Welp, after finally catching up to the Haikyuu Manga, and started reading The Story of a Small Fox Who Has a Star. (which currently has an abysmal amount of translated chapters, novel (since it was recently picked up) and the manga (dropped 6 years ago).) I desperately want a novel/manga/anime wtever with and adorable protagonist. I would like to say that as long as the character is cute then it'll be all fine, but it's not. for example, the character needs to be cute, but not horrendously stupid that you want to punch them in the face. I'm fine with dense, gullible and innocent. But i really hate those mangas with main characters that use kindness to hide away the mc's flaws. an example of a bad "cute" protagonist: Inaka Life. (goddamn do i hate this protagonist. None of , "I was raped but I love you", no, cause that's BS. the story doesn't necessarily have to be fluffy. For example, Mimizuki to yoru no Ou (one of my most beloved novels) has a tragic past and broken child protagonist, that I find very lovable. yet the story was very healing. Tohru from Fruits Basket also fits the bill, she's cute, kind, naive but reliable. but with enough darkness to slowly flesh out her character. I also love characters like Hinata shouyo, who's all jumpy jumpy, cute, goddamnit he's scary as f*ck all of a sudden but Ilove him. Sunshine. At the Northern Fort is also a perfect example, the fox protagonist is so cute. so yeah, cute but not annoying is what I'm looking for. All genders are accepted. BL is also accepted. romance/non-romance is also accepted, all ages accepted. actions and adventure is accepted. It can be fluffy, it can be heartbreaking, it can be comedic, just not stupid. Romance or no romance is all good, but the other lead mustn't be a black belly asshole. They should at least have a cute side. Excessive tsundere's are not welcome though, normal tsundere's are acceptable as long as it's actually cute (although i am bias for male tsunderes) All forms of media are accepted. Anime, manga, film, movies, Tv series, original novels, translated novels. fictions from sites like wattpad and fanfiction.net is also good. thanks!

Why oh why did you bring this novel to light? Just started it but already getting the symptoms of cancer. This truly is the answer to all and I would rate it a 10/10 for all the wrong reasons. But I wish I had never come across it cause now I have to finish it.

Idk why Kuma is such a popular rec for cute/fluff but it's popular. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I recommend: Spoiler: Novels Doro Doro Obake Ouji-sama - A JP novel where a young girl gets cheated on by her fiance but sets her eyes on her real crush and childhood friend instead. Unfortunately this friend has been cursed to look like a monster. The novel focuses on their interactions which are 1/10 parts angsty and 9/10 parts adorable. 18+ for some scenes. Isekai Izakaya Nobu - A JP novel where the characters are new in almost every chapter but those familiar with these type of novels won't care. It's about a restaurant that finds itself serving the usually arrogant and skeptic locals of another world! You can read about how they manage to change the outlooks and even alter schemes with just a single dish! I'm not sure if I'd categorize this as fluffy but it's definitely healing. The Overflowing Fragrance of Fish - A CN novel about a carp spirit who aims to meet and repay the kindness of a god who saved her in passing. She's dedicated much of her efforts into grooming herself into the best fish a main dish could ever need! The ML's iceberg tactics can't touch this MC because they just go over her head! Many cute misunderstandings and shenanigans to be found. I have to admit I laughed a few times reading this one. Lightning Empress Maid - A JP novel where the MC is an OP "emperor" with the power of lightning. She's chased away into hiding by the other emperors because of a prophecy and, with little else to do, she picks up the job of being a maid. Her special personality was created without the pinch of common sense, but it's okay! Her interactions with others are funnier that way! Not sure if I'd call this cute but it's a fun read and she's very set on doing her best every day. It's Because You Said There'd Be Candy!! - A JP short story entailing the journey of a baker-turned-hero. The MC wasn't a very smart child when she was young and once she got older, she squandered away her best years to marry. Who knew that even after that, she'd be chosen to be a a hero? With ingredients in one hand, and a magical sword in the other, she's setting out to end world hunger!! ...Eh? What do you mean that's not right? (But honestly a heartwarming little story. It has a sequel too!) Spoiler: Anime and Manga Nukoduke - A slice-of-life manga about a guy who picks up 2 nukos on a rainy day. He's initially reluctant on keeping them, but their charm slowly won him over (as well as readers' hearts). Nukos are special pets that look like the cross between cats and really, really small children. A winning combination for sure. The manga usually illustrates their lives together as well as the nukos' slowly growing horizons. Yotsubato/Yotsuba! - A funny slice-of-life manga about a young girl who interacts with the worlds in her queer ways the only way a kid can. She lives her daily life with a single father who indulges her strangeness, even encouraging her, while still being a good parent. It's heartwarming and funny to read. Centaur no Nayami - A fantastic slice-of-life manga about a world where humans evolved differently to what we're used to. Everyone's either part animal or part mythical creature, including our titular centaur MC. The manga revolves around her and her friends' lives as they go through school, friends, and maybe sometimes aliens (maybe no aliens). Gochuumon wa Usagi desu ka?/Is the Order a Rabbit? - A slow slice-of-life anime and manga about a young girl who moves to a completely new place to attend school. She mistakenly enters a cafe in search of bunnies only to find out that cafe was also her boarding house. Many lolis and a handful of rabbits in this series. Whether you watch it or read it, you'll be able to enjoy the cute interactions of these girls whilst they grow and learn about what it's like to have friends. Did I mention they all work in cafes? Hanayamata - A slice-of-life anime and manga starring a girl who feels like a boring Plain Jane and wishes desperately to change herself. On a fateful summer night, she meets a fairy-like girl practicing a dance. Through this, she learns to have friends, have confidence, and dance yosakoi! I personally prefer the anime. Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko! - A manga about a girl who's in the cusp of her high school years yet she still can't get her childhood friend to recognize her as a girl! You heard it right, he still stubbornly sees her as a (tom)boy from their childhood days. With plans and plots, she plans to get him to see her as a her yet! Over 500 chapters and still running but her personality's honestly funny and cute. The ML is dense, he's really dense, but not to the levels where you'll want to bash his head in. It all works out in the name of plot! No, not that plot! I may have more but I figured it'll make this too long to read, if it isn't already.
