So far i only know one eating style that very similar to indonesian and malaysian people way of eating is bibimbap in asian and burger in western So have you ever eat in this style ( you add everything you eat in one plate or bowl and mix it up ) because so far i see another country way of eating is separate their carbo, vegetables, and protein in different plate and also eat it separately like you eat one spoon of rice swallow and the eat vegetables, swallow, and then eat the meat then swallow it, never you mix them together then eat it in one big bite
Italy: mix any ingredients then put on pizza. Idem pasta Spain: paella- rice with veg and sea food. Other mixes exist too Turkey: kebab. Mix, mix, mix. Cesar salad: chicken, cheese, sauce, veg, bread croutons. Tuna salad, other salads, all sorts of ingredients Eastern Europe/ Russia: soup. All sorts all mixes. Western Europe: whole bunch of local “national” foods, most of which include a mix of at least 5 different ingredients in one plate.
I don't mention because so far from what i i see in movies they don't mix or put everything together and eat it but only mix one dish into a nan bread either by dip the bread or fill the bread
Thanks for the info, so far my information only from movies or restaurant that i visit, And my friends told me unlike Indonesian food where you can mix everything you order into one, you must eat the food served as how it served to you no additional spice or sauces because it's not how they do
The thing is, those ingredients are mixed to make one dish. While these are mixes of several different dishes into one plate.
Like you even need to care for that, i always mix all that i can mix and eat, that way it's simply testy.
You can also find that style in Philippines... Mostly in fiesta or in birthday parties in the province
I read the title of the thread as "Do you eat with style?" Of course I do, I am the most stylish of eaters.
Have you been to a buffet/open buffet, alot of people would mix their food there, so it is not just country related
I'm an Indonesian, so yeah such dish & way of eating does exist here esp in a party/bowl (in such occasion, the main dishes are usually put in several heated container on a long table, you queue, pick your plate, fork & spoon, pick the rice & put the dishes you want to eat, all on the same plate). There are also some local/traditional small eatery & restaurant operating in such way Also, I think food like Chinese hot pot dish or perhaps Japanese rice bowl are more/less similar in that way?
Fried rice? Actually I mix plenty of stuff with my rice even if it's not fried. Peas, corn, bacon, egg, tomato, beef, curry, pretty much anything that goes with it. Mix in a bowl and poof you can easily your meal with a spoon.
Well I was thinking that I can eat tomato separately. Or sausage separately. But mix them together you can get Diabolo pizza toppings. But yeah, in any case in my family we tend to put any dish on the table mix in each plate. But that’s usually for “social” meals. Otherwise it’s usually like mix salad and a piece of fish/chicken/meat on the plate. But still a mix, I guess...
