Comedy Genre for Oukoku e Tsuzuku Michi

this novel is fucking hilarious, why is the comedy genre not in the description page?

when you read the novel page you get the impression that it is some grimdark fantasy with lots of fucking,
but it's not... at least most of the time.
.
I tried correcting this but the Comedy genre is locked out WTF?

I can tell you now, of all the novels I read in this site, this is the only one that can make me laugh my ass off.

 

just because it has some funny things dosent mean that is even remotely the purpose, it just means the story is good.

just look at the first 10 chapters or so, that pretty much sets the tone lol

Oukoku e Tsuzuku Michi fits that description

nope that is satire.
just a grimdark setup for all the shenanigans later on.

 

Try to think about it this way, if you're reading a story that has a really great romance story in the background, but its main focus is action and adventure, you wouldn't label it as a romance.

The genre lets the reader know what story the author is trying to tell, truthfully once a story has gone on long enough it will cover pretty much every genre there is. This would be horrible confusing to a prospective reader though, so it is better to stick to original genre the author had in mind when they started writing.

Well, I've been reading about twenty chapters back then... And, I don't think that genre fit this novel.

if the story is part comedy why not include it?
I think users will benefit from it, I know would have. I avoided it at first because it was another grimdark ero, turns out is more light-hearted than I expected, with humor makes me laugh.

also double entendre jokes do not exist here. the novel is too direct for that weak non-sense.
I am not asking for all ero novels to get the Comedy genre just this one

 

Technically he has already fucked the "hot vampire" the reason he wants to create a kingdom is because he is in love with the vampire, and she only agreed to marry him if he proves himself by becoming king. Which sounds a lot more like adventure romance.

Honestly though I've come to doubt the validity of your thread. It already been explained clearly why Road to Kingdom is not a comedy, numerous times, in multiple different ways. Despite this instead of accepting this information you have obstinately insisted you're correct. It is almost as if you're trying to waste everyone's time with a one sided argument, rather than have a proper debate.

the story fits this description, why not add a comedy?
- its humorous
- its satirizes and subverts common ero/Grimdark tropes
- thematic conflicts end in either an orgy or a joke.

also if genre classification is determined by main focus why do most if not all stories in the site has multiple genre?
if pornographic themes and gore and the like makes a story a non-comedy why is Overlord a comedy?
if the Genre explaination page says no porn for the comedy genre then I would have made this.

 

Listen man I have no idea why somethings are labeled this way sometime, and that way another time. There is technically no rule that a story that has gore or erotica, cannot also be a comedy, and admittedly the person who wrote Road to Kingdom has included some hilarious content.

People are inconsistent creatures though, to you the amount of funny content in Road to Kingdom makes it a comedy, to the author through it does not, and the moderators have chosen to honor that judgement. It is all a matter of perspective, like how people can both agree that a dish is spicy, but some will say it is a mild spice, and some will have to drink five glasses of water by the time they've finished it.

• you get the explanation as to why it wasn't suitable labelled as comedy genre, both by staff and other readers
• you already get the 'no, it wont be unlocked' answer
  
• you even get the alternative suggestion to tag it with Comedic Undertone. (yes, it is an existing tag, click it to see)

imho, genre is not something that should be tagged as much as possible. most of the novel on NU are currently over-genred (as in tagged with too much genre). therefore we try to reduce it whenever possible, and replacing it with tag instead.
