A few weeks ago, my sister introduced me to ASMR, which she's been using to help her fall asleep at night. I tried showing it to my girlfriend (who also struggles with sleep) and my mother, and neither liked it, but... While trying to find the video, I also discovered Tingting ASMR. I'm hooked... Along with the usual ASMR videos, she does a lot of roleplay with Chinese culture. Sometimes it's informative, sometimes it's just a nice theme to have... Examples: Do you also like ASMR? Do you know any particularly nice/interesting ones? P.S. For those unfamiliar with ASMR, the wiki page is here.
That was extremely...off-putting. Despite the fact she is a beautiful woman, these videos and the way she speaks gave me major creeps.
The whispering and the way she seems to be speaking to you, just makes me think of a creepy stalker ghost/demon whispering to me lol.
the broken english completely kills it for me. I much prefer the super moe girls speaking chinese (though I don't understand a word), blowing into the mic or eating some kind of food etc. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I don't know what this is, but I don't even know why Youtube sometimes recommended me ASMR videos....Tried some of those videos but not my things. Couldn't feel anything, and more like I'm wondering what the heck were this videos even about....was how I 1st felt when 1st watching a ASMR video. But then again, those were the times I kept searching for "relaxing" or similar JP music, so they recommeded ASMR as a suggestion....
agree....change background with a ghost theme and this video will give a scare to those who looked at it....
... I don't know what's more concerning to me: the content of your message combined with that face, or the fact that this keeps gaining more words every time I refresh the page.
That's because I have the bad tendency to post reply before actually writing the whole post x) (But to be fair, it's hard to see how the post will look without a 'preview') p.s. and before someone mentions it, I know there's preview if you click on "more options", but it's just more convenient to post & edit the post a couple of times. It won't say that the post has been edited if you do it before 5 min or whatever it was anyways
I tried it once when I couldn't sleep (turned out I had a very old bed) and it didn't work. I couldn't hear a thing, so I kept upping the volume but it became too loud.
Yay, another ASMR fan~! Do you prefer the non-speaking ones? A few of them are like that for me. There's a brilliant fantasy series I'm interested in because of the plot and setting, but it's not very effective on me as ASMR because she whispers so quietly that I have to pay extra attention to understand her.
I had an asmr phase for a while, I explored all spectrums of the rainbow in that, ranging from Ephemeral Rift, to ppomo to just random videos with random themes like seafoam, or theres weirder and darker ones, weird as in crunchy chicken asmr where you listen to someone eat Popeyes or darker where it's usually dark, gruesome or just plan old sad or even just Hentai asmr, something about hearing Chinese or Japanese just really gets me.
i just can't really get into this. i'd sooner talk to myself, as at least that way i can still respond to my own responses rather than just being some odd sort of bound and gagged wall for someone to talk at. didn't like this crap when they pulled it on nick junior, still don't like it now.
Those Chinese culture ASMR videos felt kinda creepy IMO. I think it's because at some points, there's a strangeness when she speaks as if there's a vacuum sort of sound, not too dissimilar to the sound of a reversed kick. Spoiler: Reversed Kick Drum The reason why this would be off-putting is because it doesn't seem like a natural sound. Generally, with sounds in nature, it's power being released, but when it's in reversed, it's like power being vacuumed up, which could give a strange feeling. As an example in the Chinese Empress video, at around 1:20 when she says, "I have...two of them," it almost has a similar sound. It could be the way the audio was recorded. I listened to the same part on laptop speakers (aka shitty speakers) and then on good headphones, and it still had that sort of vacuum, sucking sound to me, so I don't think it's the playback device. It's good that you enjoy it, and it makes you relaxed. I just wanted to give a bit of perspective as to why others, including myself personally, might find it a bit creepy.
If you need some background sound while sleeping, just google some white noise. For me ASMR is just a sophisticated sounding name for some weird creepy videos.
