Discussion Difference between Evil and Vile

Most people tend to get confused between these two...

To be honest even though I ponder on thses two daily, it is quite hard to properly tell the difference.

This is my conclusion

Evil : Doing things as one like and accomplishing what one desire at any cost.
Vile : One who seek enjoyment purely through torment of others(that have no relation to one) and one who does not possess a shred of sincerity. For example rape and ruining other's life/future through pure jealousy without benefits to gain from and betraying the benefiter without any repayment or guilt for one own benefit..

What are your thoughts?

While vile is a word birth from it... It tend to describe things that are truly nasty and really really bad...

 

I didn't use a dictionary tho... I just realized that they were anagrams
Moreover I think evil is just evil while vile is evil with something disgusting

 

Yes but if you truly rhink abt it... there are quite some differences

 

Vomit is vile but not evil.
Vile tends to mean disgusting or repugnant. Evil tends to be about morality. They can be overlaps but I don't think they're that interchangable

 

not quite. while vile fits, evil is more like Doing things as one like and accomplishing what one desire at any cost and without any regards to what may happen to others and not bound by any laws, nothing is to extreme to get what i want.

 

From what I see, I view evil more of being indifferent... but there are sincerity but being vile is like without any sincerity.

another deep question will be: what is the difference between good and evil? what characteristics have each one?... the good is good only because the majority approves it... and evil is the abstinence of good (or well the contrary of good)...

 

One of the words describes Chu Feng, while the other one describes Gu Yu Fang Yuan. Which one is which, is an exercise best left to the reader.

But what is perversion? Being invasive? Or something more?

 

Vile to me sounds like a person that ruin others happiness and livelihood by used of immoral means, Evil is like world domination or killings/terrorist.

 

That definition of evil isn't what I would define it by. If I want to be successful and don't care who I hurt or betray, while that isn't good it isn't necessarily evil. It'll depend on the scale and the circumstances of course, but just being cutthroat isn't 100% evil.

 

Following and living only by sincerity(I think I miss spell) tends to be the good path ( as in being considerate about others and tends to have little desire or takes the path that would harm others the least)

 

Isn't this just hot-boiled MC passionate about achieving their dream

 

Good and Evil are just different perspectives while Vile is something from both perspectives that can be deemed disgusting.

 

From what I believe... there is 3 seprate virtue or atleast 3 .
Being sincere and appreciative
Being indifference
Being vile( not really sure it can be even consider a virtue though..)

 

indeed but that is only in our "society/community" for example in the tribes of old it was (relatively speaking) normal to have more than one wife and that was good it was strange to have only one... in all cultivation novels for some reason everything is only like an underground organization... "the elder of the outer sect is my uncle so i receive better supplements" (comes MC and ends up cripple him..) and all of that kind of stuff and is "good" and is bad when the MC reports to the sect master and in the end the MC ended up doing the same.....
