Two new missions have been unlocked:

    Capture Messengers Part 2

Note: Time limited to 2 ingame hours (1 irl day).

A messenger has left the Castle in secret, going toward the South-East Gate, where a horse is waiting to take them toward Windmere. Unlike the previous messenger, this one is a knight with a magic weapon, thus identifiable by the sword and shield they carry. Intercepting them counts as combat, but with higher risk comes a higher reward.

Reward: 30 score total for the player or group who captures the messenger; The Lord's letter; Prevents strengthening of the Witch Hunter; Secret reward.

    Capture Messengers Part 3

Note: Time limited to 2 ingame hours (1 irl day).

A messenger from outside entered the city from the North-West Gate. Prevent him from reaching the Witch Hunter, and learn the details of his task. The messenger is unarmed and wounded, but would gain healing and an escort, if he passes through the Temple (is intercepted in an area in the South or South-West).

    Reward: 50 score total for the player or group who captures the messenger; Unlocks a special mission (prerequisite to weakening the Witch Hunter);

    Area Control Reward:

Due to capturing a significant part of Fort Town, witches can now call on collaborators within any area of the city once per ingame cycle (2 ingame hours, 1 irl day). Collaborators are NPC witches, who can perform tasks similar to player characters, but are less powerful, and lack plot armour. The witches will always be of the coven of the player character belongs to.

    Important: The game started on Wednesday, at ingame time of early evening (7 PM). The next ingame cycle will take place during the Witching Hour (3 AM). After the next update, all rituals conducted by witches will be much more potent, especially dark magics. A separate announcement will be added when this effects starts. }

After Macer left me with the task of creating potions, that's what I do. I come to find the apothecary well equipped and well stocked, and restock my potions with ease. Then, after making some surplus for Macer, I start to think about his next task.

Crafting potions that are difficult to make. Let me think, which ones count? Many of my gasses have to be made in a vacuum, but I have made quite a few of them with ease. What else do we have... artificial blood might be useful, but it is not hard to make. High explosive... that might work. What else... perhaps a growth solution, that allows plants to sprout from even the barest of places within seconds? Yes, let's do that. For poisonous vines.

What else... a fog that gives shape to the incorporeal. A potion that covers an area in holy water, not that hard to make but great against witches. And the same thing but with acid. The best drug I can make... hehe, this one is for me. Scattering powder! To dissipate spells and magic. And a berserker bottle. Whoever tastes that potion won't be coming to his senses for the next few minutes. Healing... who needs healing.

Oh, I know, an aphrodisiac that will make the person that took it lust after the first person he sees! And a Devil's Bang, once it comes into contact with air, it will explode, creating a giant noise, blinding light, and foul-smelling smoke. And balm of decay. Instead of healing, this balm makes things rot. Perfect for putting on weapons and throwing at rivals in love.

As I am busy making potions, I do not notice the passage of time.

"I assure you, boy witch, no matter what you might have heard about nobilities, I've never fucked my mother." The Earl's son said while moving to sit next Ira.

Ira eyerolled at his joke. "I assume that the other three are not ordinary as well?" She asked. The barkeeper and the Earl's son both didn't answer. They just kept smiling at her.

Ira was trying to stamp down the growing irritation in her heart. She's in too deep now in this conspiracy that she have to follow it through. That is the way of a loremaster.

"Why me? Why not other witches?"

"Well...we actually gathered tonight to talk about contacting the witches and you unexpectedly waltzed in our doorstep." The Earl's son answered.

"What a fucking luck. So what now? I'll hear what your request first before I agree on helping you."

"Worry not, boy witch. As the barkeeper has said, you need not to involve yourself in the commoner's affairs. We just want you to deal more damage to the institution that is providing my father more power than he should have, the church."

The Earl's son stopped when he noticed a grey pigeon at the glass window. It knocked on the glass window twice. It was carrying a message.

One of the patrons, a buff man wearing black clothing, went and got a piece of paper from the bird.

He then sat back to his seat and glanced at Ira. "A messenger for the Witch Hunter was ambushed by our group posing as bandits outside the town. He got away and is now entering through the Northwestern gate."

Ira sighed. She really disliked this feeling of being someone's lapdog. "I'll be back." She ran out and retrieved 1001 nights. She'll use this man to relieve her irritation.

As both of them departed, Hyacinth also followed their lead, departing from the tavern. But as she thought about what the vampire said, she looked back at Paimon who is pushing the wheelchair.

    "Could you... hide?"

"Certainly." With those words, the demonic air emanating from him was retracted and sealed inside his body.

"My awareness will be reduced and I would be instantly found out the moment I use my powers, do keep that in mind, milady." Paimon explained as he continued to push the wheelchair.

"Will do..." Hyacinth muttered back, looking back at the place they had departed which have long been swept away and destroyed by the battle.

    Southern Craftsmen Zone --- Ritsu

"I was thinking of leaving without a fuss, but looks like a fight is inevitable now, jeez! And I was hoping to avoid attention, too!"

Having no more time to handle the situation delicately, and since she definitely wasn't going to head out of the front door, Ritsu hastily threw together an attack spell, and aimed at the back wall. She did feel bad about destroying the tavern, but the owner and most of the patrons were already dead, anyway. This was just going to have to be collateral damage.

Surely enough, the spell blew up the wooden wall and the brick wall a few metres behind it, creating a clear path for people to escape through. Ritsu turned back to the other girl, and spoke.

"I'll be leaving now, and you should too. Sorry about this mess I ended up dragging you into; Still, you have a place to hide out at, correct? In that case, this is probably not needed, but if you ever require a place to stay, even temporarily, feel free to come to my house at the Western Craftsman Zone! Good luck!"

Dashing out of the hole she made, Ritsu immediately traded with Ariel, leaving a Shadow Wolf to hang around the area. She had instructed the Shadow Wolf to show itself to the other witch, and help her to escape, as much as possible.

Hurrying, Ritsu left the Craftsmen sector in a matter of minutes, having utilized some of her faster travelling spells. Pausing for a moment to catch her breath, the girl hurriedly smothered any traces of black magic that was hanging around her, giving herself the aura of a normal young girl.

"Huff, huff, that was definitely not fun. Next time, I'll be having meetings at my house. At least I'll have the home ground advantage then."

She looked around. It was already way past midnight, possibly nearing 2 AM, and the streets were deserted. She was the only person around.

    *Clip* *Clop* *Clip* *Clop*

...Guess not, heh. Who's the one that's riding a horse in the ungodly hours of the night? I guess I better stay and find out.

Soon enough, her guess was proven correct, and a horse rounded the corner. Sitting on the saddle and fully armed was a knight in full plate armour. A sizeable red cape fluttered behind her.

    Oh, just wonderful.

"...I had not expected anyone else to be out on the streets at this hour. State your name and identity."

The knight drew a sword, levelling it right towards Ritsu's face.

I don't think this will work, but I guess I'll try bluffing...?

Luciela's nervousness faded, as she watched mayhem unfold in town through her ravens. Watching through another creature's gaze somehow felt more real, yet she was detached and in safety. Just as she was beginning to enjoy herself, she heard the sounds of metal grinding, voices and footsteps. The raven at the cell window flew up to scout. She spotted the knight mounting a horse, and hesitated for a moment. Should she send her last eyes away to follow, or keep watch over herself? Curiosity won out.

Just as the knight aimed a sword at Ritsu, a raven cawed to their side, flying right above their head at maximum speed. The knight winced in reflex, while the raven perched itself on a nearby window, looking smug. It cawed again, alternating its sight at Ritsu and the knight, mirroring Luciela's eagerness to see what happens next.

Due to the criticism of her stealth skills from the barkeeper, Ira shed off her white cloak, leaving her with her fitted black long sleeved shirt and black pants. She also tried to find a black cloth to cover 1001 Nights but it was imposible to find one that fits its size. She gave up any attempts at disguise and just flew directly to the Northwestern gate. She landed on the roof of the nearest house.

A single limping man can be seen walking slowly by the road, looking around. He seemed to be looking for guards to escort him to the temple. Bandages can be seen on his head and limbs. It's very early morning so he's alone in the area.

Ira levitated again and swooped down in high speed towards the man. She then swiftly snatched the man from his position. She was thinking of a place where she could interrogate the man.
    That Datura bar then.

Luciela's second raven was slightly smaller and more agile than the rest. She used it to patrol the outskirts, until the moment she noticed the warehouse raid. Out of serveral conspicuous targets she picked the one that seemed fastest, tracing her to the slums. Interesting, interesting, I should make use of them, when I get out, the not-so-innocent little girl mused.

Sometimes your familiars become unruly. It is when their instincts flare up, and such was the case with her ravens and blood. The raven attached to Ira descended quickly and attempted to peck at the messenger's eyes, disregarding its observation mission. Its mistress was not amused.

"See, I was outside when my group was attacked by a witch, and then I managed to get away, because the witch...errr…"

Halfway through, Ritsu could already tell that the knight wasn't buying any of what she had just said, and thus changed her tune completely.

"...You don't believe a single word of it, do you."

"Nope. Because this isn't the first time I've heard this excuse since evening. And guess what? Nearly every witch I came across had the exact same excuse. There sure is a lot of witches running around attacking people, huh."

Faced with that dry-as-leaves voice, Ritsu could only chuckle helplessly, before asking the important questions: "Since you're outside at this hour, and on a horse too, I presume you must be carrying a message, huh?"

Even though the opponent was equipped with a visor that covered the face, Ritsu was sure that she had hit the mark. She grinned triumphantly.

"...And what business of yours is it?"

"Weeeeell, to begin with, we're on different sides, so we'll end up clashing naturally even if there isn't a reason. Then there's the whole thing about you...killing...the other witches. While I'm not from the same coven, I should at least try to avenge them."

"In that case, you'll die here."

Kicking the horse into a gallop, the knight charged towards Ritsu, sword raised. The distance between them allowed for a single spell to be casted, and judging by the gleam of her steel shield, the knight had enchanted gear.

Too bad, I'm not casting the spell on you. [Slip].

Ritsu slung the magic towards the horse instead of the knight, causing it to lose it's footing and slide along the floor awkwardly, before finally collapsing to the side; Unfortunately, while this did take out the horse, the knight managed to roll out of the way, preventing herself from becoming a pancake.

    "You miserable coward. Fight fairly!"

"Are you kidding me? To begin with, I'm already giving myself a huge handicap by fighting you one on one! Did you think I was about to engage in melee combat with you, or something?"

    "Guh!"

Taking advantage of the momentary freeze in her opponent, Ritsu pointed her staff, and shouted out an instant cast spell, one that she could only use once every day.

    "Disarm!"

The bolt of blue light sped towards the knight...and bounced off her kite shield with a small 'ding'.

    "...Are you kidding me?!"

(OOC: Thank you for your grace, game master.)

    Location: Northwestern gate

    "HELP!!"
What Ira did was not unseen by the guards near the gate. The wounded man's incessant shouting attracted their attention. 1001 night's silver body and her white hair against the black night sky caught their eyes. They quickly ran towards her direction, hoping they reach her when she lands. Ira tried to pick up the speed of her flying when out of the blue, a raven attacked the wounded man; specifically aiming at the the man's eyes. The man tried to swat the raven off his face. The excessive jerky movements made it harder for Ira to steer 1001 Nights.

    "Stop moving or we'll fall!"

As soon as Ira said that, 1001 Nights dipped down like it suddenly lost its power. Fuck! It ran out of power before it could even devour the story of the messenger! Ira desperately steered 1001 nights using her own wind powers at an empty alleyway that would be hard for the guards to reach right away. The falling sensation caused the man to scream his lungs out.

The raven stopped the attack as it couldn't keep up at the speed of the descent of the two. It perched at the nearby roof, watching at the falling bodies intently.

"Calm down! We will safely land!" Ira shouted to the man to stop him from flapping his arms around in an attempt to slow down the descent.

Ira closed her eyes and tried to summon the nearby wind spirits for assistance. Her body tattoos light up. The man hanging at the right arm of Ira felt the wind around them increasing. He calmed down and looked at his captor. The boy's body was glowing underneath his clothes. This spectacle made the man momentarily forget that they were falling.

They soon landed safely like a wind cushioned their fall. The combination of fright from falling and relief from landing numbed the man's body, unable to move. Ira on the other hand snapped out of her focus then inhaled loudly like she has been holding her breath for too long. She panted so hard with sweat dripping from her forehead. It would take 5 minutes for the guards to reach them so Ira wasted no more time and picked up the man while dragging behind 1001 Nights, then ran towards the Northern slums.

    Southern Administration Zone --- Ritsu

The fight got very complicated quickly.

To start with, [Instant Death] spells were not used. Secondly, Ritsu was in sword range, which considerably reduced the number of available spells that she could cast without getting cleaved in half by an enchanted broadsword. Then, there was the annoying broadsword and shield combo, which could parry projectile type magic.

What kind of hardmode fight is this?!

She was inept at melee fighting, but thankfully, she wasn't slow. Ritsu managed to dodge most of her strikes, and the ones she couldn't dodge, she took. It was painful, but she was sure to always make it an equivalent exchange, landing a painful curse on the opposition.

By the time she had suffered several cuts, her opponent was under the collective status effects of Slowed, Poisoned, Confusion, Perplexity, Cursed...to name a few.

Of course, her opponent had to have been holding trump cards up her sleeves, but she did, too. It was just a matter of who using up their aces first, and her opponent made the first move.

[Blitzkrieg]. A buff-type enchant that heightened the user's speed greatly at the cost of defense.

All of a sudden, Ritsu got overwhelmed by the storm of blades pouring from the front, but she bit her teeth and activated one of her own aces.

[Pitfall] and [Master Trapper], combining to create a trap right where the knight was about to step, a deep hole in the ground.

And...She somehow missed. The next thing she knew, a sword was sticking through her chest, driven cleanly through the back.

    "Got you, witc---Huh?"

The 'Ritsu' that had been impaled on the blade wasn't moving, and upon closer examination, she was rapidly turning into a shade of brown. Clay.

"You react quickly to chanted spells. But not silent ones, it seems. And now, I've got you exactly where I want you."

Ritsu had leapt through two shadows to quickly get behind the knight, and then used a fake body to distract her long enough to finish her spell. The putfall was nothing but an elaborate diversion.

    "You're mine! [Fatigue]!"

There were no visible effects, the opponent fell over. The effects of Fatigue had taken place, sending the knight to a deep sleep.

"Now, I guess I'll tie you up and remove your weapons...Oh, my."

When she confiscated the helmet, the first thing she saw was the face of another girl, one who couldn't have been older than eighteen.

    "Ara, ara. What to do...?"

Spending my tavern full of Blood Knights out to go and greet the Witch Hunter, I flee back a safe distance to caring to watch the slaughter. Behind me, as I run, I hear the sounds of bodies falling, being sliced down one by one.

'I hope you don't think its going to be the same this time' I think to myself as I command the blood of the fallen knights to form into spikes, shooting them at the Witch Hunter.

'Lets move start moving some of the knights to a different area so he'll leave for awhile' with that I manipulate the remaining five Blood Knights, having them run towards the center of town, causing as much of a commotion as they can with their fleeting lives.

Forming into a small cloud of mist, I begin traveling back to the apothecary.

"So. In short. You were thrashed." Inpes' voice echoed in Alacris who trembled after hearing those words. Because he couldn't deny anything. He was simply... nothing more than a fly in front of the Witch Hunter. He couldn't even give a proper hit to his opponent. However, he wasn't feeling any anger toward him or Inpes, no, only toward his weakness.

Hours ago. After the Witch Hunter left the raided house.
"..." he couldn't say anything, no words were voiced. All he felt was a terrible humiliation. He never thought of himself as weak, no, on the contrary. Then he thought more deeply about it and realized something. He knows nothing of this world.
To be exact, in his previous life, he always believed that magic, ghosts, witches and all those supernatural matters were simply nonsenses. Nevertheless, he was wrong as today, he is simply a spirit. Since it happened, he thought he was just special, chosen by some arrogant mighty existence above mortals like him.

Of course not. Him, becoming a spirit was just a coincidence. Nothing more, nothing less.

"...I knew nothing about magic and became a spirit... but what about someone who knew magic and also became a spirit..." Of course, he would be weaker than them. He can lose to someone who never died, an human, the Witch Hunter. Then, can't he be considered as a weakling in fact ? Isn't his goal now futile ? Everything is vain as... he just never had the necesarry strenght to accomplish his goal.
Then what ? What should he do ? He couldn't even be able to end this even if he wanted to. His goal was why he died, and why he is now a spirit, but since he realized that... this goal might be unreachable...

The armor froze. The fog momentarily disappeared and it seemed as if the armor was dead, as if it was a simple rusty cracked set that is only waiting to be thrown away.

"Alright. Stop dazzing out already. I am talking to you." The fog returned. The armor began to moved once again. Coming back to "life". Right, he didn't have the right to disappear. He wasn't able to, no choices after all.
"So, now that you seem to have come back and completed what I asked of you... you will accompany me and protect me. Don't you dare to run on your own, okay ?" That fool didn't reply. Inpes shook her head and slapped his helmet while her face twisted with anger. She always hated being ignored.
"Reply. Yes, I will obey your command." Unexpectedly, he did reply. And in a sense that... frustrated her. She couldn't understand why this prideful and hard-headed hyena suddenly... became obedient, as if it was a puppet.
"Yes, I will obey all of your commands without questionning."

"..." The witch of the Sacred Flame sighed and put her hood on. A gesture and both the armor and fog disappeared. And thus, Inpes was going to leave the Temple.

The recent fight against the witch hunter showed me that I am severely lacking in things to use in combat. So I put together whatever I can find in the laboratory, and start to put them together, to form what will be the core of my future golem.

First, I carefully mix a few substances to produce a strong acid and use it to turn half of the organic substances into a paste, stirring it with my left pinky finger. While that is happening, I start to create a shell made of stone and inlay it with emerald dust.

The remaining half of my organic ingredients gets grounded into a paste, and I fill the shell with it. Then I add one drop of my blood to it, close the shell, and encase it in what remains of the things I put in the acid at this point, all that remains of my left pinkie finger is a small stump.

But the core is complete. After carefully putting it in a pouch made of leather, I place it in one of my pockets. Once I take it out of the pouch and say: "Be my shield", the golem will form from stones in the area, with a space within that is big enough to fit me.

The victory was hers, no doubt, but the spamming of spells did empty out a sizeable chunk of her mana. Cheating death, even if it was an illusion, wasn't a cheap magic.

    "Fwah...What to do."

Then the realization struck her, faster than the sounds did; while many of her spells were silent in nature, there were plenty of flashy ones, and then there were plenty of loud ones. Someone definitely noticed the fight.

"The noises came from over here! Hurry!"

    ****!

They were coming; at most, she had five minutes. Cursing, Ritsu threw a regeneration spell on herself, and tried to pull the knight along.

No luck. Full plate armour weighted a ton, and there was a person wearing them. Even if she was in perfect condition, she still wouldn't be able to use it.

    "Dammit!"

She wasn't going to give up the prey so easily after spending all that effort to catch her, but she couldn't just deposit the captured knight into the shadows; living creatures had to enter and exit of their own volation, or they would disappear into it forever. Plus, she needed the knight alive to tell her information, and necromancy made it too risky.

"...This is the best choice now."

Invoking a certain black magic spell, she placed her hand over where the other's heart would be, and pulled out a ghostly blue lump of energy. The female knight trembled, and then went limp.

    "In you go."

The shadows reached out once more, and when they receded, the knight had disappeared, leaving behind Ritsu and a dead horse.

"Time to get out of here. [Raise Undead]."

Shakily, the dead horse stood, a sickening green glow in it's lifeless eyes. Ritsu popped the glowing blue ball into her mouth, and straddled the horse. She was going to head straight back to her house and fall asleep.

    "Giddyup!"

"Let me go, witch!" The messenger kept wiggling in an attempt to get out of Ira's grasp. "You bitches are all going to die once they reach the Fort Town!"

Ira frowned. A larger threat is coming to Fort Town. While in the past this will make her excited, she was not a bystander anymore.

"Do tell me more later. I would love to hear more." She said sarcastically.

The movements of the messenger made Ira slow down significantly, making her bad mood into worse. Not to mention that she felt incredibly tired. Even though she's part of a coven of witches that specializes in wind magic, wind spirits always go berserk in her touch so controlling the wind to do her bidding quickly saps away her mental energy.

"The wind has two faces: gentleness and destruction." Her mentor touched her tiny crying face. "You who has the blood of a berserker, the wind follows your nature. The wind will always manifest to you as destruction."

The guards were getting closer to them and hundreds of inquisitors seems to be joining the fray. They seemed to be filling in from different parts of the town. It would seem that she would not be able to escape unscathed.

Ira quickly made a decision, she turned to an empty alleyway. She stopped then chopped at the nape of the messenger, immediately making the man unconscious in her hands. She tied up the man with the rope she used to carry 1001 Nights and using her wind powers, floated him on the roof of a building nearby. She then exited the alleyway and into a huge open square and waited for the guards to reach her. The Witching Hour is coming any moment now. 5 minutes was all she had to clear her path before that messenger wakes up again.

Ira planted sleeping 1001 Nights in front of her. Whenever 1001 Nights is asleep, it shrinks down to the size of a baseball bat and its weight lightens significantly therefore making it useless to use as a weapon against a large crowd. Ira decided to do what she doesn't like to do in the first place: use her wind magic as a weapon.

Cyrene stepped through the entrance of the tavern and looked around at the small crowd trying to drink away their sorrows, or their fears.

Ten exhausted souls, likely having not long finished work in the forges and workshops of the zone.

"Blessings be upon you." She intoned in a gentle voice, carefully spreading a small amount of white magic to positively influence the emotions of the crowd and nudge them into seeing her as someone they can be open with.

Cyrene smiled benevolently as she approached the bar behind which a bartender stood with a curious look on his face. "What can i get for you?" The bartender asked as Cyrene took a seat.

"Some water and perhaps you can tell me what is bothering you." Cyrene continued to gently pulse magic to ease the emotions of those in the tavern. Ideally, she might be able to get some information from that.

Rye Town, Central Market --- Crash

"My name is Crash. My purpose is to have some fun in this city and visit this place cause I still haven't met the true owner of it within this city. Further I know that they have been appearing in the fort town and I want to know why. After all I was planning on interfering in that place and what not and it can't help to have a proper meeting with your master now can it?" Crash begins spinning around the weretiger whilst moving faster and faster.

    Fort town, Western gate ---Adrestia

Having taken the girl outside of the city and having deposited her with the keeper I head out and around to the Western gate through which I enter normally and pay the entry fee. I hang around the building that was supposed to hold the spare armour of the witch hunter. Holding myself steady I concentrate and begin hearing everything that goes on in the city and recording it in my notepad in the secret script of the coven a few hours pass. *Representing the time I was afk* Before I begin heading off towards the drop point of the coven where madam Whitelock of my coven will be waiting for lore books and such. "It seems that the witches in this area have been quite busy recently."
