I'm really curious what people usually do when someone knocks on the door, especially so if they live alone or something. I feel like most people today would grab a baseball bat or pull out a gun, and then say, "Who's there?" I personally would just ask who it is and let them in, but, this one time I was visting my friend's house, and when he opened the door he was holding a metal bat (like wtf), and casually greeted me like nothing was wrong. It scared the crap out of me and he said, "To protect myself". So what would you do if someone knocked on your door?
I usually check the eye-hole thingy or from a side window. If they dress appropriately and not dressed as if they were going to murder me and my family in cold-blood and bathe in the flesh of our corpses, I open the door.
No need to use human weapons. My claws are enough. Seriously usually dont open the door even someone knocks. I need them to shout their names so that i can verify even without looking. Well if someone knocks after 11pm i usually arm myself with a butcher knife.
Well, I would peek at the window near the door, greet them, talk politely and ask what's their intention. Looks like maybe your friend is a bit paranoid. Despite the peoples nowadays, there's so much asshole peoples that I do agree with that fact, but there's so much more nice peoples out there too. So it would be better to spread the love, instead of hate
I look through the windows to check who they are. If I don't know them, I get an axe then call politely outloud to identify themselves. If they answer suspiciously or don't answer at all, I call emergency services before opening the door with axe in tow.
My door have that lock and chain thingy. Plus there's a peep hole to see who's on the other side. Safety first. I don't trust anyone that i'm not familiar with knocking on my door.
I lived in a small county that required gun ownership to own property. People left their doors unlocked 24/7. It was near a city, and the theft stemmed from it into our suburb. That is until they made the local gun ownership law. Theft dried up pretty quickly. It wasn't until I moved to LA, that I realized how Fed up things can be. And LA is nice compared to many places.
not opening. If my friend comes, they must message me first, or I'm not opening. Other people I don't care.
Look through the peep hole to make sure it's not someone I don't know or like. Or random charity person. Then I'll open the door~
