So one of my all-time favourite novels is Legend of the Great Saint that I read somewhere years ago and recently got picked up again here: https://justatranslatortranslations.com/lgs/
    (It's great, highly recommended)

Last I heard about the author, they put the novel in indefinite hiatus since 2017 which is quite sad.
The recent translation made me look for the raw again to see that it's... just gone?
Like, the previous link to the raw novel which you can find in other treads in this forum are: http://book.qidian.com/info/1890269 , but nothing's there.

A search in the waybackmachine shows that the last chapter was indeed in 2017 and it was quite popular:
    https://web.archive.org/web/20170731122959/http://book.qidian.com/info/1890269 .

If you go to the author's page, they also have no works listed but on the waybackmachine it shows 3 novels:
    https://web.archive.org/web/20170814062802/http://my.qidian.com/author/4362686.

Seems strange that they just deleted all of their novels and hard effort and makes me quite sad that this novel will never get an ending.
Does anyone know what happened to the author or what the situation is?

Last update 7th of may. And it is updated monthly. You will not be able to read it on the website anymore. You will need to download qidian mobile app. It is still there.

What? Are you serious? That's actually such wonderful news to me! I couldn't read the story knowing that the story would end suddenly with no pay off--thank you!

Thanks you for reminding me this book. I used to read it, and liked it a lot. I think I will have to read it again when I have time. Most books that were removed from the webpage can still be found in qidian app, it is a method that qidian used to protect author from censorship at the moment.

How would putting their works in the app help them with avoiding censorship?

No one check apps, at least, not at the moment. But authority doesn't like to see it on the web page. The reason why I say at the moment is because it takes time to update policy.

What did the author do that makes the authority want to fuck him over.
