Thanks for recommending but unfortunately, I dislike dating-sim types, because it reminds of the real life. I hate deciding real life scenario choices and it seems the site is broken too.

Okay... then I'll just search some games at this site of yours, and thanks again for showing a new place to search.

Sure, tho I’ve yet to finish one. You should check out the lemmasoft forums, they post completed indie VNs all the time from creators using Ren’Py.

Did I tell you about that? I don't remember mentioning it here.

I'm currently working on only two fantasy VN game.

One is titled 7 Years of Hope. It's a second chance VN where the player, a divine dancer, goes back seven years to the past to change the future and avoid the calamity that will kill off all humans, elves and faeries in 7 years. This game is easy to program, but I'm currently stuck at the mysteries surrounding the calamity. Every action you make in the game, even helping fix a broken wagon can change your future. All the events are interconnected and although it's very easy to program, it's a very huge work.

The other has the development title of Riverfell. It's a kingdom management VN game where the player is a 16 year old queen thrust into a position of leadership. There is a lot of freedom with this game. The player can build up a militaristic nation, a magic-based nation or a theocracy among others and players can form their own knight orders and send them on quests or just to raid hostile kingdoms. This is easy to write as the events are triggered through player actions and the game date. The story is pretty linear. The problem is, some aspects of the game are hard to program. I plan to offer multiplayer support and scenario editor in the future, but first I need to complete the game itself.

Also, are there other software other than Ren'Py for visual novel engines?:blobwoah: Noncommercial of course.:blobsmirk:

There are several others. I know of two others that are free. But compared to those, ren'py is better in many ways.

I also know one that is cheap, but easier to use than ren'py. Unfortunately, the cheap thing while easy to use, is still buggy and your VN will most certainly be buggy on platforms other than Windows. I've tried it, you can't open the web version of the VN on iPhone and some version of Android couldn't open it either.

I use Construct 2. It's not a VN engine, but modifying it to make a VN isn't too hard. Much easier than coding ren'py to including tactical segments in comparison.
