Question Common Chinese Phrases / Expressions

Just want to ask for the common Chinese Phrases or Expressions found in novels and in forums? Translated in rough English if possible.

I'm trying to incorporate them in a novel that I'm writing. It's a Chinese inspired novel, but then I thought, what the hell? I dunno the common expressions that the Chinese people do.

So, my novel's turning into a novel with less Chinese feel in it...

For example, "Your mother!" he shouted.

I've read plenty of Chinese novels, but for some reason, that's the only thing I remember, lol!

Also, they have some fixation with farts. "If you have something to say, pretend they're farts and let it out" or something.

 

I think authenticity is a nice touch but, it is fictional so you can make up what you want to give it your personal style.
If you just use cliche phrases then you're going to write a cliched story and there's already enough of that.
Do some research on reddit n try and ask around for the most unique insults and phrases some Chinese people use at home. Ask for weird family slang and stuff like that or come up with your own funny phrases and ask people to help you translate them. Pigeon English is usually pretty cool to use.
