Then it was hosted on webnovel.
well, no matter how good or original the work is, the author literally sold the rights of the novel to the publishing company itself as they got no platform to publish their work themselves You cant deny that maybe the Korean company are a bit too butt-tight but i wish they would be more flexible on foreign translators though its free mass worldwide marketing man! they don't pay translators, its spread through out the most famous novel website in the internet and more will buy their product just like 'piracy' on games and music(i disagree on the definition of piracy itself, but thats for another argument)
To be honest, from the publisher side I would be very doubtful about the profitability from the "free marketing". I don't think the conversion rate from free readers to actual sales is high. From what it looks like so far, if people actually donate to support a translation its usually a small fraction of very generous readers. Going through the trouble of buying a foreign language novel and having it shipped to wherever you are on the other side of the world? Even if you got a 1,000 people to do that, I'd think that's a drop in the bucket for them and not worth it. And I don't think the number is anywhere near a 100, let alone 1,000.
Yeah it’s not a shared unless there’s multiple Earths (nah), but still I thought it’d be interesting cos there’s a chance some of the abilities would be shared/similar as well. Like dominator is similar to a dungeon master’s command over a creature or Ariel Diablo’s power of words or something. Also the unique lich who’s strangely obsessed is also there. Sadly, I don’t think we’ll ever find out about what else comes out now.
He does have a third story. King of the Battlefield that also uses some of the same tropes but with a different spin.
Feelsbad about the DMCA, always sad to see publishers randomly stopping translations for markets they are not tapping into anyway.
