sigh...lemme give you a less biased answer, kay?

Reasons for not being on NU:
NU policy. There was an active translator. QI has to hit 50 before we'll link to them
^ this is the only legitimate reason.

As for allegations that QI stole chapters from Wei...
Well, one thing people need to understand is that what the translators do and what QI does is two different things. It's hard to assign blame here unless somehow proof comes out that tl'ers were ordered to steal chapters. Which makes no sense since QI is paying the translators for those chapters.

The translator could have decided to copy the translations and change it here and there, but that is something really hard to prove. There are only so many ways you can translate something. However, it is possible. There was a case a week back where a QI tl'er basically admitted to plagiarizing another translator (Evil Emperor's Wild Consort). QI and the original translator came to an agreement later, tho dunno if it went through. So is it possible? yeh. Is it definite in this case? Eh...

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOW, because some opinions really trigger me...I wish people would shut the f--- up about who's the thief and who's the victim (translators vs QI) or how QI is totally justified cause it's their novel initially. The source material does belong to Qidian. The license to publish belongs to Qidian (other than the ones bought by groups like WW). However, translations belong only to the translator. You can be DMCA'ed for your translation which is basically a cease and desist. That does not mean they can take yo' shit. If a translator of QI did take someone's work, there are legal options, though whether QI will give a shit about it is up for debate. So before you start screaming about stealing and not stealing, get your facts straight.

The right to translate and publish the novel is QI's.
The right to the translations belong to the translator.

@Darkaeluz as your question has been answered, I am locking this thread.

P.S Right or wrong, better or worse, that is all subjective. Just do whatever you see fit and don't try jamming it down another person's throat.
