Anyone ever notice that most conflicts in Chinese novels use this formula:

Generic Villain A (invades generic location or attacks generic back ground character)

Generic Chinese MC kills Generic Villain A

Generic Villain B gets indignant and yells generic angry response (Scoundrel or Bastard how dare you! Or some other cliche agreeved response)

Generic Chinese MC doesn't retort at the absurdity of being the one called a scoundrel or other remark that places them in the villain role

Sometimes it would be nice if Chinese novel writers would allow more MC's to recognize the absurdity of the situation and respond in kind

The writers can't do that. If they did, how else would the villain fail to recognize Mt. Tai?

What can you do about it? Other than having some other authors mock about it in parodies, or just downright pointing it out. Most authors, regardless of regions, will stick to a template. If it fits, I sit. The cliche dialogues and fight scenes sell, and still selling, so they see no point in racking their limited brain cells to actually write something new, heck, the new stuff might not sell.

Would advise you reading Side Character Transmigrations: The Final Boss is No Joke.
And yes, this is shameless advertising.
The MC isn't the cold and aloof type who doesn't give a shit about people being ridiculous. She cusses and calls them out on it. (Though its mostly in her mind. If she spoke it out, it'd ruin the image she's trying to build)

Errr. Wait a minute. Let’s be honest here ... roughly half the time or more, the MC doesn’t exactly occupy the moral high ground. Quite often, generic villain B is totally in the right to call them a scoundrel, bastard, or whatever, and the only “absurdity” is when the MC acts like a self-righteous prick all hypocritically.

The real cliche is that it’s only okay to be an asshole when you’re the main character.

Sometimes the main character does retort, but the villains just ignore it like the NPCs they are.

Your "generic" plot is, as you say, too generic. It encapsulates pretty much everything outside of the MC deciding to randomly kill people he doesn't know. Make your "generic" plot less generic, and maybe someone will care about what you say. Right now, it's too generic for me.

Funny thing is sometimes I root for those generic villains, that is how bad some of these mc's are.

If the story is way too generic, boring and predictable... Why do you read it?

Go try some new fresh airs instead... Really...

Half the time when I put myself in the situation. MC is pretty much the villain.

I just drop a story for that reason. When A Mage Revolts

The MC had a standoff with some people. They both wanted something from each other. MC wanted his friend back and the group wanted the MC to take away the curse on their friend.

MC wanted more leverage and refuse to comprise. He should have been killed but was lucky because of plot armor.

Reminds me of a scene in Chaotic Sword God when the mc in a bad mood kills a young master that are basically just barking at him without being a real threat, yet it is the father of the dead guy that is treated as the villain of the arc just for wanting some quite justified revenge.
