Discussion Chinese authors hate heaven

Against the gods
Plundering the Heavens


Heaven must be thinking "What have i done wrong"

 

Heaven is controlling their fate! Should rebel!

 

Could be any one (or more) of these reasons:

1. Heaven hits MC with thunder tribulations.
2. Heaven drenches MC with rain.
3. Heaven is a barrier between MC and endless void.
4. Heaven exists.
5. Heaven is a symbol of the supreme authority, aka Winnie the Pooh, and breaking the Heavens is some sort of allegory for opposing the dictatorial state.

 

That's the real reason

If it was "I Love The Heavens' then the MC would have Stockholm Syndrome or be an extreme masochist.

You should add 5bis : Religion and mysticism are actively opposed by the party (easy to find which one, as there is only one in China) so authors can butter up the censor authorities by making their character go against the heavens...

Edit : Oh and I forget 6 : there as been quite a few successfull xia novels where the MC was opposing heaven so it became a template and a lot of lazy author use it as a plot, just like young masters, jade beauties, and the usual stuff.
(and CN authors like to copy parts of the titles of successfull novels just as JP authors like their never ending titles)

Like what tops heaven? oblivion? they cant say theyre gonna rise above oblivion bc whats past oblivion? more oblivion.

Its like a student who fantasizes destroying the school. Just change the student to author/mc novel and school to heaven.

In the Plagiarist's last novel, the protagonist worked together with the world's heaven to drive out another invading heaven. Some of his other works featured cooperating with the heavens as well.

 

The heaven is controlling what you do, everything that happens tp you, how you live and when you die, like a puppet on strings.

It creates rules like people can only live for limited amount of time etc.

Of course they should hate the heavens. I'm surprised not enough people hate the heavens in real life.

In western novels no one can become as powerful as the gods and most of the times they have a level cap in the world.
In chinese novels people can kill gods and become gods themselves. The protagonist becomes the Supreme God of all gods.

 

Imo heaven’s represent a their ancient dynasty and nobles (they controlled everything including a commoner’s life) it means that they wanted to change their current life and become independent

Standard Heaven : Oasis that's a reward for good behaviour, rewarded upon death.

Heaven for chinese authors: Level 560 Map filled with level 500 players, achievable by pay2win, massive luck, or grinding in hell-mode level difficulty.

So i dont think they hate the generic term of heaven.

 

No way, if they control everything why would an mc that destroys them be possible? And wouldn't that mean the famous "mc's golden finger" was given to them by the heavens? (the mc is a dog that bites the hand that feeds?)

 

I want to correct a bit: In Chinese culture there is no "Standard Heaven". If you want to be happy forever, you must become immortal since you're still alive. That's why cultivaton novels exist.

 

Because heaven dimensions filled by "doomguy like creatures".
