Man , you guys need to read the updated Dungeon defense
It is epic plot twist
Not just because he is demon so he wants to save demonkind. It is because when all of the Demon Lords dies, the mana of the world will be chaotic and destroy the world. It was explained in V1-C1. Here is a quote;
This was why when the "Magical Voice" which bringed him into this world asked this [If it were you, could you change the ending?], he said "Yes" and that was why he transported to that world. To change that ending of destruction that will come when the Hero kills all 72 Demon Lords.
As great as always, no this chap is more great I think
Just finished binge reading it...
it was a nice change of pace and was enjoyable
havent read a novel like that in awhile
Thank you ! It had been so long, I forgot that passage.
So the comedy troupe has been assembled? I think it's going to be pretty entertaining to see this 'working relationship' between Paimon and Barbatos while Dantalian gets pushed around in the middle of the two. Test of relationship development for the author but we'll see how it goes. Want to see how Farnese will go now that the shackles are off although I don't know if it's a worrisome sign that I feel bad for a psychopathic trophy collector.
Hopefully the purge is going to be cool. While the author can appropriately write some pretty crude bits and pieces, they can also seem to write some pretty nice dramatic scenes.
The author is really good at presenting his characters in a way that you dislike them to begin with but once you understand the character better, you can't help but see that the character's previous actions/motives make complete sense. Oh Paimon, how you go from naive and distasteful to a calculating trickster/temptress.
On a side note I can't help but imagine the purge as Farnese plays the piano supported by the death throes of the traitors choir that is the audience: yelling and screaming; steel swinging, heads flying. All to Farnese's tune.
I can't wait!
Not just demonkind, he wants to save the world.
I agree with that, I've almost fallen to Paimon;s act, but still can't help but feel pity in barbatos' maiden heart that got shattered.
Thats basically what i said. I don't understand why did you replied like that.
I thought you're implying it's for the demons.
Seems that Dantalian brought the two demon lords closer with that nice ending/intermission.
Will be interesting to see if they have to do a bigger purge on their own side before they can advance further or not. Seems likely they have to consolidate their current gains and come to an accommodation with the the high ranking Demons, either by diplomacy or extended diplomacy (war).
This is the magnum opus of all light novels.
Blood for Authority—Authority for Blood.
Isn't this a testament to the Author's literary prowess? I hope I can make characters similarly feel sympathy for and care for my even edgier characters.
It's more like: it would be troublesome if the world was destroyed; I live in it after all.
Since I'm already doing it, I might as well take the highest seat.
Dantalian strikes me as the character that thinks like this.
I write a character who thinks like that; among others, how personality was based on Dantalian.
They can't purge the high ranking demons. Furthermore, another purge is ill advised; they still need soldiers and commanders to fight a war.
The best thing they can do, is to turn them. Through fear, greed or both, they should draw them to their faction.
What's still bothering me after all this time: What happened to the golem and slime he summoned in the tutorial? Did they have a time limit on them, or something? Are they still obediently in the cave, waiting for his return???? This is very important stuff.
This series would be completely different if he had gone through the "solve all my problems by summoning monsters with my giant bags of money" route.
He gives up being a walking death machine, for the ability to peek at how much people like him. But he never uses it. And it never makes a difference.
Name one time it matters, anyone. One time he was going to do something one way, but sees the Affection Number and changes his mind.
I can understand why the author wouldn't want to use Vidya Game elements to impact his story. It's just weird they're there in the beginning and promptly get dropped forever. It's a bait and switch, I tells ya.
I have a feeling he sent them off to do some dirty deeds behind the scenes.
Maybe they died when his castle was attacked
the golem and slime was part of the tutorial, in the tutorial, he was given a lot of abilities, map function skill, summoning skill, seeing the feelings skill and more, after the tutorial he can only choose one skill, the feelings skill or him seeing the likability meter is the one he chose
