Discussion Does it affect you?

Do you get affected by what someone says?
I do very much TBH. A friend of mine told me that i talk in a confusing way and from then on i just became self conscious whenever i explain smth. I feel like PPL might not understand what i say. What if they think bad of me because of it etc etc. So does a person's opinion about anything about you or your behaviour affect you?

Sometimes it does, but usually for a couple of days at most cuz I'd have forgotten it afterwards.

 

I try my best to not let it effect me.
But well, it does. But much less than before

It only effects me if it's from someone close to me. If it's something that I think I need to improve, I'll try to work on it. Otherwise I'll try to shrug it off and forget about it.

 

Yeah, it’ll be on my mind constantly for a while, but I’ll forget it sooner or later. If I don’t forget it completely, it’ll simply become a cringey memory for me to reflect on.

 

I'm not even affected by reality, time and space!~ but it depends on who's saying what. Ranging from a shrug , a laugh or a panic attack.

 

It highly depends on that "someone" if some guy on the internet calls me whatever than that does nothing but pique my curiosity for their reasons but what friends and family say usually goes much nearer or even right through the heart. So I'll have to answer with both yes and no. Yo ~~

Yes, it does. There are things that people say that bother me for years, even decades. I try not to let the stuff random people say hurt me, but it takes a few days to shake off, and I still don’t really forget it.

 

Not really I stopped caring about what people think of me a while ago, if they don't like me they can just f off

 

Nowadays most of the internet is pretty tame with a few exceptions. But in the good ol days, insults of all kinds flew everywhere your gaze fell upon. You somewhat got used to it pretty quickly. There's like this filter that completely isolates you from paying attention to anything that comes out of your own mouth, or is aimed at you. Its kinda scary how easily you can get conditioned to such practices.

 

Unless it's constructive criticism with no ill intent behind it I honestly don't really care.

 

Yes~ I try to change behavior and such to accomodate my surroundings too.

When people make offhand comments like that, it makes a deep impression on me >.<

To some extent, yes.

I can shrug plenty of things people say off, but some things just trigger the right switch and affect me really easily... Personal attacks in particular are hard for me to ignore.

 

Not that much... Although I do get affected by them, but that happens rarely as most of the times I can ignore them.....
