Movie Crazy Rich Asians

Just done watching this movie with the family and I give this movie a 'Really Good Movie/RomCom Movies".

I enjoyed it. It will sure to hit mainly the female but it got some bro moments too. @LaDyViL will probably nosebleed with all the guys showing their abs here.

Not gonna go talk about the story cause I'm here to say :
If you like RomComs, this is a MUST WATCH from me.

Ah but I will give some little warnings here and there.
- There shall be rich people doing rich stuff. It's the name of the movie.
- There shall be food porn, and lots of it. You better get some food to eat nearby or get well fed before watching.
- Christian theme. It's there. I like it but some of you might not.
- Drama. I know some people are allergic to those so if ya can't handle drama....well, this might hurt you a little bit.
- Chinese people talking. Who knows. Some might get turned off there.
- Multiple couples kissing. Yep lots of kissing. I can already imagine some of you 'Riaijuu-chanters' cringe.

I'm just putting this to the people who might need the forewarning, but it is a real good story. Google it, it's quite popular both in the East and Weat which is always good to know since I really enjoyed it.

 

I loved it. It also made me fall in love with Constance Wu (who plays Rachel).

 

I was wondering if you forgot to name the movie, then I realized that it was in the title.

That a really weird name for a movie.

 

Heard about the movie in the radio multiple times but not my slice of pie

 

I will probably never watch it as I prefer reverse Cinderella stories and haven't enjoyed a romcom in years. Was it south China post website or something that called it a non Asian film with Asians.


I liked her in Fresh Off The Boat trailer

 

It has really good acting and good set to go with it. The moment you talked Cinderella, I thought to myself : "Yeah, that movie sure would be a good Disney movie and I could believe that Disney made it"

After rereading my own post.
I'm surprised I never talked much how I felt about it. Maybe the other me was talking too much warning me of how NUF usually work.

All I wanted to say is that I enjoyed it, and you fellow readers should watch it. I even went in only knowing the male character's face and the title (my family made me follow) and I went out happy I took the time for the movie.

 

Would never watch. I would watch Crazy Rich Kim Jong Un tho.

 

Ehhh, it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. Story is as predictable and overused as can be. Only good thing imo was the acting

 

Yeah, it's sad that so much focus was put on race. I wish for once people can just enjoy media.
Even here, some won't read Japanese or Chinese, must be Korean and vice versa.
Oh well. I am happy for her and the cast but Hollywood won't change its a great PR move though.
It was quite interesting that the director/ producer rejected a Netflix offer so the movie could be shown at the theaters.
I didn't think anyone could reject Netflix haha.
The only way to make real change is to own your own studio or be in charge of production. That's why he could reject Netflix.

 

It was quality acting, you can probably like what each character does in this movie, and even appreciate the 'villians'

And I will also add, tell me a RomCom movie that will surpass this. I might try it.

That was also a point I wanted to add to the warnings but thought I should not put that after a thought.

People in here can't even open their mind to another language, I'm just sad for them.

 

Gonna watch it, interesting Concept, good ratings

Didn't see it, heard good stuff about it, from coworkers. iPlan to watch it when I have a break from work n stuff.

 

Haven't watch the film, but I think we are obsessed with the idea of being rich--like who wouldn't be?
