Question Demon Hunter Domain Path

    I started reading Demon Hunter this week and it was great. Author clearly works hard for his novel but main character is like he is too weak.
    I just want to ask a question is he always going to be like this ? I'm at the 2nd book and he just invests his evolution points to perception domain. At first I thought since perception domain increases his shooting range it's good but it doesn't increase at all and he just keeps fighting with his knife.

    last chapters, he defeated a massive robot army and singlehandly breach into a spaceship

    probably only a tenth. will he get something tangible from perception domain ? or is it just going to stay always the same an auxiliary path ?

    do you consider, knowing everything happening in a 200 km radius around him (including spatial faults), and use that information to predict the future and actions of his opponents something tangible?
