Danmei that I've read and like so far: Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation/Founder of Diabolism Heaven's Official Scum Villain The Daily Task of Preventing My Disciple (I keep forgetting the rest of the title) Spring Trees and Sunset Clouds Danmei I've read and don't like: system transmigrations world hopping Legendary Master's Wife What I Want: I would really love to get some historical/historical fantasy danmei reccs. I'll take completed translations, unfinished translations, and even novels that haven't been picked up by a translator (I'd like a link to the raws website, though). I would especially love for novel reccs where you end up falling in love with the characters (like GDC) instead of the "yaoi" if you get what I mean. I like characters that are multi-dimensional, aren't characterized as either friend or foe, and can be empathized with. Which, in my opinion, is what LMW did (hence my dislike) and what GDC did not. GDC made you hole out a space in your heart for every single character in that novel, whether they were the good guys or the bad guys. LMW basically viewed every other character (exc for the main couple) as expendable. And even then, the main couple were pretty static. So, yeah! Thanks in advance!

I don't read that much historical BL, so the recs I have for that are ones I know about. I hope they help. Cultivation BL in Ancient Times Dinghai Fusheng Records (new, only 2 chapters out) Rebirth of the Supreme Celestial Being The #1 Pretty Boy of the Immortal Path (new, 4 chapters out) Modern Day Fantasy (I added it because I like the characters) Guardian (They have made a drama of this one, and I am obsessed with it)
Ah comrade~ stories with a fleshed out and lovable cast are my favorite too. I think that GDC did that the best though... For historical and fantasy novels, I can only think of these two- Rebirth of the Supreme Celestial Being Liu Yao: The Revitalization of Fuyao Sect (I've heard that all stories by this author, Priest, are full of very well-developed characters and interactions. For example, Faraway Wanderers also seems like it might fit what you're looking for, though I haven't read this one myself) If you're not against JP novels then I'll be shameless and drop in the name of the novel I'm translating too.
