I'm so going to go through all of these. All of them sound pretty much in my strike zone. XD A few of these actually sound really familiar. I remember tygati, and her stuff is amazing! I think I also have a few of Rachel Lynn's stuff favorited. I actually did the same thing of stalking fav author favorites, but the downfall of that was when they didn't have a fav story list. orz I was disappointed so many times. The only one I can rec in return is aggybird's stuff. I can't link her fictionpress page since I don't have enough posts lol. Just search fictionpress for aggybird and she should pop right up of you're interested. I absolutely adore all of her stories (though there's only 3 to choose from. ;_ Greg the Vampire is forever incomplete, but what is written is AMAZING. Every character is ridiculous and adorable and omfg, just reccing this is making me despair again over the wip. (Who doesn't have a ridiculous fanfiction rec list lol!)
AAAAA yes!!!! I love Aggybird!!! you have good taste, friend!!! Ahhh Greg the Vampire so delicious, so much UST... why must it be incomplete?! ... now that I think about it, Aggy published a slash book several years ago. Wonder if it's still on sale though...
She published a novella that was amazing a while ago. The one I’ve been waiting for is the Jack and the Beanstalk modern rewrite that has been in the works for years...and that she’s promised will be published and has released a sneak peek, but I’ve periodically been stalking her website and there’s nothing besides the novella! orz
So is there a list of BL written by men for men? Or something without the strict top/bottom, gong/shou, seme/uke dynamic that I see practically everywhere? It doesn't need to be a reversible couple. I'm just looking for something a bit more true to life than the obsessive borderline rapey hypermasc top and the frail pet-like passive bottom. Preferably with a fantasy element of some sort but whatever.
There are ordinary gay erotica/romance novels, if those will do? Or are you specifically looking for Asian novels?
Looking for something more Asian themed atm! Been reading Chinese as a way to practice but anything Asian works.
I don't know many, but "No. 6" had quite a realistic relationship. They get a little bit twisted because it's a dystopia novel, but no worse than a hetero romance in such a book. There's also "The Rental Shop Owner", if i remember correctly. There's no fantasy to it, and it's quite dark, but it's a fairly realistic relationship.
Try Silent Reading, it's translated up to ch 10 now. No of the characters are described as beautiful, feminine, or anything like that, even the shou. They are both equal I'd say. It's mistery setting (police and crime) tho, so idk if it'll suit your taste.
I’m Not Shouldering This Blame - they have the same figure. Modern supernatural/fantasy Zui Xing Mai Shen - the translation is a bit............... but the couple is not that strict at who is gong or shou, it only depends who has the end of the stick The Founder of Diabolism - there's some small height diference, but the mc doesn't seem like a barbie doll. Ancient supernatural/fantasy.
I have no idea who to ask, but hopefully, @alexfilia @kiara8 @ayyshadow @Selax and others could help me, so i found this on my reading list http://www.danmeila.com/chongsheng/31688.html but i don't remember the english spoiler thread name, please help me to find it orz . . . i'm sure it's one of recs from NU and have a thread bc i rarely search danmei to read by myself . . . .
Something about the scifi world with the general who was saved by a fox guy who transmigrated(?) from ancient time and the fox became his wifey
never mind ....i think i saw it somewhere before but it may have been in danmei room or some suggestion ...as for spoiler thread i havent found anything yet
Thank you for replying . . . if none of you haven't seen it on NU thread, maybe i found through the author tag orz, but i rly don't remember LOL
Most yaoi has that type of thing. Just yesterday I was very disappointed when I read Kuroneko Kareshi (Black Cat Boyfriend) since the summary looked promising... but no, it was the same old reluctant uke/aggressive seme dynamic. Have you tried The Reader and Protagonist Definitely Have to Be in True Love (my project)? The main couple are in love and the uke is shy but tries to be more active.
