    question: after checking out different spoilers, did Eclise leave just like that? After her apology, and taking off his slave collar, did he have thoughts on FL or his moments in the South (someone said FL suggests him going there to avoid persecution...)

    He kinda betrayed her but also he didn't. It can't really be called betrayal because he wasn't doing it on purpose to hurt her, he just fell into Yvonne's manipulation a bit but he still prioritized Penelope.

    Penelope also admits several times after their separation that it was her who ruined Eclise's life, and
    when he makes an appearance after losing his memory and they have a chat and he asks if she knows him, she tells him that that she was the one who destroyed his life.

    Reading the thing, I came to realise I actually like the duke! His indifference and neglect did do a lot of damage but I think he recovered well. Especially how he handled everything when the real daughter came back. He still put penny’s emotions beforehand. He’s likeable. And not to mention how cute he is in the special chapters

    You can see concern in dukes eyes while only hostility in stupid Derrick
