The Cataclysm

In the beginning, there was naught but a soupy mess of emptiness and raw energy. Then, out of that energy came the first gods, the Primordial Gods, and they laid down the plans for the first world. Down the road, several lesser gods were birthed, and as more and more gods appeared to fill the roles that were required, the older gods retreated back into the shadows, in order to enjoy a short slumber while their children managed the world for them.

Dozing away and unaware of the changes that were taking place, none of the Primordial Gods realised that as time passed, the Age of Gods ended, and the Age of Men took its place. Gods were forgotten, thought of as beings that existed only in the myths, and their influences faded from the world that they had created.

As such, when the Cataclysm started suddenly, without any warning, there weren’t any Gods left to hold back the destruction, and as a result, the first world was practically devastated. Even so, it would be a while more until the oldest gods wold rouse from their slumber, to see what had become of their once beautiful creation.

Karma

A mysterious force which roams the Universe from times before even the most ancient of Gods. It is almost impossible to interfere with it's flow even for the most powerful of beings. And yet it exists within everything, from the smallest pebbles to the Gods themselves. However the most peculiar thing amongst this energy is that it rewards those of whom assist the Universe in it's growth, while punishing those who directly harms its foundations.

Domain

Your domain is the most fundamental part of your godly powers. As such, a God can do almost anything within their domain, from a God of Fire being able to create stars, to a God of Space being able to create a new dimension. While it does not force you to work within it, it is highly recommended that you do not stray too far from it as unforeseen consequences might occur. Typically a divine being's domain is decided from birth, however in some rare cases it can mutate or even be nonexistent, however both of these are impossibly rare and when they do happen typically end up with the divine being destroyed by Karma.

Records Building

A building formed by the Universe it self that contains the records of everything that is known. The Gods themselves may add information as they please to the Records Building, and are highly recommended to. However even if they do not, the Universe, and it's incarnation, Genesis, will correspondingly add everything it finds of significance.

Appearance: An elderly gentleman with short silvery hair and a well groomed beard. He wears what seems to be a tailored suit with tones of black and purple to it.

His eyes change colors with his emotions, and his demeanor does as well.

Appearance: A lady with most of her features obscured by the hood that covers her face. Likewise, the bulk of her figure is hidden under the cloak that she dons, leaving her appearance a mystery. Her clothes constantly change colours, shifting randomly across light blue to the darker shades of purple.
Holy Symbol: A small signet with the crest of a blue-coloured bird.

History: Back in the Age of Gods, Iahan was known as an enthusiastic innovator responsible for many of the complex alchemical wonders and civilisations behind them; formed from the marriage of scientific rationality and supernatural ingenuity.

A strong belief in the potential of the collective power of mortal men drove him to accomplish many acts to benefit man as a whole in many locations of the world, becoming a sage in some and a messiah in others.

It was said he eventually created his Magnum Opus; the Aetherium Engine, and with its completion ascended to divinity; although it was quite an orthodox ascension by the standards of other divines, as he suddenly became a divine without much flair.

Although he doesn’t have much of a religious following, many alchemists revere him as a great teacher; the Quixotic Starsage.

The title comes from his philosophies as well- although he was a mainly an alchemist, he also held lengthy debates on the nature of man, matter and the universe; mainly with what some may call a dreamy, overly optimistic view.

Iahan also enjoyed reading poems and prose and loved plays. Despite clearly having possessed quite a vested interest in philosophy, there is little in terms of any of his philosophical works, although some of his personal quotes, debates, and the more famous of his interactions with others, have been recorded into the book ‘Alchemist’s Silver’, which existed well into the Age of Man under the alternate title of ‘Quixotics’.

Appearance: A translucid sphere. Usually grey, its color can change. Elzear holds the ability to change its form (which it rarely does) at its will, however, it will keep its substance, as in, whatever form it uses, it will be translucid. There was no distinctive aspect about his look.

History (draft, to add more): As an Old One and due to his experiences from the previous age, Elzear has came to grow perplexed about its own existtence, more precisely, its concept of fate. Despite everything, the Deity of Fate thought that they should still have a hand in the creation of a new world because of its responsabilities toward it. Thinking can come later.
Later on, the Deity would avoid speaking about the past or itself. As if it has been deeply affected by the previous age.

 

"It has been a long time Azura, Iahan, Elzear," Abyss said looking at the collapsing of the universe. The universe which had existed for eons had begun its final descent.

"These endings always feel so abrupt," he said turning to his kin, his eyes a tranquil purple.

"...Too abrupt indeed." A faint humanoid silhouette appeared, with a grave murmur, as if coming from a throat long disused.
"Something terrible happened. None of us could react fast enough to stop it, despite all the countermeasures."

 

"It has been a while."

Azura spoke absentmindedly, her hands crackling with prismatic colours.

"I woke up as soon as I could, but even so, this is all I managed to salvage."

She nodded sadly at the little orb hovering between her palms.

"A while, you might say. As for me, it still feels fresh." Elzear's voice popped out of a grey orb with no distinctive features. It turned toward its comrades, or so it thought.

"While it is terrible. It is curious. I wonder what happened for everything to 'explode' like that, excuse the term."

 

"All things must end eventually," Abyss said unusually calm and serene, "Luckily it seems to be the crunch this time" he said with a chuckle as his eyes changed to yellow.

"The greatest part of an ending is a new beginning," he said with a smile feeling the ensuing chaos.

Iahan's silhouette seemed to pause.
"I'm not sure. The universe's fragments didn't seem to fulfil the conditions of an old, shrinking universe, and certainly, it shouldn't happen so fast that we wouldn't have woken in time- especially with countermeasures, from those of us that still had a vested interest. I fear something else might have thrown their wrenches in the works, to be blunt."

 

"Let's see...what I salvaged was mostly the pieces of land that broke off in the collapse. There's precious little intelligent life that managed to last long enough...what about you, Elzear? Surely you must have managed to preserve a lot of things given your domain, right?"

The preoccupied Azura spared a few seconds to conjure up another orb with her free hand.

"As for me? Aren't you having some misconception, Azura? Given my domain, that is unlikely that I will save a lot of things. On the contrary, it was fate that everything ends. My goal should be just to follow it."
If it could, the Deity of Fate would have let out a bitter chuckle, of course, it will not mention that it was a joke. Despite everything, it just stayed still and it continued to speak.
"Nonsense aside, I have saved ressources such as water, gas, ores, and so on, nothing alive. Also some remnants of intelligent beings' writtings, works, these things."

 

"Seems for a God of Fate you're tampering with it slightly," Abyss said with a chuckle as his eyes turned a frosty blue.

"Well no matter," he said grabbing some of the particles which are beginning to decay rapidly, "Just be ready for the bang," he said cracking his knuckles.

 

Iahan nodded, focusing intently as a multitude of colourful shards swirled around him from the fabric of the void.
”I've managed to save a various number of fragments from the various conceptual systems of the universe before it suffered a complete breakdown in order. WIll be enough to fuel redevelopment of the new world. Anyway, let us get on with it, quick- tarrying shall not do us any more good."

 

'The God of Fate's useless...'

Azura made a mental note to herself, before she pocketed the orb that had the things she managed to nab.

"I'm going to go make a realm to place these, for now. See you guys around."

As the cataclysm arrived, nearly all life faced the inevitable destruction, goblins included. However, fortunately or not, before the apocalypse had come a certain tribe called "Green Eyes" had been chased by the surface races deep into the depths of earth. Stranded, with no way out, their number kept falling one by one. In order to survive they sacrificed their own members in an ancient rite and strengthened those that still had hope. This kept going until only one last goblin remained, Grehok. Even he, the alst of his tribe and perhaps even kind, was not able to last long. Soon, it was his time and with teary eyes, Grehok sacrificed himself in the name of his tribe, of his bloodline. It was at the moment he was about to step towards the light that the world took pity on the poor soul and Grehok ascended.

Appearance:
His original appearance is that of a black humanoid made from burning ashes and covered with a metal skin.
He has two straight horns with flames always burning at the tips.
Ever since humanity discovered electricity in the first world, lightning has begun to run between the metal plates of his skin.
His eyes shine with white light, without any irises.
His Hair is also pure white, long enough to reach his lower back.
officially he has no gender, but for the sake of simplicity, everyone refers to him in male pronouns.
His body shape is androgynous, yet muscular, however, his muscles are of those of a blacksmith rather than a soldier.

Ever since he got bored with his duties, Naraku has been reincarnating into random humans and life forms to study mortals and their culture, thus he can take shape of any of his former hosts.

During the cataclysm he was unable to prevent, his holy spirit was released back into godhood due to the prayers.
Since he grew to somewhat like humans and their potential to destroy and create, he used his regained powers to create emergency shelters for the survivors.
