Words/Phrases: "放荡不羁" "甜爽文" P.S. I'm not sure if every time I need help, I need to make a new thread? Or can I just reply to this one?
放荡不羁 Means a free person, not bounded by ways of the world in Wuxia novels and just generally “free” in modern novels. Translation could be uninhibited and I’ve seen a few translate it as free-spirited. 甜爽文 Means that the type of novel is, as the literal translation implies, sweet and pleasurable. I’m guessing you took this from the summary of a romance novel(or from a description of a novel), and in that case it means it’s full of fluff and feel-good. Most novels of this kind focus on romance and have less focus on plot/logic, and it’s either full of face-slapping or the MC doesn’t face a lot of challenges.
