Holy shit omg the story was so much deeper!!! My goodness I need moar!

 

There's one question I've always had: why does it take her NOT trying for her family members to start actually caring for her?

I'm thinking that they act annoyed/cold with her as a default because of their own issues but deep down genuinely care for her, however buried it is. Maybe the reason why they're so swayed when she stops vying for their attention is that they don't realize just how bad their sometimes-sour-sometimes-sweet demeanor is on Penelope.

Perhaps they don't realize how their own actions and the way they respond to her essentially kafkatraps her into scenarios where she just can't win. For example, she mentioned if she made a fuss about the maids they wouldn't believe her and she'd be seen as an annoyance, then in comes her brother later on questioning why she didn't air her grievances even when we know it wouldn't have worked.

When you said "Derrek finally accepted his feelings and opened up to Penelope but it was too late", what do you mean by that? Do you mean that Penelope's so estranged from him at that point that he can't salvage their relationship, or is it something else?

 

i think what she meant is penelope already with crown prince when derreck finally realises his feeling..

The step brothers and step father all cared for her , it was just her assumption that they didn’t . She had a lot of misunderstandings , regarding how they made others bully her which was quite the contrary . They get cleared in the end , however she chooses to live in this world as she fell in love with the prince.

sweetest guard . However his end , that is he died , is considered to be his salvation as he couldn’t see her being with anyone else . He always wondered why isn’t she in love with him . And he couldn’t see her and the together. Penelope didn’t love him and he couldn’t handle her not being in love with him and watch her with someone else . He died for her in the end .

the prince has lead a hard life and is one of the most romantic MLs . He gradually falls in love with her and is intrigued by her . There were a lot of instances , and it was a gradual growing interest developing into fondness and then love
