It's Studio Trigger. They ain't messing around. If you are instead interested in everything else Cyberpunk 2077 announced, check it out here:
that's cool for a game to become an animated tv series. I would love for Detroit becoming human to have an animated tv series too the games has lots drama and it's thrilling.
game into anime? i already know this is going to shit and yes, games into anime have been shit adaptations before, same for game to movie. and vice versa.
there are plenty of games that were turned into animated movies and animated tv series that are really good adaption of the game. more than the few failed ones.
Wouldn't get my hopes up too high, considering how the year has been going. "Keep your expectations low boy, and you will never be disappointed." - Kratos
from what i've seen. not really. ill give it to digimon first season but afrer that not even close. pokemon doesn't even follow the game template so it doesn't count and those shorts (origins) were.. lame
Studio Trigger. Coming 2022, thats 2 years from now. I bet this will become one of the most popular anime of 2022. CDPR had worked with Netflix before on their witcher series, and look how massively popular that series is.
People failed to realize this is a Japanese studio adapting a western game, not Hollywood adapting a japanese manga/anime/game.
no. i noticed. TrIgGeR. so what? makes no difference at all. aside from their animations being beautiful. their stories.. were always trash kill la kill can be argued to be somewhat okay due to how weird it is. but in general the plots of all animations TrIgGeR has made have been below average on the grand spectrum of all things
The Witcher Netflix series is based off the books, not the games. CDPR had no part in it's development.
did you forget street fighters? tekken bayonetta clannad blaze blue da capo devil survivor <--- persona games included ef tales of memories fate stay night god eater .hack tales series <-- has extensive movies and ovas sonic - movies, tv series xenosaga samurai showdown final fantasy 7 <--- advent children had massive sales castlevania arc the lad <---ps1 game got a good anime tv series amagami series <--got several season. mega man - had several tv shows over the years I could name more, but it would be too long. there are so many games that went to be good tv anime series.
it's more that most don't suit your taste instead of them being bad. clannad is very good, but I like something with more action while slice of life can be fun to watch I mainly use them to relax when I have watched too many action, adventure, fantasy etc.
i like action, adventure, sci fi and such. more than regular slice of life. but the list you made.. i watched almost all and they bored me to death
The recent Sonic movie was fairly entertaining. As long as they cater to actual fans and not sabotage their efforts by "attempting" to reach new audiences by alienating fans, then they should do fairly well. The tales of Zestiria anime was... like fanfiction halfway through. The two persona 4 animation did well imo being entertaining and gaining interest with a newer crowd. I personally bought the persona games myself after watching the anime, but I was already playing devil survivor and shin megami tensei. The devil survivor anime was meh. Clannad was great. Alita battle angel was really good, props to the people that made it. Fate series are pretty well made, but those are based off visual novels with plenty of source material and lore. My reaction to the news is... cautious. If they have any form of censorship or cater to the far left audiences or far right, then I'll simply skip. Their goal should be to entertain and not lecture their audience. Attempting to do both is just asking for low ratings. Although, people haven't played cyberpunk 2077 yet, sooo.... hard to say if the hype lives up to expectations or not.
This is why pokemon is the best example of how to do a game tie in movie there is. This assumes it's even based on Cyberpunk 2077 and not the TTRPG cyberpunk game.
