TL/DR since I can't stop writing and get to the damn point: What are your favourite children's books.
    --

Since reading was a big part of my childhood, I went out of my way and abused my wallet to buy the children's books I loved so much growing up, and am planning to keep them until I'm old and dying. I don't care if they're meant for people who can barely even read, because those sheets of paper pretty much kept me company more than actual people.

To name my favourites, from beginner to more advanced: The Pokey little puppy (and pretty much the majority of the 'Little Golden Books Collection') Gossie & Gertie, Nothing at All [1], the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark & Goosebumps books, and even the Percy Jackson Series. Which is somehow still ongoing in its related series.
And Yes. I'm still excited about it. [2]

But I think my favourite ever, that I recently bought and love more than all the other books I have, is 'Crenshaw'. Yes, if it sounds familiar, it's a place in Los Angeles. It's also the book I spent $16.99 on.
    I like it a lot.
It's also about a boy in a family who is poor, and his parents are working their best, and he is rather sassy and loves facts and acts too adult and 'mature' for his age. [3]
Yet he keeps seeing a giant, surf boarding, bumber-shoot™️ wielding [4], tuxedo-fur coloured cat around, who leaves purple jelly beans for him and his sister.

The kid surprisingly isn't on drugs but the story is pretty wholesome and even hit close to home with me since I grew up with a not-so-good-upbringing and low income household, is as I shall put it.
    It's good. Read it.
I wrote too much as usual. I could have fr just said, "ay these my favourite books what are yours" but I had to write an entire ass Jehovah's Witness Pamphlet, my bad. [5]

    Happy Mother's day too <3

Poor explanations by Ollie along with some of his thoughts
[1] This one is really good too, and very cute. If you like dogs, I am sure you'd like it 3x as more. :blobReach:
[2] You will see my grown-man-self in the front of Rick Riordan's Signing booth, squealing like a child. Sod off.
[3] You know, anyone who says, "I'm mature for my age!" is rather....well, the opposite.
[4] Bumber shoots exist. Accept them. They just want to be. (It's an umbrella btw)
[5] You'll also know exactly what I mean when I speak of these damnable pamphlets.

I need to start finding a story plot, so I can get all this built up urge to write entire essays out of my system. But I can't find a plot. So I'm just going to torture you all with long rants about such simple things that could totally have been put into 4 sentences or less.

And even now, I could have totally just said, "Nah homefry" but no, I had to write even more, and add the long ranting style I have.
    Apologies, Love.

You're ruining this serious thread, and you scare other respondents away. Leave, so I can hear about other people's childhood books.

I keep some around too. A book of children's fables, a few children's workbooks with fairy tales from around the world (had stuff like baba yaga, the African spider dude, and the magical white cat princess), my first few sci-fi and sci-fi fantasy books and the Harry Potter series. These are mostly things that I just kept from childhood. A few I saw on sale at the library for a dime and bought the rest of the series online to match.

I'll dig up the names of the fairy tales and post them here when I have time.

I JUST REMEMBERED: "I ain't gonna paint no more", ''A bad case of stripes'' and I can't remember the title, but it's made of silly stories, but you sing it to the tune of famous nursery rhymes.
    I can't remember it, it's killing me.

Books were not a thing in my childhood you could say I grew to be the blacksheep in the family.

most of my childhood consists of playing outside and Super nintendo, Killer instinct, Earthbound, Zelda, Batman, Ninja turtles, double dragon, street fighters etc.

when I was in 1st grade my first book was one of those pop up clifford the big red dog books with 4-5 words in each page.

4-5 grade I was into the black beauty books horses were cool to me back then.

6-8 grade mostly Sci fi books and Action (Android 18 hentai) Wink wink. (AOL jpg load times were hell) (unplug computer internet froze on hentai when parents walking in from work) <----never got caught, but my brother got caught printing out porn on a slow cannon printer LOL.

9-12 mostly the same Sci fi, action, but I also got into manga around 10th grade reason was my area was having constant problem with internet for like 1-2 months from some kind of maintenance so all I could do was read manga as it wouldn't take long to load, but streaming anime was not possible. around senior year I was lured into reading web novels and light novels. and here I am.

Too bad everyone hates dr. Suess now and books of his are banned because they're...."HIGHLY OFFENSIVE"...and that sounds super fun, I wish my school did that. Did the ham taste good still?
