned original room, and pulls out an old shabby cloak hidden under the bed, which is actually an invisibility cloak. He then moves into the cathedral, and at night, uses the cloak to visit the room where ML has been sequestered in. There, he offers to purify the demon energy from ML, but their conversation is interrupted when ML falls in to his frequent fits. However, unlike normal fits which causes him to to try and kill any living being around him, this fit causes him to fall onto the MC in lust. Seeing the pain on his lover's face, MC doesn't resist.

During the next few days, MC lounges around in the day and sneaks over to purify ML at night. Antagonist comes by once to take MC on a tour of the capital, basically to throw his current status in MC's face. He also comes by to try and seduce ML one night, but gets beat up instead.

On the day of the sacrifice, a fully restored ML sweeps in to rescue MC and kill off the demon beast. MC also shows off his tremendous holy powers. The king is happy to have his preferred heir back. The Antagonist suggests they need proof that he's clear of demon energy, because he simply couldn't believe that his handiwork could be completely purified. ML agrees to the test of being soaked in the holy spring to prove his purified state, but further demands that Antagonist undergoes the same test. ML passes the test just fine, but the Antagonist is forced to endure the severe pain of standing in the holy spring while also forced to not show any of it.

Then there's still the issue of killing the demon beast means that the previous treaty with the demons is no longer valid, and there's the danger of demons attacking human cities again. So the king sends both princes and their entourage to the border to renegotiate (or fight) with the demons.

Once they left the capital and and are settling down for the first evening on the road, ML reveals an edict the king gave him before they left, stripping Antagonist of the Saint position and giving it to MC. Also, as they drew closer to the border, they found that the land had more and more demon corruption and people living in perpetual fear. It turns out, the guy send to oversee the area, a cousin of the second prince, had outright left 3 cities in demon hands "to prevent conflict". Neither the second prince nor many of the nobles in the capital were aware of any of this.

Initial negotiations fall through. MC suggests that the second prince and Antagonist should have the job of recovering the 3 lost cities since they were lost because of them. Antagonist plots with the local noble to drug and rape MC, but MC turns it back on him. He also uses the chance to remove the magic bone that the demon king had place into Antagonist to allow him to disguise his demon powers as holy power. So when negotiations led by the second prince break down into a fight, Antagonist is no longer able to pretend to use holy power. Knowing he can't go back to the humans, Antagonist immediately turns on his own party and helps the demons capture them. As Antagonist goes all lovey on the demon king and refuses to acknowledge that he had any other romantic relationship, the second prince realizes that he's been played for a fool.

ML isn't willing to negotiate further with the demon king, so they fight. With help from the MC, they force the demons to flee. However, their goal is bigger than that. MC goes by himself to see the demon king, pretending that he is willing to contract with the demon king in return for the authority to rule over all humans. In order to do this, the demon king must dissolve his former contract with Antagonist, thus withdrawing the power he had given him. The demon king, thinking that the MC couldn't use his holy powers inside his demon palace anyway, and that the lust for power is a motive he could understand, and also because Antagonist hasn't come through with his promises, eventually agrees. As soon as the contract with Antagonist is dissolved, ML, who had snuck in with MC under the invisibility cloak, stabs the demon king through the heart from behind. This forces the demon king to use all the gathered ancestral demonic power in the palace, which is what MC wanted. He calls down a giant pillar of light similar to the old legends, and purifies the root of demonic energy. ML's soldiers then sweep in to clean up the rest. From then on, the demon kind will only get weaker and weaker until humanity can eventually destroy them all.

On arriving home, the king is able to hear the happy news shortly before his death. The kingship is passed to ML. The second prince was crippled during his stay in the demon king's torture chambers, and now hates Antagonist with a burning passion, often going down to the dungeons to torture him. MC asks ML what he's going to do about an heir, and ML basically plans to drug his younger brother to sleep with an appropriately willing woman, and then adopt the kid as an heir.

Spoiler: Arc 8: Mecha Programmer

MC wakes up in a crashed escape pod, feeling like all his bones have been shattered (they probably are). Before he could do anything else, a couple of mechas descend from the skies. A person descends from the leading mecha to take a closer look at MC's pod. MC instinctively knows this is not an enemy, and weakly calls for help. Since the guy is ML, the young general in charge of the fleet overhead, he orders for MC to be brought back to his ship and given medical help. In recovery, MC reviews his backstory.

This is a sci fi setting with several rival nations that compete for natural resources of newly found worlds. Several of these nations banded together in an alliance. Original MC was from one of the major nations in the Alliance (and ML is from a peer nation also in the Alliance). MC's grandfather was an important government official, his dad was a decorated captain in the navy, MC himself was a prodigy engineer, and he also had a fiance who was from a high status family too.

This fiance unfortunately had rescued Antagonist, who was a soul that was transmigrated from an even more future setting, who then fell for his savior. Antagonist and his original body's brother then plotted against original MC's family, paying pirates to kill his dad, framing his uncles to be executed, killing his grandfather with the shock, and buying mercs to kill MC. MC's brother sacrificed himself to allow MC to flee across the border, though he was already heavily damaged, and crash landed on the planet where ML found him. MC's fiance also became Antagonist's fiance (though he soon found out about Antagonist's real character and regretted choosing him over MC).

MC doesn't bother to hide his background from ML. He also uses his recovery time to take apart his wheelchair, and rebuild it into a wheelchair-transforming-mecha that gave a ship-full of soldiers the runaround in his demo. With that as the proof of his ability, ML gives him a spot on the his ship's engineering team.

With MC's help, ML's fleet is able to gain several worlds/contracts ahead of Antagonist's forces. Antagonist is livid that his nemesis is alive and showing him up, and holds a press conference accusing MC of betraying his home nation and demanding his repatriation from ML's nation. In response, ML's fleet attacks the largest pirate fleet in the region, showing off the new mecha MC built for his lover, and capturing the pirate leader alive. They then hold their own press release, showing the evidence and testimony of the pirates proving that Antagonist & his brother had betrayed many of their own people to the pirates in order to gain power, as well as selling military gear to the pirates and using them to help them hold power over their nation's major government officials and becoming shadow rulers.

This revelation causes the public to turn against Antagonist, as well as many government officials who no longer have anything to fear. Antagonist's brother is preparing their private fleet to flee and set up their own country elsewhere. However, Antagonist could not help but go and see the fiance one more time to ask him to go with him (just like original MC once did before he fled). The fiance angrily rejects him and gets killed by Antagonist, since if he can't have him then no one can.

Meanwhile, MC gets married to ML, which also gives him citizenship and thus no one has the right to demand his repatriation anymore. After the wedding, they go after Antagonist's fleet, wiped out their forces, and captured the brothers. They're tried before the Alliance court and sentenced to some hole somewhere for the rest of the lives.
