Please change my mind. Not by dissing mushoku tensei. Give your best completed novel instead. English novel, rrl, stories online, or anything works too.

One novel only per person please, thanks

Well, you are entitled to your own opinions. Can't say I really have a favorite novel though, much less a completed one. Most of my list is composed of ongoing novels.

I don't care what you like or do not like so long as it is not socially and morally wrong or something that would make me feel disgusted reading.

As for myself I can't name off just one so I will refrain from naming a list. Enjoy your morning, afternoon or night.

Hmmm... awkward thing is, I don't know many finished jap novels. Know a few good CNs that are finished. If it counts, I would say that I enjoyed the harry potter series more.

A novel widely acclaimed, a reflection of the genericity of novels everywhere.
Known to nearly every member of our great NUFian people.
A character that is invincible, indomitable, unstoppable, the peak of all creation.
The one and only: INVISIBLE DRAGON!!!!!!

coiling dragon is the best novel ever. linley actually kills the root cause of all his early childhood tragadies and eventually reaches trancendences from his universe.

mushoko tensei has an mc that has bad stuff happening to him with no way of reversing it and enventually finishes the bad guy but all the people die at the end except elf chick if iirc. of old age not the battle.

I would choose the feel good novel of an adventurous duo of blood bros going through adventures than an otaku who achives some stuff in life with a bitter sweet end and death.

I would rather go with a happy ending as life already has a bittersweet vibe as it is. who wants to experience that in their fantasies as well.

The Legend of Sun Knight is the best! The interaction among the characters and their growth and brotherly feelings! And that plot twist was great!

yes and no. like all japanese web/light novel authors, they write five version of the same story with minor or major alterations. the original story version (webnovel) ended though iirc.

I don’t want to change your mind as you have your own different tastes in novels. I just didn’t like how MC kept thinking with his d*ck. He had sex with another woman when his wife was close to giving birth. I guess the first cover foreshadowed everything. Anyways, it’s a good novel to start with in the beginning if one is new to LNs/WNs but I wouldn’t call it my favorite

Quickly Wear the Face of the Devil

It's lacking and full of part where it could have been better. But "best" is subjective and for now, my "best" is this. Reason: Sentiments.

i did mention old age. only elf chick teacher was still living visiting their grave at end.that is why i said it doesnt compare to coiling dragon as they are immortal and the story can continue in your imagination or in other works of author which it has. on the other hand tensei's mc is dead. can't do much with that. as someone wise once said, "he dead."

I know you said one but Praise the Orc was awesome as was Sevens. Take your pick.

EDIT: even though you suggested it I'm not even going to get into actual published English novels because that is just way too many.

The novel i consider as the best i have ever read is the Malazan Books of the Fallen series by Steven Erickson.

I yet have to read a series that can compare with it in just sheer plot and plain epicness along with so much other factors, there is just so much ongoing at once. Just the sheer scope of history alone blows all novels i have read so far out of the water.

Can get a bit rough with the first book, but after that it is worth it (this is also a recommendation to read this series, its that good.)
