Crusader Kings 2 and EU4 are on sale the next few days on humble bundle~ (USD $10 each) Trying to decide whether I should get it. If I did get any, it'd probably only be one. Which one did you like more and why?
I've played EU3 and CK2 is more entertaining to me. Playing a dynasty rather than a country. Don't know about EU4. I haven't played it yet.
the eu 4 is nice epcially as agroup but id say for singleplayer and replayability (in the same nation) ck 2 is a bit better
Both games are similar, but I'd have to go for CKII, if only because you can enjoy it more with fewer DLCs (more money). EU IV has you focus more on the government, whereas CKII is more focused on the family/dynasty. Both are military focused. The only bad thing about Paradox is their modus operandi regarding DLCs, so be careful with their games. I recommend M&B Warband if it's on sale XD
I've played both to death and they are both good. However, as someone who hasn't played either I'd strongly recommend EU4. CK2 can be incredibly frustrating if you just want to blob your empire. Likewise, most new Paradox players come from the Total War franchise; needless to say, EU4 is your best bet.
EU4 is more universal. You can play from the Americas all the way through to Japan. And each country has their own events. That said, the regions are less detailed. The game is designed to not burden you with too much information or micromanaging. CK2 is mostly centered on Europe. The later expansions allow you to play as far as India and allowing you to form relations with China, but it's really about Europe. But what it does offer is minute detail about everything you need to become a political leader of medieval Europe. You have too many children and you're afraid they'll split your empire apart after you die? Just kill one of them. You want your dynasty to be nothing but inbreds? No problem, just get the culture that allows inbreeding. If you want to play Game of Thrones mod, though, CK2's mod is better.
EU4 is my vote as I find it far more enjoyable, but CK2 is way better in terms of roleplaying if that's what you prefer.
Pick CK 2. Start breeding nobles like animals they are. Seriously though, know how to breed and raise them could give you huge advantage.
The most fun i have with EUIV is leaving the old world and establish capital in the new world, while in CK 2 i can bitchslap the emperor by being a powerful vassal king, so...
