I stopped reading DMWG for a while to build up chapters, but I've just started reading again and I keep seeing the term "Genii" being used , but I can't remember what it means. Can anyone tell me what the hell is a genii?
Nope. I'm reading chapter 74 right now and they've used it quite a few times. Genii among Genii? I don't get it
I think genii is the plural of Genie. According to google, standard plural for genius is geniuses, genii is a lesser used one (and one that shouldn't be used). http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/genius Genii shouldn't be used because the original latin meaning of Genius is where we get words like genome/genes etc. So since it has changed so much it should just use the standard English pluralization, instead of attempting to still use the Latin.
From chapter 74: Most genii in the Qi Province were attracted into one of the four big sects, so there’s no way for those ordinary people who participate in the Qi Province competition to compare with the genii from the four big sects
You sure it's Genii and not Guan Yi? Im at the most recent chapters and Guan Yi Yun is the one who gets mentioned a lot that is even clos to genii
a terrible use of latin on the word genius plural form of genius isnt genii kapparently it is..... still it sounds terrible
Genii (also genies), a plural form of genie, which is an alternate spelling of jinnī (pl. jinn), are supernatural creatures in Arab folklore and Islamic teachings. .[1] Genii may also refer to: Genii (magazine), a magic periodical Genii (mythology), guardian spirits in Roman mythology Genii (Stargate), a human culture in the television program Stargate Atlantis Genii Capital, a Luxembourg-based investment firm
I've just looked through chapter 74. All of the "genii" have been corrected to geniuses. http://www.radianttranslations.com/dragon-marked-war-god/index/dragon-marked-war-god-74/
