    They're a lifelong commitment.

I divorced from them though. Now I have a compulsive fright when I check the chapter count.

Not CN, mainly xianxia and xuanhuan. Well, depends on the author.

    Kinda.

If it was just that they're long, it would be fine. But after a few hundred chapters, they all look the same.

Also, 1/3 of the chapters are repetitive things only present for the character count. :(

They both start out great, but turn bad after a few years. The longer they are, they higher the chances of becoming crap. Only a few are able to stand to the pass of time and be as great in their end as they were in their beginning.
Actually, your posted made me think of Drug Candy and how their marriage was all cute in the beginning and turned to shit after some time, so yeah, they are similar.

If that so, i think im enggaged to iisth...
Its the only novel that i would cling to...
    No cultivation repetition...
    Minimal plot repeat.
I think the author put some thoughts into the plot before writing them.. rarely any fillers..

It's funny, cause you guys are saying all this and will probably go read a VM once a new chapter comes out. I'll be honest with myself thou, they can be a bit repetitive, but rarely ever do I notice this repetitiveness. Most times when i drop a novel it is due to a development I don't like or reveal of MC's character I don't like.

I actually find the ceaseless front of cultivation entertaining somewhat, as far as the author doesn't just for "he cultivated for a decade, level up, for a century , level up"

Haha, idk, I used to love JP romance and fantasy novels.

Now they're so one dimensional I don't even need to read the whole book to know how things end, and who ends up with who.

At least in CN novels I always get a rush out of reading the fight scenes.

That's the reason dating exist to see if you are compatible with your partner. If you are not than you can break up...saves the hassle of divorce.

They are one foot in the grave.
When you divorce you lose out more.
    There's a lot of them.

    Chinese novels are like marriage?

WN/LN's are like marriage. At the start they're fresh and something a little exotic and you feel really good about it. You ask yourself how you didn't get involved with this sooner. But after a while, you begin to either dabble with your ex (anime, manga, etc.) again or go in search of new side-partners even though you know it might go horribly wrong (originals).

You know there is some really attractive alternatives out there to your current situation (published novels) but there's so much out there you don't really know where to go besides your few old favourites that you've already spent too long with.

At the end of the day, you conclude that WN/LN's aren't all that bad. There's probably something better out there, but at least with your current situation, you kinda know what you're going to get. You know that although most days will be the same, occasionally something different will come along which will reinforce your idea that ultimately, your decision wasn't that terrible. You can keep something else on the side too, WN/LN's won't mind.
