I'm MTLing a novel (I'm an NPC) and I have noticed in two chapters Lima has come about and it's not right or relevant. I can't tell if it's an author typo or translation software messing up. I've tried to put it through three websites. Baidu gives the followings translation: Lima holds another pair of chopsticks, looks up and smilingly at the owner of the chopsticks, "Xiao Zhong, respect the old! " 利马一筷子夹住伸过来的另一双筷子，抬头笑眯眯地看着筷子的主人，"小仲啊，要敬老！" Lima is not relevant at all, not a character or relevant place. What is Lima?!
When I first saw lima I thought of lima (立马) as in right away/immediately but its not the same lima.. but apparently the lima you're asking about is the spelling for lima, peru LOL sorry tht didn't rlly help.
If the Chinese words are '立马', it means 'immediately'. If that's '利马', I don't understand it either...
the word is used for Lima of Peru. translate the word separately to get the meaning. li: sharp, favorable, advantage, profit, interest, ma: horse, cavalry piece in chess, the knight in western chess. I just run the character to a dictionary don't know about the rest.
That does actually help. I tried to run it in a dictionary but the dictionary was really set on Lima, so I was probably having trouble on my end XD
I use zhongwen Chinese popup dictionary as chrome extension. you might want to try, as you can hover on Chinese characters and get a translation for specific words instead of the whole sentences.
