Thanks for the spoilers! Vinter vs. Yvonne confrontation for me wasn't as disappointing (But I have to agree on the small dusappointment he never considered the Layla cultists would brainwash the kids. Sure, he's partially in denial but at the same time, he's level of prepared counterattack was weak, if he wanted to negotiate with Yvonne and would still have a smidge of hope that what he knows was a bit real, fine he can have that but if he also was presented with proof that justifies his suspicions, the he at least had to make sure Yvonne shouldn't have been near to those kids. Am I being a bit harsh here?). At least he made it clear that he's siding with Penelope, 80-90% but its still hard for him to accept the woman he's known for so long is actually some great evil (again, its probably just my Vinter bias, but I can never hate him, the same case but on a lower level with tsundere Reynold/Reynalt. On his case, the only reason the guilt is resurfacing is partially because he never got to see OGPenelope's POV and the harsh life of being poor but I will say this, his growth is my 2nd favorite after Callisto when it comes to the capture targets).

Ah, Derrick's mistake will forever haunt him. This DOES make him look pitiful though so not a lot of bad words for me this time since his father was the one who told him to shut up this time. That was satisfying. Also, really proud of Reynalt/Reynold (sometimes, I oddly prefer the former way of spelling his name, but the latter is mostly used in the forums that I sometime just go along with it), even when drunk, he was able to deduce the truth on his own with the poison incident. Again, I'm so proud of him. Sure, I still have some level of issues with him (again, if Penelope's whole demeanor didn't change or she had to show disdain to him for him to realize he f*cked up. Lovely for character development but I feel like somethings lacking)

Sorry I didn't include it in my summary, but Vinter did actually check the children for brainwashing and didn't detect any traces of it which is why he was so shocked Raon had been. But then, if he couldn't tell that Yvonne was brainwashing him from the start I don't imagine he could accurately detect it in the first place which is probably why he couldn't sense it from Raon.

Emily is still missing - she disappeared 2 days after Penelope. 2 other employees have also disappeared strangely from the estate without taking severance pay. One is a maid Leah and the other a stable boy named Paul.The duke decides not to investigate. He thinks his runaway daughter and sons are more trouble than runaway servants. He asks about Reynold. The butler tells him that Reynold is still asleep after coming home in the early hours drunk. After Penelope left, Reynold drank every day and sometimes in the night he woke the servants because he cried so hard. There is a rumor among the employees that he was suffering a broken heart. It seemed to happen after Penelope left. The duke then asked about Derek. The butler hesitates and tells him that Derek hasn't returned since last night. They received a message telling them that he was in a village outside the capital because there were reports of witnessing Penelope there. The duke wished he'd drink like Reynold. At a certain point, Derek's clear eyes had become bizarre and he lost his enthusiasm and reason. After Penelope disappearance he completely changed and went crazy. The duke couldn't control him and Derek would lead the knights out on fictional day to find Penelope. The duke sighed at the constant news about Derek. He then asks about Yvonne. She has not eaten properly for several days because of the bruising. Emily claimed to be the culprit but then disappeared from prison. As all the suspects were missing, the case was buried and all that was left was a rumor about the fake princess beating the real princess.

2.The duke decides to visit her. After her return to the mansion he never visited her once and after all that happened with Penelope he ended up neglecting her. The duke had put her into a guest room on the 1st floor and rejected her request to visit her old room on the 3rd floor because he was worried about her coming into contact with Penelope on the second floor. The duke arrives at her room and asks if she's okay. He received reports that she was too sick to eat but when he looks at her she looks perfectly healthy. She calls for refreshment. After Penelope's coming of age ceremony the duke had distanced himself from Yvonne out of guilt towards Penelope. He thinks he is a terrible father with no idea how to treat his younger daughters. Yvonne pours them tea and he tells her that she's welcome in this household. But also asks her not to blame Penelope. He thinks it's his fault Penelope is crooked but says she doesn't have a bad heart so he hopes Yvonne understands. Yvonne cries blaming herself for what happened and asks has Penelope been found. The duke tells her not to worry as she can take care of herself. The duke notices that despite the tears in her eyes, her face is expressionless like a doll and feels spooked. The duke tries to change the subject and asks if there is anything she wants as she must be uncomfortable stuck in her room. The head maid is out on sick pay and one of the missing employees is Yvonne's new maid, Leah. Yvonne is shocked that she ran away but hopes she will be happy with Paul. The duke is friendly to her but wonders whether he mentioned that she had ran away with the stable boy. He can't see any falsehood in her eyes and thinks that this nerves are sharp because of Derek. As he looks down at the tea he notices there is no reflection in Yvonne's cup. He looks at his own tea as sees his reflection and recalls Penelope's warning to look at her tea cup when he's with her. The duke holds in a groan and quickly tries to remember his last conversation with Penelope. He remembers that they had a luncheon together and she wanted to go on an outing. He had told her he would help her even if she ran away. He thinks that if she was a person there should be a reflection and wonders who the child is in front of him. Yvonne had passed all the tests with her appearance being the same and the memories she had could only be known if you were the person. If it wasn't for Penelope, he would have immediately announced Yvonne's return. He wonders when Penelope noticed it. His memories of the luncheon are hazy and he can't remember her face when she told him to be careful of Yvonne. His head is spinning and he's scared and hesitates. Yvonne continues talking about Paul and Leah snapping the duke's thoughts back to the present and he asks what she is talking about. She asks if there's something in his tea as he keeps staring at the mug but the duke tells her he has just realized he forgot something, clenching his fist under the table. As he tries to leave Yvonne stops him saying she remembers what she wants - she wants to go out. She claims to be worried about the orphans she used to look after in her village.The duke says he'll give her an escort as its dangerous outside but she refuses saying she's lived outside for most of her life so she'll be fine. The duke says he'll give her the carriage but she must be back before sundown.

3. When the dune returns to his office, the butler asks if he had a good conversation with Yvonne. The duke orders him have a wizard with tracking magic tail her. He also orders that the 1st division of knights and all their wizards must gather behind the manor and to call back Derek immediately. They have an emergency.

4. Vinter arrives in the alley. His body feels broken from his constant travels. He has been scouring the country for ancient texts he can decipher. Only ancient magic works on the Leyla and the ancient wizards are gone and their magic lost so the only way to confront the Leyla was to recreate the mirror of truth. So in order to do this, his has been searching for ancient documents and material. As he reaches the top of the stairs he sees the door to his shop in unlocked. The door has magic on it that will only open for designated clients to prevent situations of them arriving and leaving whilst he was away. For example, like a woman who left silently after receiving a purple flower... As Vinter enters he turns sharply and asks who it is. Yvonne emerges saying he's here now. She's here to make a request or rather to find a missing item and then identifies him as the Marquis of Verdandi. A horrifying silence fills the room. Vinter steps inside blocking the outside from danger, as a silent battlefield begins. He asks how she got in here but she innocently says the door was open and requests him to return her item. Vinter tries to deny knowing what she's talking about and asks her to come back tomorrow as it's too late. She asks how much must he disappoint her. He seen how much she suffered in that town and despite knowing she was the duke's lost daughter, he still left her alone. Vinter remembers his sin of turning away. For Penelope, who would be sad if Yvonne returned, he didn't say anything. Yvonne continues to tell him how she nearly died when the monsters attacked and the cut on her forehead hurt so bad. But what really hurt the most was how the Marquis distanced himself from her. She asks why he hasn't come to do volunteer work since. Vinter remembers that after they returned from Soleil and he took Penelope home, purple roses bloomed in his unconscious space. Without knowing the reason for why the flowers bloomed, he only watched Yvonne from afar and never met her again. Yvonne says she recognized him right away at Penelope's coming of age ceremony but he accused her of being a killer.. she wonders aloud how he can be so cruel and begins to cry. Vinter closes his eyes remembering there was a time he used to want to listen to whatever she said when he saw her blue eyes full of tears. But at some point it was replaced with dry turquoise eyes. Eyes that were resigned to the knowledge that no one would believe them (i.e. Penelope). Vinter opened his eyes and replied coldly that it was probably not monsters that hurt her but the magic of Penelope that day on Soleil. He points out the monster who supposedly attacked her normally leaves large legions with lots of bleeding but she was only a bit bruised with a cut on her forehead. As if she was hurt by something falling. That day on Soleil island, Penelope's wide area attack caused the cave to collapse so it was due to the fallen rubble. After this he began to investigate Yvonne because she was attacked by monsters in a village far away from the village she originally lived. Whats more, it was right after what happened in Soleil. He then continues and tells Yvonne the maid Becky's soul had already confirmed that it was Yvonne who ordered her to get the poison for her own plot. After the conversation with Penelope at the duke's estate, Vinter spent a lot of energy summoning the soul of Becky. He wonders why he couldn't believe her. He wanted to immediately tell the duke and clear Penelope's name. But he couldn't.., there were some summonings which were taboo in the empire and Penelope had made up her mind. She had a face that looked like she would die if she didn't leave the duke's state immediately. He then asks Yvonne is she has anything else to say. Yvonne steps forward and her face is revealed. It's creepy - with half of her face crying and the other half fine.

5. She tells Vinter to return her piece and he tells her he doesn't know what she's looking for and he doesn't have it. Yvonne remarks that their reactions are the same. She tells him Penelope said the same thing and ran away before she ate her. Vinter remembers Penelope telling him she was brainwashed and barely managed to run away. (Okay this next bit I'm not 100% sure but I think she implies that she knew Penelope came here after running away from the house because this is where Derick found her). She tells him to stop it and give her a piece. When he denies having it she takes out another piece of the mirror and and says she'll use this. He tells her it's useless because he's released from her brainwashing. He no longer feels sorry for her or misses her and only feels aversion and disgust for her. She agrees and puts the piece back into her pocket. She then takes a step towards him and he becomes nervous reaching for his cane. She tells him there's one thing the wizards have been mistaken about for hundreds of years. She tells him that she can't brainwash without a piece of the mirror. It doesn't make sense to use power through the mirror made by the wizards. It's the opposite in fact; the mirror restrains her power. Otherwise she would crush the human brain because she can't control her power. She then tells him he better tell her were the piece is before she crushes his brain and reaches out and digs her nails into his head. She screams and steps back with her hand burning. Vinter shows her the ring on his hand. Even if he can't use ancient magic there are still powerful artifacts left behind by the ancient wizards. He tells her to give up. Even if she destroys the artifact and brainwashes him he designed his conscious to disappear. He then tells her it's not too late and asks her not to make him hurt her with his own hands. He says he didn't think how she pitied people with hard lives was completely false and tried to persuade her with desperate eyes and with a last bit of hope that the memories he had of her angelic self were all fake. Yvonne laughs at him. She tells him she did it in the past and thought it would be easier this time around but now things are going to be fun. He who loved her more than anyone else is now the one who blocks her path. He frowns as he doesn't understand what she means. While he sympathized with her, he never loved her. She asks him whether he doesn't remember. He who threw away all his beliefs and duties as a wizard in his love for her and promised her magic until she died suddenly bit back and turned back time the moment she had the world in her hands. Vinter says he doesn't know what she means as they begin circling each other. She tells him that this time she decided to make her net tighter - especially on him so he wouldn't notice anything. But she wonders what Penelope did to make everyone escape from her grasp. Vinter stops her from insulting Penelope and tells her she will regret coming here today. The light in his cane grows bigger. She asks him why he doesn't just give her the piece and then he tells her even if it's death, he won't do it. She begins to mutter something and Vinter realizes she's summoning something. Vinter tries to attack but Raon jumps out of her magic circle and blocks Yvonne. Vinter quickly directs his attack to the wall beside her instead, just missing them. Yvonne laughs at his painful face telling Vinter that she said it would be tight (her net). Raon was an extraordinary child but his eyes are blurry behind his lion mask. She reveals that on the day they kidnapped the children she had brainwashed Raon. Raon was not yet an adult so it was easy to quickly brainwash him. She orders Raon to get the mirror. Vinter tries to cast a stun spell but Yvonne stops him telling him that she went through Raon's memories and found the location of the safe house where Emily and the other children are. She tells him to lower his cane or she'll harm them. It's the piece or the children. He slowly lowers his cane and she mutters another spell. Black haze rises from the floor and binds him forcing him to the ground. She warns him not to move or he'll be amputated. Raon easily finds the hidden door and comes back with the purple rose with the mirror hidden in its roots. She comments that he had given her a pink rose. She takes the piece and throws the rose on the floor in front of Vinter like garbage. She summons a flying monster and orders Raon to go to the safe house. Vinter swears begging Raon to stop and struggles against his restraints and groans as the pain becomes immense. Raon flies away on the monster leaving Vinter in despair. He asks her why she's doing this when she's already gotten the piece. She tells him it's fun and holds his chin and tells him his nice face is distorted by guilt. He calls her crazy and she agrees she might be. She had been the only Leyla to survive the genocide and finally just as she was about to complete her revenge she was returned to the past. She tells him it would be fun to see his face go crazy as he helplessly watches as she destroys the world he had been trying to save. He warns her she'll regret it with eerie eyes. Its a version of him she never seen in the past. She wonders whether she is really doing this to avenge her people or is it hatred towards the men who no longer love her. She tells him to watch as his beloved Penelope dies by her hands. As she gets ready to leave Vinter mutters Penelope's fire spell and the room explodes. But despite the explosion the surrounding remains the same as nobody can see or hear the explosion. Yvonne crawls out of the wreckage with her face melted and her exposed flesh is burnt black with exposed bone. She turns her gaze away from her mangled body thinking that it wasn't long ago that she had devoured the two servants to sustain her body. It's not good to kill right away but she needs to eat. Then she notices the wizard the duke had tailing her and calls the Duke a sly fox. As he tries to step away and flee she uses her brainwashing to get him to come closer saying she's his god now.

6. It's close to midnight when Yvonne arrives back at the estate. The duke is waiting for her at the door. The knights who were hiding appear as the duke raises his hand. Derek is at his side staring at her with cold eyes. The duke asks her where she's been until now. She tries to lie and say she got back earlier and went for a walk in the forest and fell asleep there. He tells her she's lying as he watched the empty carriage return. She tells him the carriage left her first and she took a wagon to the back door and the duke comments that the horseman was talking gibberish like a crazy person as if he was under some kind of magic. She thinks he's a sly fox who even checked with wizards and clenches her fist behind her back. When the duke asks why she didn't tell him she says she didn't know and she thought he would send her away so she pretended she didn't know and began to cry. Derick tries to interrupt asking for them to do it in the morning as it's late and she came back safely. The duke continues and ask why she went to the top street. She tries to deny that she knows where that is. He then said there had been a testimony that Becky also went there before Penelope's coming of age ceremony. Derick tries to stop him but the Duke tells him to shut his mouth. They had interrogated the head maid whilst Yvonne was out. She had been left out of the original investigation as she had worked loyally in the house for so many years but when confronted today she admitted the maid had went to top street to buy something for Yvonne. The duke thought back to Vinter's words about why would Penelope ignore her loyal maid and would use Yvonne's maid to buy poison. It didn't make sense. Why did the maid suddenly commit suicide and why did Emily disappear after Penelope ran away. He then asks Yvonne did she order the head maid to prepare the poisoned cup as she could participate in the ceremony. Derek asks if this is true. Reynald (who is still drunk fyi) says in wonder that so Penelope wasn't doing a self play and that Yvonne was trying to poison her? But then he remembers he found an antidote and that the cups had been changed. Then realization hits him that it was meant to be Yvonne's self play. He remembers Yvonne crying with a dead face when Penelope fell but to think it was all an act. Derick tells not to jump to any conclusions yet and asks her again is it true. She tries to deny it and says she doesn't know where top street is. The Duke calls the butler who tells them that the wizard who was reporting every 30 mins had seen Yvonne go into top street and the reports were lost after a monster appeared. The duke tells her he has one last question and asks why she has no reflection in water. When you have the status of the Duke you come across ancient secrets in the imperial palace and find ancient documents describing bizarre beings. Reynold and Derick narrow their eyes asking what he's talking about.

7. Yvonne's sobbing gradually turns into laughter. She tells him he should have pretended he didn't notice and he would have been able to keep his life a little longer. She mutters a spell and the ground trembles violently. A giant preying mantis appears from the ground. Reynold says he's less drunk now but is that a monster to the butler. A scream rings out and more monsters appear from the ground. Reynold asks the duke what is she as he draws his sword. The duke orders the knights to kill the monsters and seize Yvonne and then tells the butler to send a message to the imperial palace immediately and evacuate the estate. He is cut off as a shadow hits his head and sends his flying and Leonard yells at Derick asking him what he's doing and protect their father. Derek is frozen as Yvonne's voice rings in his head asking him to see the festival and saying she missed him. Derek calls her name and stretches out his hand and moves forward. He can't hear Reynald's calls or curses. He's stuck remembering her disappearing in the crowd of people in the parade. Yvonne calls him brother and he opens his eyes to her adult self. She tells him to be her hostage until the end of the hunt. He's woken up to the situation. He looks around to see a monster swinging its scythe-like arms and the screams of the knights and Reynold. He sees his father with a monster approaching from behind as the butler is trying to support him. He grabs his knife and tries to run to help but can't move - there is a black haze holding him down. He screams desperately out to his father as the monster raises its arm to take down the duke. As it cuts through the air, someone calls out a spell and a mass of light hits the monster.

Then she notices the wizard the duke had tailing her and calls the Duke a sly fox. As he tries to step away and flee she uses her brainwashing to get him to come closer saying she's his god now.

She thinks he's a sly fox who even checked with wizards and clenches her fist behind her back. When the duke asks why she didn't tell him she says she didn't know and she thought he would send her away so she pretended she didn't know and began to cry. Derick tries to interrupt asking for them to do it in the morning as it's late and she came back safely. The duke continues and ask why she went to the top street. She tries to deny that she knows where that is. He then said there had been a testimony that Becky also went there before Penelope's coming of age ceremony. Derick tries to stop him but the Duke tells him to shut his mouth. They had interrogated the head maid whilst Yvonne was out. She had been left out of the original investigation as she had worked loyally in the house for so many years but when confronted today she admitted the maid had went to top street to buy something for Yvonne. The duke thought back to Vinter's words about why would Penelope ignore her loyal maid and would use Yvonne's maid to buy poison. It didn't make sense. Why did the maid suddenly commit suicide and why did Emily disappear after Penelope ran away. He then asks Yvonne did she order the head maid to prepare the poisoned cup as she could participate in the ceremony. Derek asks if this is true. Reynald (who is still drunk fyi) says in wonder that so Penelope wasn't doing a self play and that Yvonne was trying to poison her? He is cut off as a shadow hits his head and sends his flying and Leonard yells at Derick asking him what he's doing and protect their father. Derek is frozen as Yvonne's voice rings in his head asking him to see the festival and saying she missed him. Derek calls her name and stretches out his hand and moves forward. He can't hear Reynald's calls or curses. He's stuck remembering her disappearing in the crowd of people in the parade. Yvonne calls him brother and he opens his eyes to her adult self. She tells him to be her hostage until the end of the hunt. He's woken up to the situation. He looks around to see a monster swinging its scythe-like arms and the screams of the knights and Reynold. He sees his father with a monster approaching from behind as the butler is trying to support him. He grabs his knife and tries to run to help but can't move - there is a black haze holding him down. He screams desperately out to his father as the monster raises its arm to take down the duke. As it cuts through the air, someone calls out a spell and a mass of light hits the monster.

I had a bit of a grudge towards Vinter because of his underdying hope/belief that Yvonne is a good person despite the danger signs but seeing him go this way was so sad... Despite his faults there were still parts of him that were quite likeable. It’s the most upsetting that he wasn’t able to protect the children. He wanted more than anything for the children to be safe. The final confrontation and his fate is just so upsetting.

I’m honestly starting to think Reynold would probably make a better future duke than Derrick even while drunk... Ohh but I must clap and celebrate since Derrick has finally broken out of the spell. Good job buddy... Better late than never right?

Just for clarification... Does Yvonne just fake cry with a really cold/blank expression? Is that what it is?

After Penelope left, Reynold drank every day and sometimes in the night he woke the servants because he cried so hard. There is a rumor among the employees that he was suffering a broken heart. It seemed to happen after Penelope left. The duke then asked about Derek. The butler hesitates and tells him that Derek hasn't returned since last night. They received a message telling them that he was in a village outside the capital because there were reports of witnessing Penelope there. The duke wished he'd drink like Reynold. At a certain point, Derek's clear eyes had become bizarre and he lost his enthusiasm and reason. After Penelope disappearance he completely changed and went crazy. The duke couldn't control him and Derek would lead the knights out on fictional day to find Penelope. The duke sighed at the constant news about Derek. He then asks about Yvonne. She has not eaten properly for several days because of the bruising. Emily claimed to be the culprit but then disappeared from prison. As all the suspects were missing, the case was buried and all that was left was a rumor about the fake princess beating the real princess.

Yvonne pours them tea and he tells her that she's welcome in this household. But also asks her not to blame Penelope. He thinks it's his fault Penelope is crooked but says she doesn't have a bad heart so he hopes Yvonne understands. Yvonne cries blaming herself for what happened and asks has Penelope been found. The duke tells her not to worry as she can take care of herself. The duke notices that despite the tears in her eyes, her face is expressionless like a doll and feels spooked. His memories of the luncheon are hazy and he can't remember her face when she told him to be careful of Yvonne. His head is spinning and he's scared and hesitates. Yvonne continues talking about Paul and Leah snapping the duke's thoughts back to the present and he asks what she is talking about. She asks if there's something in his tea as he keeps staring at the mug but the duke tells her he has just realized he forgot something, clenching his fist under the table. The butler tells him that Reynold is still asleep after coming home in the early hours drunk. After Penelope left, Reynold drank every day and sometimes in the night he woke the servants because he cried so hard. There is a rumor among the employees that he was suffering a broken heart. It seemed to happen after Penelope left. The duke then asked about Derek. The butler hesitates and tells him that Derek hasn't returned since last night. They received a message telling them that he was in a village outside the capital because there were reports of witnessing Penelope there. The duke wished he'd drink like Reynold. At a certain point, Derek's clear eyes had become bizarre and he lost his enthusiasm and reason. After Penelope disappearance he completely changed and went crazy. The duke couldn't control him and Derek would lead the knights out on fictional day to find Penelope. The duke sighed at the constant news about Derek. He then asks about Yvonne. She has not eaten properly for several days because of the bruising. Emily claimed to be the culprit but then disappeared from prison. As all the suspects were missing, the case was buried and all that was left was a rumor about the fake princess beating the real princess.

2.The duke decides to visit her. After her return to the mansion he never visited her once and after all that happened with Penelope he ended up neglecting her. The duke had put her into a guest room on the 1st floor and rejected her request to visit her old room on the 3rd floor because he was worried about her coming into contact with Penelope on the second floor. The duke arrives at her room and asks if she's okay. He received reports that she was too sick to eat but when he looks at her she looks perfectly healthy. She calls for refreshment. After Penelope's coming of age ceremony the duke had distanced himself from Yvonne out of guilt towards Penelope. He thinks he is a terrible father with no idea how to treat his younger daughters. Yvonne pours them tea and he tells her that she's welcome in this household. But also asks her not to blame Penelope. He thinks it's his fault Penelope is crooked but says she doesn't have a bad heart so he hopes Yvonne understands. Yvonne cries blaming herself for what happened and asks has Penelope been found. The duke tells her not to worry as she can take care of herself. The duke notices that despite the tears in her eyes, her face is expressionless like a doll and feels spooked. The duke tries to change the subject and asks if there is anything she wants as she must be uncomfortable stuck in her room. The head maid is out on sick pay and one of the missing employees is Yvonne's new maid, Leah. Yvonne is shocked that she ran away but hopes she will be happy with Paul. The duke is friendly to her but wonders whether he mentioned that she had ran away with the stable boy. He can't see any falsehood in her eyes and thinks that this nerves are sharp because of Derek. As he looks down at the tea he notices there is no reflection in Yvonne's cup. He looks at his own tea as sees his reflection and recalls Penelope's warning to look at her tea cup when he's with her. The duke holds in a groan and quickly tries to remember his last conversation with Penelope. He remembers that they had a luncheon together and she wanted to go on an outing. He had told her he would help her even if she ran away. He thinks that if she was a person there should be a reflection and wonders who the child is in front of him. Yvonne had passed all the tests with her appearance being the same and the memories she had could only be known if you were the person. If it wasn't for Penelope, he would have immediately announced Yvonne's return. He wonders when Penelope noticed it. His memories of the luncheon are hazy and he can't remember her face when she told him to be careful of Yvonne. His head is spinning and he's scared and hesitates. Yvonne continues talking about Paul and Leah snapping the duke's thoughts back to the present and he asks what she is talking about. She asks if there's something in his tea as he keeps staring at the mug but the duke tells her he has just realized he forgot something, clenching his fist under the table. As he tries to leave Yvonne stops him saying she remembers what she wants - she wants to go out. She claims to be worried about the orphans she used to look after in her village.The duke says he'll give her an escort as its dangerous outside but she refuses saying she's lived outside for most of her life so she'll be fine. The duke says he'll give her the carriage but she must be back before sundown.

3. When the dune returns to his office, the butler asks if he had a good conversation with Yvonne. The duke orders him have a wizard with tracking magic tail her. He also orders that the 1st division of knights and all their wizards must gather behind the manor and to call back Derek immediately. They have an emergency.

4. Vinter arrives in the alley. His body feels broken from his constant travels. He has been scouring the country for ancient texts he can decipher. Only ancient magic works on the Leyla and the ancient wizards are gone and their magic lost so the only way to confront the Leyla was to recreate the mirror of truth. So in order to do this, his has been searching for ancient documents and material. As he reaches the top of the stairs he sees the door to his shop in unlocked. The door has magic on it that will only open for designated clients to prevent situations of them arriving and leaving whilst he was away. For example, like a woman who left silently after receiving a purple flower... As Vinter enters he turns sharply and asks who it is. Yvonne emerges saying he's here now. She's here to make a request or rather to find a missing item and then identifies him as the Marquis of Verdandi. A horrifying silence fills the room. Vinter steps inside blocking the outside from danger, as a silent battlefield begins. He asks how she got in here but she innocently says the door was open and requests him to return her item. Vinter tries to deny knowing what she's talking about and asks her to come back tomorrow as it's too late. She asks how much must he disappoint her. He seen how much she suffered in that town and despite knowing she was the duke's lost daughter, he still left her alone. Vinter remembers his sin of turning away. For Penelope, who would be sad if Yvonne returned, he didn't say anything. Yvonne continues to tell him how she nearly died when the monsters attacked and the cut on her forehead hurt so bad. But what really hurt the most was how the Marquis distanced himself from her. She asks why he hasn't come to do volunteer work since. Vinter remembers that after they returned from Soleil and he took Penelope home, purple roses bloomed in his unconscious space. Without knowing the reason for why the flowers bloomed, he only watched Yvonne from afar and never met her again. Yvonne says she recognized him right away at Penelope's coming of age ceremony but he accused her of being a killer.. she wonders aloud how he can be so cruel and begins to cry. Vinter closes his eyes remembering there was a time he used to want to listen to whatever she said when he saw her blue eyes full of tears. But at some point it was replaced with dry turquoise eyes. Eyes that were resigned to the knowledge that no one would believe them (i.e. Penelope). Vinter opened his eyes and replied coldly that it was probably not monsters that hurt her but the magic of Penelope that day on Soleil. He points out the monster who supposedly attacked her normally leaves large legions with lots of bleeding but she was only a bit bruised with a cut on her forehead. As if she was hurt by something falling. That day on Soleil island, Penelope's wide area attack caused the cave to collapse so it was due to the fallen rubble. After this he began to investigate Yvonne because she was attacked by monsters in a village far away from the village she originally lived. Whats more, it was right after what happened in Soleil. He then continues and tells Yvonne the maid Becky's soul had already confirmed that it was Yvonne who ordered her to get the poison for her own plot. After the conversation with Penelope at the duke's estate, Vinter spent a lot of energy summoning the soul of Becky. He wonders why he couldn't believe her. He wanted to immediately tell the duke and clear Penelope's name. But he couldn't.., there were some summonings which were taboo in the empire and Penelope had made up her mind. She had a face that looked like she would die if she didn't leave the duke's state immediately. He then asks Yvonne is she has anything else to say. Yvonne steps forward and her face is revealed. It's creepy - with half of her face crying and the other half fine.

5. She tells Vinter to return her piece and he tells her he doesn't know what she's looking for and he doesn't have it. Yvonne remarks that their reactions are the same. She tells him Penelope said the same thing and ran away before she ate her. Vinter remembers Penelope telling him she was brainwashed and barely managed to run away. (Okay this next bit I'm not 100% sure but I think she implies that she knew Penelope came here after running away from the house because this is where Derick found her). She tells him to stop it and give her a piece. When he denies having it she takes out another piece of the mirror and and says she'll use this. He tells her it's useless because he's released from her brainwashing. He no longer feels sorry for her or misses her and only feels aversion and disgust for her. She agrees and puts the piece back into her pocket. She then takes a step towards him and he becomes nervous reaching for his cane. She tells him there's one thing the wizards have been mistaken about for hundreds of years. She tells him that she can't brainwash without a piece of the mirror. It doesn't make sense to use power through the mirror made by the wizards. It's the opposite in fact; the mirror restrains her power. Otherwise she would crush the human brain because she can't control her power. She then tells him he better tell her were the piece is before she crushes his brain and reaches out and digs her nails into his head. She screams and steps back with her hand burning. Vinter shows her the ring on his hand. Even if he can't use ancient magic there are still powerful artifacts left behind by the ancient wizards. He tells her to give up. Even if she destroys the artifact and brainwashes him he designed his conscious to disappear. He then tells her it's not too late and asks her not to make him hurt her with his own hands. He says he didn't think how she pitied people with hard lives was completely false and tried to persuade her with desperate eyes and with a last bit of hope that the memories he had of her angelic self were all fake. Yvonne laughs at him. She tells him she did it in the past and thought it would be easier this time around but now things are going to be fun. He who loved her more than anyone else is now the one who blocks her path. He frowns as he doesn't understand what she means. While he sympathized with her, he never loved her. She asks him whether he doesn't remember. He who threw away all his beliefs and duties as a wizard in his love for her and promised her magic until she died suddenly bit back and turned back time the moment she had the world in her hands. Vinter says he doesn't know what she means as they begin circling each other. She tells him that this time she decided to make her net tighter - especially on him so he wouldn't notice anything. But she wonders what Penelope did to make everyone escape from her grasp. Vinter stops her from insulting Penelope and tells her she will regret coming here today. The light in his cane grows bigger. She asks him why he doesn't just give her the piece and then he tells her even if it's death, he won't do it. She begins to mutter something and Vinter realizes she's summoning something. Vinter tries to attack but Raon jumps out of her magic circle and blocks Yvonne. Vinter quickly directs his attack to the wall beside her instead, just missing them. Yvonne laughs at his painful face telling Vinter that she said it would be tight (her net). Raon was an extraordinary child but his eyes are blurry behind his lion mask. She reveals that on the day they kidnapped the children she had brainwashed Raon. Raon was not yet an adult so it was easy to quickly brainwash him. She orders Raon to get the mirror. Vinter tries to cast a stun spell but Yvonne stops him telling him that she went through Raon's memories and found the location of the safe house where Emily and the other children are. She tells him to lower his cane or she'll harm them. It's the piece or the children. He slowly lowers his cane and she mutters another spell. Black haze rises from the floor and binds him forcing him to the ground. She warns him not to move or he'll be amputated. Raon easily finds the hidden door and comes back with the purple rose with the mirror hidden in its roots. She comments that he had given her a pink rose. She takes the piece and throws the rose on the floor in front of Vinter like garbage. She summons a flying monster and orders Raon to go to the safe house. Vinter swears begging Raon to stop and struggles against his restraints and groans as the pain becomes immense. Raon flies away on the monster leaving Vinter in despair. He asks her why she's doing this when she's already gotten the piece. She tells him it's fun and holds his chin and tells him his nice face is distorted by guilt. He calls her crazy and she agrees she might be. She had been the only Leyla to survive the genocide and finally just as she was about to complete her revenge she was returned to the past. She tells him it would be fun to see his face go crazy as he helplessly watches as she destroys the world he had been trying to save. He warns her she'll regret it with eerie eyes. Its a version of him she never seen in the past. She wonders whether she is really doing this to avenge her people or is it hatred towards the men who no longer love her. She tells him to watch as his beloved Penelope dies by her hands. As she gets ready to leave Vinter mutters Penelope's fire spell and the room explodes. But despite the explosion the surrounding remains the same as nobody can see or hear the explosion. Yvonne crawls out of the wreckage with her face melted and her exposed flesh is burnt black with exposed bone. She turns her gaze away from her mangled body thinking that it wasn't long ago that she had devoured the two servants to sustain her body. It's not good to kill right away but she needs to eat. Then she notices the wizard the duke had tailing her and calls the Duke a sly fox. As he tries to step away and flee she uses her brainwashing to get him to come closer saying she's his god now.

6. It's close to midnight when Yvonne arrives back at the estate. The duke is waiting for her at the door. The knights who were hiding appear as the duke raises his hand. Derek is at his side staring at her with cold eyes. The duke asks her where she's been until now. She tries to lie and say she got back earlier and went for a walk in the forest and fell asleep there. He tells her she's lying as he watched the empty carriage return. She tells him the carriage left her first and she took a wagon to the back door and the duke comments that the horseman was talking gibberish like a crazy person as if he was under some kind of magic. She thinks he's a sly fox who even checked with wizards and clenches her fist behind her back. When the duke asks why she didn't tell him she says she didn't know and she thought he would send her away so she pretended she didn't know and began to cry. Derick tries to interrupt asking for them to do it in the morning as it's late and she came back safely. The duke continues and ask why she went to the top street. She tries to deny that she knows where that is. He then said there had been a testimony that Becky also went there before Penelope's coming of age ceremony. Derick tries to stop him but the Duke tells him to shut his mouth. They had interrogated the head maid whilst Yvonne was out. She had been left out of the original investigation as she had worked loyally in the house for so many years but when confronted today she admitted the maid had went to top street to buy something for Yvonne. The duke thought back to Vinter's words about why would Penelope ignore her loyal maid and would use Yvonne's maid to buy poison. It didn't make sense. Why did the maid suddenly commit suicide and why did Emily disappear after Penelope ran away. He then asks Yvonne did she order the head maid to prepare the poisoned cup as she could participate in the ceremony. Derek asks if this is true. Reynald (who is still drunk fyi) says in wonder that so Penelope wasn't doing a self play and that Yvonne was trying to poison her? But then he remembers he found an antidote and that the cups had been changed. Then realization hits him that it was meant to be Yvonne's self play. He remembers Yvonne crying with a dead face when Penelope fell but to think it was all an act. Derick tells not to jump to any conclusions yet and asks her again is it true. She tries to deny it and says she doesn't know where top street is. The Duke calls the butler who tells them that the wizard who was reporting every 30 mins had seen Yvonne go into top street and the reports were lost after a monster appeared. The duke tells her he has one last question and asks why she has no reflection in water. When you have the status of the Duke you come across ancient secrets in the imperial palace and find ancient documents describing bizarre beings. Reynold and Derick narrow their eyes asking what he's talking about.

7. Yvonne's sobbing gradually turns into laughter. She tells him he should have pretended he didn't notice and he would have been able to keep his life a little longer. She mutters a spell and the ground trembles violently. A giant preying mantis appears from the ground. Reynold says he's less drunk now but is that a monster to the butler. A scream rings out and more monsters appear from the ground. Reynold asks the duke what is she as he draws his sword. The duke orders the knights to kill the monsters and seize Yvonne and then tells the butler to send a message to the imperial palace immediately and evacuate the estate. He is cut off as a shadow hits his head and sends his flying and Leonard yells at Derick asking him what he's doing and protect their father. Derek is frozen as Yvonne's voice rings in his head asking him to see the festival and saying she missed him. Derek calls her name and stretches out his hand and moves forward. Yvonne and Vinter's confrontation is so GOOD. I really liked it! Their relationship is really interesting, and I wonder if Vinter will ever find out he was the one who reverse the time. I also really like Yvonne as an antagonist, she is sly, wicked and evil, and is really smart using her knowledge to obtain what she wants (and is also a good actress). I feel like she is tired as well of doing everything all over again all the time, thus she decide to go to Vinter firstly, the one who prevented her to conquer the world.ot
As for Derrick and Reynold... Wel, Reynold drunk made me laugh lot while Derrick... don't get me wrong, I pity him for what happened with the real Yvonne... He was just a kid, and losing his sister devasteted him, I know... Still, a part of me (the sadistic part, probably) couldn't help but think "yeah, this is what you gain for what you've done". I swear, usually I'm not so evil, but it was pretty satisfying seeing Derrick suffers. Am I becoming the evil one?

Thanks for the spoilers! Vinter vs. Yvonne confrontation for me wasn't as disappointing (But I have to agree on the small dusappointment he never considered the Layla cultists would brainwash the kids. Sure, he's partially in denial but at the same time, he's level of prepared counterattack was weak, if he wanted to negotiate with Yvonne and would still have a smidge of hope that what he knows was a bit real, fine he can have that but if he also was presented with proof that justifies his suspicions, the he at least had to make sure Yvonne shouldn't have been near to those kids. Am I being a bit harsh here?). At least he made it clear that he's siding with Penelope, 80-90% but its still hard for him to accept the woman he's known for so long is actually some great evil (again, its probably just my Vinter bias, but I can never hate him, the same case but on a lower level with tsundere Reynold/Reynalt. On his case, the only reason the guilt is resurfacing is partially because he never got to see OGPenelope's POV and the harsh life of being poor but I will say this, his growth is my 2nd favorite after Callisto when it comes to the capture targets).

Ah, Derrick's mistake will forever haunt him. This DOES make him look pitiful though so not a lot of bad words for me this time since his father was the one who told him to shut up this time. That was satisfying. Also, really proud of Reynalt/Reynold (sometimes, I oddly prefer the former way of spelling his name, but the latter is mostly used in the forums that I sometime just go along with it), even when drunk, he was able to deduce the truth on his own with the poison incident. Again, I'm so proud of him. Sure, I still have some level of issues with him (again, if Penelope's whole demeanor didn't change or she had to show disdain to him for him to realize he f*cked up. Lovely for character development but I feel like somethings lacking)

Yeah, Vinter is a complicated character. I partially blame him for the fact that he still has a tiny trust left for Yvonne, regardless of Penny advising him she's not what he think she is, but I can't hate him. I guess Yvonne was the first one Vinter trusted completely in his entire life. As we know, Vinter has trusting issues due to being a magician, so meeting Yvonne for him must have been something like "now I can finally relax, when I'm with her I don't have to be constantly wary of danger". This must have been partially because of Yvonne act as a innocent lady and partially because of her brainwashing. In some way, she is the perfect opposite of Penelope (MC). Penelope is direct, not innocent, cold, not to mention the gossips about her. It's likely Vinter couldn't completly trust Penny because of these things. And his affection towards Yvonne also maybe brought him to underestimate her.

I think the Yvonne Vinter knew was the real one instead of the Layla as her plan could have gone better if she was younger, so the kind Yvonne he knew was most likely the real one. Since he probably seen her reflection a few times it made it less suspicious as the Layla said she can't stay long in her host body. Or so I think.

I dunno. I really want to see more of the side chapters simply because I want to see how Penelope would act as Queen and I want to see more perspective of the other characters after the epilogue.

Btw guys did u guys notice? Why do Yvonne didn't realize Vinter was the wizard? Since he was able to perform such magic with high level of mana to her but she didn't even doubt it all this time? Like when she (pretend to be) sad, he used to comfort her by magic all the time in the game tho? (but basically Pennie killed him indirectly by telling Yvonne his real identity, girl why did you-?? I knew she was brainwashed but the author really like killing her own son)

I think most of us could agree to read this to see the Eckart's suffering lol

I think it is not because she didn't know that Vinter was a wizard; but because Vinter was one of the friendliest to her and in her grasp that it is surprising for him to betray her.
Penelope knowing that Vinter is a wizard shows that Vinter had helped her or cheered her like he did to Yvonne before, thus it meant he revealed it to Penelope himself as it is a guarded secret.. so it meant Vinter is friendly to Penelope and it must have been him who actually turned back time for her... Maybe? Everyone is so prejudiced towards Penelope so she is seaching for someone that is a wizard and friendly enough to Penelope that he can turn time back for her.

I think Yvonne knew Vinter was a wizard but never recognized him as the wizard in the rabbit mask. When she and Penelope had their confrontation in the bedroom she asked about the wizard who was with her on Soleil. At that time, Vinter was wearing the rabbit mask so when Penelope identified him as Vinter to Yvonne she was amazed because she didn't know they were the same person.

The duke arrives at her room and asks if she's okay. He received reports that she was too sick to eat but when he looks at her she looks perfectly healthy. She calls for refreshment. After Penelope's coming of age ceremony the duke had distanced himself from Yvonne out of guilt towards Penelope. He thinks he is a terrible father with no idea how to treat his younger daughters. Yvonne pours them tea and he tells her that she's welcome in this household. But also asks her not to blame Penelope. He thinks it's his fault Penelope is crooked but says she doesn't have a bad heart so he hopes Yvonne understands. Yvonne cries blaming herself for what happened and asks has Penelope been found. The duke tells her not to worry as she can take care of herself. The duke notices that despite the tears in her eyes, her face is expressionless like a doll and feels spooked. The duke tries to change the subject and asks if there is anything she wants as she must be uncomfortable stuck in her room. The head maid is out on sick pay and one of the missing employees is Yvonne's new maid, Leah. Yvonne is shocked that she ran away but hopes she will be happy with Paul. The duke is friendly to her but wonders whether he mentioned that she had ran away with the stable boy. He can't see any falsehood in her eyes and thinks that this nerves are sharp because of Derek. As he looks down at the tea he notices there is no reflection in Yvonne's cup. He looks at his own tea as sees his reflection and recalls Penelope's warning to look at her tea cup when he's with her. The duke holds in a groan and quickly tries to remember his last conversation with Penelope. He remembers that they had a luncheon together and she wanted to go on an outing. He had told her he would help her even if she ran away. He thinks that if she was a person there should be a reflection and wonders who the child is in front of him. Yvonne had passed all the tests with her appearance being the same and the memories she had could only be known if you were the person. If it wasn't for Penelope, he would have immediately announced Yvonne's return. He wonders when Penelope noticed it. His memories of the luncheon are hazy and he can't remember her face when she told him to be careful of Yvonne. His head is spinning and he's scared and hesitates. Yvonne continues talking about Paul and Leah snapping the duke's thoughts back to the present and he asks what she is talking about. She asks if there's something in his tea as he keeps staring at the mug but the duke tells her he has just realized he forgot something, clenching his fist under the table. As he tries to leave Yvonne stops him saying she remembers what she wants - she wants to go out. She claims to be worried about the orphans she used to look after in her village.The duke says he'll give her an escort as its dangerous outside but she refuses saying she's lived outside for most of her life so she'll be fine. The duke says he'll give her the carriage but she must be back before sundown.

3. When the dune returns to his office, the butler asks if he had a good conversation with Yvonne. The duke orders him have a wizard with tracking magic tail her. He also orders that the 1st division of knights and all their wizards must gather behind the manor and to call back Derek immediately. They have an emergency.

4. Vinter arrives in the alley. His body feels broken from his constant travels. He has been scouring the country for ancient texts he can decipher. Only ancient magic works on the Leyla and the ancient wizards are gone and their magic lost so the only way to confront the Leyla was to recreate the mirror of truth. So in order to do this, his has been searching for ancient documents and material. As he reaches the top of the stairs he sees the door to his shop in unlocked. The door has magic on it that will only open for designated clients to prevent situations of them arriving and leaving whilst he was away. For example, like a woman who left silently after receiving a purple flower... As Vinter enters he turns sharply and asks who it is. Yvonne emerges saying he's here now. She's here to make a request or rather to find a missing item and then identifies him as the Marquis of Verdandi. A horrifying silence fills the room. Vinter steps inside blocking the outside from danger, as a silent battlefield begins. He asks how she got in here but she innocently says the door was open and requests him to return her item. Vinter tries to deny knowing what she's talking about and asks her to come back tomorrow as it's too late. She asks how much must he disappoint her. He seen how much she suffered in that town and despite knowing she was the duke's lost daughter, he still left her alone. Vinter remembers his sin of turning away. For Penelope, who would be sad if Yvonne returned, he didn't say anything. Yvonne continues to tell him how she nearly died when the monsters attacked and the cut on her forehead hurt so bad. But what really hurt the most was how the Marquis distanced himself from her. She asks why he hasn't come to do volunteer work since. Vinter remembers that after they returned from Soleil and he took Penelope home, purple roses bloomed in his unconscious space. Without knowing the reason for why the flowers bloomed, he only watched Yvonne from afar and never met her again. Yvonne says she recognized him right away at Penelope's coming of age ceremony but he accused her of being a killer.. she wonders aloud how he can be so cruel and begins to cry. Vinter closes his eyes remembering there was a time he used to want to listen to whatever she said when he saw her blue eyes full of tears. But at some point it was replaced with dry turquoise eyes. Eyes that were resigned to the knowledge that no one would believe them (i.e. Penelope). Vinter opened his eyes and replied coldly that it was probably not monsters that hurt her but the magic of Penelope that day on Soleil. He points out the monster who supposedly attacked her normally leaves large legions with lots of bleeding but she was only a bit bruised with a cut on her forehead. As if she was hurt by something falling. That day on Soleil island, Penelope's wide area attack caused the cave to collapse so it was due to the fallen rubble. After this he began to investigate Yvonne because she was attacked by monsters in a village far away from the village she originally lived. Whats more, it was right after what happened in Soleil. He then continues and tells Yvonne the maid Becky's soul had already confirmed that it was Yvonne who ordered her to get the poison for her own plot. After the conversation with Penelope at the duke's estate, Vinter spent a lot of energy summoning the soul of Becky. He wonders why he couldn't believe her. He wanted to immediately tell the duke and clear Penelope's name. But he couldn't.., there were some summonings which were taboo in the empire and Penelope had made up her mind. She had a face that looked like she would die if she didn't leave the duke's state immediately. He then asks Yvonne is she has anything else to say. Yvonne steps forward and her face is revealed. It's creepy - with half of her face crying and the other half fine.

5. She tells Vinter to return her piece and he tells her he doesn't know what she's looking for and he doesn't have it. Yvonne remarks that their reactions are the same. She tells him Penelope said the same thing and ran away before she ate her. Vinter remembers Penelope telling him she was brainwashed and barely managed to run away. (Okay this next bit I'm not 100% sure but I think she implies that she knew Penelope came here after running away from the house because this is where Derick found her). She tells him to stop it and give her a piece. When he denies having it she takes out another piece of the mirror and and says she'll use this. He tells her it's useless because he's released from her brainwashing. He no longer feels sorry for her or misses her and only feels aversion and disgust for her. She agrees and puts the piece back into her pocket. She then takes a step towards him and he becomes nervous reaching for his cane. She tells him there's one thing the wizards have been mistaken about for hundreds of years. She tells him that she can't brainwash without a piece of the mirror. It doesn't make sense to use power through the mirror made by the wizards. It's the opposite in fact; the mirror restrains her power. Otherwise she would crush the human brain because she can't control her power. She then tells him he better tell her were the piece is before she crushes his brain and reaches out and digs her nails into his head. She screams and steps back with her hand burning. Vinter shows her the ring on his hand. Even if he can't use ancient magic there are still powerful artifacts left behind by the ancient wizards. He tells her to give up. Even if she destroys the artifact and brainwashes him he designed his conscious to disappear. He then tells her it's not too late and asks her not to make him hurt her with his own hands. He says he didn't think how she pitied people with hard lives was completely false and tried to persuade her with desperate eyes and with a last bit of hope that the memories he had of her angelic self were all fake. Yvonne laughs at him. She tells him she did it in the past and thought it would be easier this time around but now things are going to be fun. He who loved her more than anyone else is now the one who blocks her path. He frowns as he doesn't understand what she means. While he sympathized with her, he never loved her. She asks him whether he doesn't remember. He who threw away all his beliefs and duties as a wizard in his love for her and promised her magic until she died suddenly bit back and turned back time the moment she had the world in her hands. Vinter says he doesn't know what she means as they begin circling each other. She tells him that this time she decided to make her net tighter - especially on him so he wouldn't notice anything. But she wonders what Penelope did to make everyone escape from her grasp. Vinter stops her from insulting Penelope and tells her she will regret coming here today. The light in his cane grows bigger. She asks him why he doesn't just give her the piece and then he tells her even if it's death, he won't do it. She begins to mutter something and Vinter realizes she's summoning something. Vinter tries to attack but Raon jumps out of her magic circle and blocks Yvonne. Vinter quickly directs his attack to the wall beside her instead, just missing them. Yvonne laughs at his painful face telling Vinter that she said it would be tight (her net). Raon was an extraordinary child but his eyes are blurry behind his lion mask. She reveals that on the day they kidnapped the children she had brainwashed Raon. Raon was not yet an adult so it was easy to quickly brainwash him. She orders Raon to get the mirror. Vinter tries to cast a stun spell but Yvonne stops him telling him that she went through Raon's memories and found the location of the safe house where Emily and the other children are. She tells him to lower his cane or she'll harm them. It's the piece or the children. He slowly lowers his cane and she mutters another spell. Black haze rises from the floor and binds him forcing him to the ground. She warns him not to move or he'll be amputated. Raon easily finds the hidden door and comes back with the purple rose with the mirror hidden in its roots. She comments that he had given her a pink rose. She takes the piece and throws the rose on the floor in front of Vinter like garbage. She summons a flying monster and orders Raon to go to the safe house. Vinter swears begging Raon to stop and struggles against his restraints and groans as the pain becomes immense. Raon flies away on the monster leaving Vinter in despair. He asks her why she's doing this when she's already gotten the piece. She tells him it's fun and holds his chin and tells him his nice face is distorted by guilt. He calls her crazy and she agrees she might be. She had been the only Leyla to survive the genocide and finally just as she was about to complete her revenge she was returned to the past. She tells him it would be fun to see his face go crazy as he helplessly watches as she destroys the world he had been trying to save. He warns her she'll regret it with eerie eyes. Its a version of him she never seen in the past. She wonders whether she is really doing this to avenge her people or is it hatred towards the men who no longer love her. She tells him to watch as his beloved Penelope dies by her hands. As she gets ready to leave Vinter mutters Penelope's fire spell and the room explodes. But despite the explosion the surrounding remains the same as nobody can see or hear the explosion. Yvonne crawls out of the wreckage with her face melted and her exposed flesh is burnt black with exposed bone. She turns her gaze away from her mangled body thinking that it wasn't long ago that she had devoured the two servants to sustain her body. It's not good to kill right away but she needs to eat. Then she notices the wizard the duke had tailing her and calls the Duke a sly fox. As he tries to step away and flee she uses her brainwashing to get him to come closer saying she's his god now.

6. It's close to midnight when Yvonne arrives back at the estate. The duke is waiting for her at the door. The knights who were hiding appear as the duke raises his hand. Derek is at his side staring at her with cold eyes. The duke asks her where she's been until now. She tries to lie and say she got back earlier and went for a walk in the forest and fell asleep there. He tells her she's lying as he watched the empty carriage return. She tells him the carriage left her first and she took a wagon to the back door and the duke comments that the horseman was talking gibberish like a crazy person as if he was under some kind of magic. She thinks he's a sly fox who even checked with wizards and clenches her fist behind her back. When the duke asks why she didn't tell him she says she didn't know and she thought he would send her away so she pretended she didn't know and began to cry. Derick tries to interrupt asking for them to do it in the morning as it's late and she came back safely. The duke continues and ask why she went to the top street. She tries to deny that she knows where that is. He then said there had been a testimony that Becky also went there before Penelope's coming of age ceremony. Derick tries to stop him but the Duke tells him to shut his mouth. They had interrogated the head maid whilst Yvonne was out. She had been left out of the original investigation as she had worked loyally in the house for so many years but when confronted today she admitted the maid had went to top street to buy something for Yvonne. The duke thought back to Vinter's words about why would Penelope ignore her loyal maid and would use Yvonne's maid to buy poison. It didn't make sense. Why did the maid suddenly commit suicide and why did Emily disappear after Penelope ran away. He then asks Yvonne did she order the head maid to prepare the poisoned cup as she could participate in the ceremony. Derek asks if this is true. Reynald (who is still drunk fyi) says in wonder that so Penelope wasn't doing a self play and that Yvonne was trying to poison her? But then he remembers he found an antidote and that the cups had been changed. Then realization hits him that it was meant to be Yvonne's self play. He remembers Yvonne crying with a dead face when Penelope fell but to think it was all an act. Derick tells not to jump to any conclusions yet and asks her again is it true. She tries to deny it and says she doesn't know where top street is. The Duke calls the butler who tells them that the wizard who was reporting every 30 mins had seen Yvonne go into top street and the reports were lost after a monster appeared. The duke tells her he has one last question and asks why she has no reflection in water. When you have the status of the Duke you come across ancient secrets in the imperial palace and find ancient documents describing bizarre beings. Reynold and Derick narrow their eyes asking what he's talking about.

7. Yvonne's sobbing gradually turns into laughter. She tells him he should have pretended he didn't notice and he would have been able to keep his life a little longer. She mutters a spell and the ground trembles violently. A giant preying mantis appears from the ground. Reynold says he's less drunk now but is that a monster to the butler. A scream rings out and more monsters appear from the ground. Reynold asks the duke what is she as he draws his sword. The duke orders the knights to kill the monsters and seize Yvonne and then tells the butler to send a message to the imperial palace immediately and evacuate the estate. He is cut off as a shadow hits his head and sends his flying and Leonard yells at Derick asking him what he's doing and protect their father. Derek is frozen as Yvonne's voice rings in his head asking him to see the festival and saying she missed him. Derek calls her name and stretches out his hand and moves forward. He can't hear Reynald's calls or curses. He's stuck remembering her disappearing in the crowd of people in the parade. Yvonne calls him brother and he opens his eyes to her adult self. She tells him to be her hostage until the end of the hunt. He's woken up to the situation. He looks around to see a monster swinging its scythe-like arms and the screams of the knights and Reynold. He sees his father with a monster approaching from behind as the butler is trying to support him. He grabs his knife and tries to run to help but can't move - there is a black haze holding him down. He screams desperately out to his father as the monster raises its arm to take down the duke. As it cuts through the air, someone calls out a spell and a mass of light hits the monster.

I feel like the manhwa didn't show Penelope's feelings well that moment when Eclise was having a killing spree. Compared to that scene in the novel, it's quite underwhelming.

1. Penelope and Callisto arrive at the north gate of the city late at night accompanied by 1 wizard and 6 escorts. Callisto tries to delay Penelope going to the Eckart estate until daylight but Penelope is insistent. He didn't like her idea of heading straight to the duke's and attacking Yvonne. Ever since she fainted after fighting Eclise and the monsters, the prince began to treat her like a feather that was about to blow away. When she first opened her eyes, Cedric looked exhausted. Callisto also refuses to go back to the north as no one would be there to take care of her if she faints again. She thinks that the systems warning about using the magic wasn't a exaggeration. After the spell ended, all the strength left her body and she slept for 3 days worrying Callisto. She doesn't know how many it'll take to defeat Yvonne and it's troubling if she faints every time. the wizards had given her a total of 5 health potions to use.

2. As they arrive at the estate, they realize there are no gatekeepers and the ground begins to vibrate and they hear cries in the distance. Penelope realizes that Yvonne has revealed her identity and Callisto tries to convince her to go to the imperial palace instead as there's likely more than one monster. She refuses saying she'll go herself and he tells her she's not going anywhere with that body. She tries to tell him she's fine now but he says she won't be fine if she uses that magic again and tells her to stay in the carriage. They can hear the turmoil from the manor. Penelope tells him that he promised her he would do whatever she wants and he counters her saying that was when her body was fine. Callisto also doesn't want to help them because of their treatment to Penelope. She tells him if she falls again he cant save her which he agrees to. She tells him she's scared too. She was scared and beat it up and ran away but Callisto followed and caught her. She remembers their conversation in the cave during the hunting competition and him telling her how he wanted to become emperor to destroy the empire. But she thinks maybe he really had a dream of being a solider who rules the empire like she did of being an archaeologist. She wants him to become a perfect emperor in a safe world. She tells him that she knows that because he'll be by her side, she'll be safe from danger. But she's looking for courage and the duke wants to save the people. Callisto tells her that he's scared every time she closes her eyes she won't wake up. He finds himself counting her breath even though he knows she's awake. He keeps seeing her face falling over and over. She realizes why he was so sensitive to her fainting. He keeps remembering when she drank the poison. She tries to assure him she'll go easy this time with her magic making him laugh. She says she doesn't need to faint if she takes the potions the wizards gave her.

3. When they arrive at the front of the mansion he tells Penelope to stay in the wagon and not use her magic and just let him handle it with force. But she's trying to find Yvonne. She spots the duke and the butler being chased by a monster. She remembers him promising to help her out if she left the house, how he offered to be her escort during the prince's birthday party and him comforting her when she cried. The butler trips causing the duke to run into him and both men fall. The mantis monster then aims to kill them and Penelope screams out a spell 'Dekina lebatium.' This magic has the benefit of wiping out large numbers of monsters in a short space of time without killing the same side. However, it doesn't classify objects as being same side so Penelope also manages to make a hole in the house. The magic forms a ball of light that melts several of the monsters. Everyone's eyes are now on her and Callisto runs back to her saying she really doesn't listen to him. Her nose is now bleeding from that magic spell and Callisto puts a handkerchief to it and tilts her head forward. He tells her potions aren't enough and she tries to assure him she's okay. The duke calls out to her as he approaches supporting the butler. He asks what was that magic and notices her wand. Callisto asks the duke if he's is invisible. The duke asks him wasn't he in the north quelling the rebels. Callisto replies saying he's not so coldblooded to not care where the runaway princess went. Penelope tries to stop the fight as she believed the duke helped her escape that day she attacked Yvonne and tells the duke that she can somehow use magic now but apologizes for damaging the house as she can't control it. She tells him she's glad she didn't arrive too late and he strokes her cheek saying he's glad she's okay. Penelope thinks about how worried she was that when she arrived at the estate, the whole Eckart family would have been completely brainwashed by Yvonne and that they might attack her like Eclise and wondered what she would do. Reynold calls out to her as he runs towards her asking if he's still drunk or did he really see her use magic with a weird magic wand. Yvonne tells them it's too early to say goodbye.

4. Penelope moves forward to confront Yvonne thinking that she still has one of the pieces. Yvonne says she thought she ran away because she was scared but now she's back. Derick's eyes are open and he stares at Penelope who notices that he is bound by something black. Penelope tells her that her brainwashing doesn't work on her. Yvonne's laughter died and she tells her it will work around her though. Derick groans and Yvonne tells her how in he past she couldn't show her how she killed her family as she always killed her first. She tells her young and strong humans have strong vitality and Derick was a particularly good prey. She leans down and strokes Derick's cheeks as he tries to struggle against his restraints unable to move. She tells her now she can see how her family died. Penelope cuts her off telling her to kill it. Whether it's dead or not it isn't her thing. Derick stares at Penelope like he can't believe what he just heard as his lips go white. Yvonne asks with a grimace was it a useless hand and drops Derick. Yvonne then says let the party begins and summons more monsters from the remains of the monsters Penelope destroyed with her magic. Callisto tells her to stay back but she casts a fire spell but despite being burnt, the monsters kept coming. She tries to use the her wind and fire spell in combination like how she defeated the kraken but one of the wizards tells her this also doesn't work and addresses her as the crown princess - which the duke hears. Callisto and the duke both tell her to stay in the wagon and run in front of her to fight the monsters.

5. Despite the monsters being cut up they're still alive and begin to stick together again and reform. Nobody notices that these reborn monsters are slowly climbing the trees and there's a long branch above Penelope's head. As one one the monsters reached the branch Yvonne cheers as she can retrieve the mirror piece. She thinks that she won't kill Penelope right away and will instead make her death the most painful and miserable. Suddenly Yvonne hears the sound of something piercing flesh. She looks down and see a sword in her side. Derick has stabbed her. She asks him "oh why brother." He feels sick and tells her she's not his sister and asks who she is. She tries to play on his guilt and tells him it's her Yvonne who was lost during the festival but Derick is no longer deceived. He tells her Yvonne was the type of child who cried from looking at flowers. He looked around the destroyed garden that their mother had handcrafted and Yvonne has cherished to the point she'd cry if a flower withered. She asks him whether he finally noticed. She tells him that the real Yvonne is long dead and says it's not enough that he her body was stolen by evil but now her brother it trying to stab her with a sword. She walks through the sword until she reaches the handle with Derick realizing she can't be human. He pulls his sword out from her and tries to swing for her neck. But at that moment the sound of crunching bone and digging into flesh was heard. Derick looked down to see her hand in his left chest. She digs her hand in deeper and blood flows from his mouth and he drops his sword. She asks how Penelope will react to seeing her burst his heart like this. She feels agitated seeing a knowledgeable man like him being swept away by a name. She finds it pleasant to deceive him but it's also unpleasant because the reasons he is deceived is no longer because of her as in the past. (ok can't guarantee the next bit is 100% accurately) Are you still a brother and should you ask? or would you be pitied if you died? otherwise, are you disgusting? You, who drove his younger sister to suicide at the ceremony. how terrible the truth would be if you loved her and broke the brainwashing. Little sister.. Whenever you think of Penelope you feel so angry like a dog you don't even realize you love her. As she says all this Derick is begging her to stop. She then tells him it's time to rest as she strokes his face. Yvonne leans forward and Derick who appears enchanted doesn't try to move. Just as her lips nearly touch his Penelope attacks her with a new spell. Yvonne just manages to avoid it by pushing Derick and defending with a monster. However, this time the monster is completely destroyed. Penelope got a magic upgrade by mixing her spells together she made multiple whirlpools which destroyed the monsters.

6. As she moves in to fight Yvonne, Yvonne summons a new earthworm monster that swallows the duke.Yvonne is now in the air on a flying monster. Yvonne tells her its better to go for a more meaningful hostage and tells her if she wants her father alive she better give her the mirror piece. At that moment her heart fell but she tried to hide it. She tells her to kill it as she just needs to kill Yvonne anyway which made Reynold give her a severe face. Yvonne tells her there isn't only one hostage and tells her she has the maid left with Vinter. She tells her the sooner she makes her mind up as she's going to use them as food. As she leaves, Penelope also sees that she has taken the masked children hostage too. Reynold tells her to stand up as Eckarts don't kneel and it isn't her fault. He tells her no one is dead yet. Reynold takes charge with Callisto under his direction and the injured are moved and the estate cleaned up. She notices Derick on a stretcher and realizes he isn't dead. As they pass her he reaches out and grabs her wrist. He tries to give her a necklace that closely resembles the one Penelope was accused of stealing in the past. He tells her if she rubs the diamond 3 times it'll teleport her anywhere on the street regardless of the distance. She asks why he is giving this to her and remembers hid desperate cry about how she would smile if he gave her a gift. She thinks its his messy feelings for the girl who stole his sisters place. She knows he's a patient right now but asks him what he thought would change by giving her this. There was a time she thought it was his way of improving their relationship but that was an illusion. She was sentenced without even having the ability to accept the gift. She asks whether he thought if he gave her a gem or an expensive luxury she would forget everything. All the shame and insult he gave her. She tells him now whenever she receives a gift from him she's scared of what hell he is going to drop her into next time. So she won't accept his gift. Because she doesn't need anything from him. He struggles to speak and tells her he knows that nothing will be forgiven. As he tries to speak again he begins to cough blood. She tries to order the servants to take him to the mansion. He still doesn't let go and tells her its dangerous outside the mansion. If she's out of reach of his eyes and swords and something happened whilst she was away from home, he thought of the best way to avoid that position and so he had the necklace made and begs her to accept it. When she rejects it again, Callisto pulls her by the waist and tells Derick that her fiance will take care of her. Derick's body shakes again from blood loss and his arm falls and there's no movement. He is carried back to the house.

Thanks for the spoilers! Derrick has finally woken up. Well, still more suffering for him and again, he's finally off from the brainwashing AND got heavily rejected just now so again, no bad words from me.
I know Reynalt's drunkeness is kinda a sad thing but reading these lines make me feel like once this gets adapted, it could be a meme. I mean, the guy WHILE drunk has accomplished a lot more than what we expected. He deduces the truth of the poison incident on his own, monsters are suddenly being summoned left and right that pushes him to become a little bit sober, seeing Penelope again and he STILL gets one drunk like line, gets their father kidnapped and he steps up as the head of the household.

1. Penelope and Callisto arrive at the north gate of the city late at night accompanied by 1 wizard and 6 escorts. Callisto tries to delay Penelope going to the Eckart estate until daylight but Penelope is insistent. He didn't like her idea of heading straight to the duke's and attacking Yvonne. Ever since she fainted after fighting Eclise and the monsters, the prince began to treat her like a feather that was about to blow away. When she first opened her eyes, Cedric looked exhausted. Callisto also refuses to go back to the north as no one would be there to take care of her if she faints again. She thinks that the systems warning about using the magic wasn't a exaggeration. After the spell ended, all the strength left her body and she slept for 3 days worrying Callisto. She doesn't know how many it'll take to defeat Yvonne and it's troubling if she faints every time. the wizards had given her a total of 5 health potions to use.

2. As they arrive at the estate, they realize there are no gatekeepers and the ground begins to vibrate and they hear cries in the distance. Penelope realizes that Yvonne has revealed her identity and Callisto tries to convince her to go to the imperial palace instead as there's likely more than one monster. She refuses saying she'll go herself and he tells her she's not going anywhere with that body. She tries to tell him she's fine now but he says she won't be fine if she uses that magic again and tells her to stay in the carriage. They can hear the turmoil from the manor. Penelope tells him that he promised her he would do whatever she wants and he counters her saying that was when her body was fine. Callisto also doesn't want to help them because of their treatment to Penelope. She tells him if she falls again he cant save her which he agrees to. She tells him she's scared too. She was scared and beat it up and ran away but Callisto followed and caught her. She remembers their conversation in the cave during the hunting competition and him telling her how he wanted to become emperor to destroy the empire. But she thinks maybe he really had a dream of being a solider who rules the empire like she did of being an archaeologist. She wants him to become a perfect emperor in a safe world. She tells him that she knows that because he'll be by her side, she'll be safe from danger. But she's looking for courage and the duke wants to save the people. Callisto tells her that he's scared every time she closes her eyes she won't wake up. He finds himself counting her breath even though he knows she's awake. He keeps seeing her face falling over and over. She realizes why he was so sensitive to her fainting. He keeps remembering when she drank the poison. She tries to assure him she'll go easy this time with her magic making him laugh. She says she doesn't need to faint if she takes the potions the wizards gave her.

3. When they arrive at the front of the mansion he tells Penelope to stay in the wagon and not use her magic and just let him handle it with force. But she's trying to find Yvonne. She spots the duke and the butler being chased by a monster. She remembers him promising to help her out if she left the house, how he offered to be her escort during the prince's birthday party and him comforting her when she cried. The butler trips causing the duke to run into him and both men fall. The mantis monster then aims to kill them and Penelope screams out a spell 'Dekina lebatium.' This magic has the benefit of wiping out large numbers of monsters in a short space of time without killing the same side. However, it doesn't classify objects as being same side so Penelope also manages to make a hole in the house. The magic forms a ball of light that melts several of the monsters. Everyone's eyes are now on her and Callisto runs back to her saying she really doesn't listen to him. Her nose is now bleeding from that magic spell and Callisto puts a handkerchief to it and tilts her head forward. He tells her potions aren't enough and she tries to assure him she's okay. The duke calls out to her as he approaches supporting the butler. He asks what was that magic and notices her wand. Callisto asks the duke if he's is invisible. The duke asks him wasn't he in the north quelling the rebels. Callisto replies saying he's not so coldblooded to not care where the runaway princess went. Penelope tries to stop the fight as she believed the duke helped her escape that day she attacked Yvonne and tells the duke that she can somehow use magic now but apologizes for damaging the house as she can't control it. She tells him she's glad she didn't arrive too late and he strokes her cheek saying he's glad she's okay. Penelope thinks about how worried she was that when she arrived at the estate, the whole Eckart family would have been completely brainwashed by Yvonne and that they might attack her like Eclise and wondered what she would do. Reynold calls out to her as he runs towards her asking if he's still drunk or did he really see her use magic with a weird magic wand. Yvonne tells them it's too early to say goodbye.

4. Penelope moves forward to confront Yvonne thinking that she still has one of the pieces. Yvonne says she thought she ran away because she was scared but now she's back. Derick's eyes are open and he stares at Penelope who notices that he is bound by something black. Penelope tells her that her brainwashing doesn't work on her. Yvonne's laughter died and she tells her it will work around her though. Derick groans and Yvonne tells her how in he past she couldn't show her how she killed her family as she always killed her first. She tells her young and strong humans have strong vitality and Derick was a particularly good prey. She leans down and strokes Derick's cheeks as he tries to struggle against his restraints unable to move. She tells her now she can see how her family died. Penelope cuts her off telling her to kill it. Whether it's dead or not it isn't her thing. Derick stares at Penelope like he can't believe what he just heard as his lips go white. Yvonne asks with a grimace was it a useless hand and drops Derick. Yvonne then says let the party begins and summons more monsters from the remains of the monsters Penelope destroyed with her magic. Callisto tells her to stay back but she casts a fire spell but despite being burnt, the monsters kept coming. She tries to use the her wind and fire spell in combination like how she defeated the kraken but one of the wizards tells her this also doesn't work and addresses her as the crown princess - which the duke hears. Callisto and the duke both tell her to stay in the wagon and run in front of her to fight the monsters.

5. Despite the monsters being cut up they're still alive and begin to stick together again and reform. Nobody notices that these reborn monsters are slowly climbing the trees and there's a long branch above Penelope's head. As one one the monsters reached the branch Yvonne cheers as she can retrieve the mirror piece. She thinks that she won't kill Penelope right away and will instead make her death the most painful and miserable. Suddenly Yvonne hears the sound of something piercing flesh. She looks down and see a sword in her side. Derick has stabbed her. She asks him "oh why brother." He feels sick and tells her she's not his sister and asks who she is. She tries to play on his guilt and tells him it's her Yvonne who was lost during the festival but Derick is no longer deceived. He tells her Yvonne was the type of child who cried from looking at flowers. He looked around the destroyed garden that their mother had handcrafted and Yvonne has cherished to the point she'd cry if a flower withered. She asks him whether he finally noticed. She tells him that the real Yvonne is long dead and says it's not enough that he her body was stolen by evil but now her brother it trying to stab her with a sword. She walks through the sword until she reaches the handle with Derick realizing she can't be human. He pulls his sword out from her and tries to swing for her neck. But at that moment the sound of crunching bone and digging into flesh was heard. Derick looked down to see her hand in his left chest. She digs her hand in deeper and blood flows from his mouth and he drops his sword. She asks how Penelope will react to seeing her burst his heart like this. She feels agitated seeing a knowledgeable man like him being swept away by a name. She finds it pleasant to deceive him but it's also unpleasant because the reasons he is deceived is no longer because of her as in the past. (ok can't guarantee the next bit is 100% accurately) Are you still a brother and should you ask? or would you be pitied if you died? otherwise, are you disgusting? You, who drove his younger sister to suicide at the ceremony. how terrible the truth would be if you loved her and broke the brainwashing. Little sister.. Whenever you think of Penelope you feel so angry like a dog you don't even realize you love her. As she says all this Derick is begging her to stop. She then tells him it's time to rest as she strokes his face. Yvonne leans forward and Derick who appears enchanted doesn't try to move. Just as her lips nearly touch his Penelope attacks her with a new spell. Yvonne just manages to avoid it by pushing Derick and defending with a monster. However, this time the monster is completely destroyed. Penelope got a magic upgrade by mixing her spells together she made multiple whirlpools which destroyed the monsters.

6. As she moves in to fight Yvonne, Yvonne summons a new earthworm monster that swallows the duke.Yvonne is now in the air on a flying monster. Yvonne tells her its better to go for a more meaningful hostage and tells her if she wants her father alive she better give her the mirror piece. At that moment her heart fell but she tried to hide it. She tells her to kill it as she just needs to kill Yvonne anyway which made Reynold give her a severe face. Yvonne tells her there isn't only one hostage and tells her she has the maid left with Vinter. She tells her the sooner she makes her mind up as she's going to use them as food. As she leaves, Penelope also sees that she has taken the masked children hostage too. Reynold tells her to stand up as Eckarts don't kneel and it isn't her fault. He tells her no one is dead yet. Reynold takes charge with Callisto under his direction and the injured are moved and the estate cleaned up. She notices Derick on a stretcher and realizes he isn't dead. As they pass her he reaches out and grabs her wrist. He tries to give her a necklace that closely resembles the one Penelope was accused of stealing in the past. He tells her if she rubs the diamond 3 times it'll teleport her anywhere on the street regardless of the distance. She asks why he is giving this to her and remembers hid desperate cry about how she would smile if he gave her a gift. She thinks its his messy feelings for the girl who stole his sisters place. She knows he's a patient right now but asks him what he thought would change by giving her this. There was a time she thought it was his way of improving their relationship but that was an illusion. She was sentenced without even having the ability to accept the gift. She asks whether he thought if he gave her a gem or an expensive luxury she would forget everything. All the shame and insult he gave her. She tells him now whenever she receives a gift from him she's scared of what hell he is going to drop her into next time. So she won't accept his gift. Because she doesn't need anything from him. He struggles to speak and tells her he knows that nothing will be forgiven. As he tries to speak again he begins to cough blood. She tries to order the servants to take him to the mansion. He still doesn't let go and tells her its dangerous outside the mansion. If she's out of reach of his eyes and swords and something happened whilst she was away from home, he thought of the best way to avoid that position and so he had the necklace made and begs her to accept it. When she rejects it again, Callisto pulls her by the waist and tells Derick that her fiance will take care of her. Derick's body shakes again from blood loss and his arm falls and there's no movement. He is carried back to the house.

So.. The duke is taken as hostage now?
I'm curious about duke's expression when the wizard called Penelope as 'crown princess'

I agree. I feel like it didn't show how much dangerous Eclise really is,which is the real reason why Penelope is so scared of him. It's also due to her previous meeting with the prince, but not only that. I noticed before that the manhwa changed a few things. For example, in the novel, when Callisto first appears, he kills in front of everyone the assassin his brother sent him, slicing his neck. This didn't happen in the manhwa. Maybe the author wants to ease the darkest part(?) don't know, though, I admit I wanted to see so much Eclise "little psyco killer" part. Maybe it will be showed better in the future, perhaps in the scene where he almost kills Penny with the wooden sword
