i like his methods too. since he knows that people with different talents will get different results from normal, more standard teaching, he seems to slowly individualize everything. Helping the students understand their flaws and gain insights from him beating them is a good way to do that.
Spoiler: Demons I'm going to have to raise the issue again about the use of demon for the word 妖, simply because later on you also would encounter actual demonkin (魔). In fact, Li Qi Ye's body was originally kept in the Demon-god Cave, where there's actual demons. In the context it's being used here, it's more in line with the term spirit. Similarly, 鬼 should probably be translated as "monster" when it's used as a species term in this story. Parth Edit: USE THE SPOILER
first thing I thought of was the mac loading wheel with varying shades of red... a water wheel is probably better
I'm curious.. it's confirmed that it's a harem novel? I ask it because there don't have the "harem" tag
Spoiler: Romance He gets a lot of female companions, but there's not a lot of romance going on. He really has high standards for his women, so that's one of the factors why he doesn't just pick up girls left and right (outside of getting them to be his servants and generals). Parth Edit: please use spoiler function.
I am really looking forward to that Serpent Stick being used on Leng Shi Zhi to it's fullest potential. That whole "can beat forever without killing" will come in real handy soon.
Spoiler: Power levels Unfortunately, since power levels scales up rather quickly, it won't stay in play for long. Plus, Li Qi Ye's attitude is "out of my way bitch, or it's death without mercy," so usually he doesn't care to use it anyways. Parth Edit: please use spoiler function.
Hell yeah, I can't help but picture a water wheel everytime they talk about it. I don't think that would happen, I think that instead of using the stick, if he even bothers making his move against leng shi zhi, he would just kill him and be over with it
Is this story just one giant uphill battle? It seems like every chapter someone is trying to screw Li Qi Yi over and ends up being steamrolled.. only to have someone else pop up in the next chapter and get steam rolled again... and again... and again. I'm really hoping that second punk-ass Elder Cao get stomped flat sooner rather than later. I would really rather not have to read about his pitiful attempts to thwart LQY in the next 20 or 30 chapters.
After reading the latest chapter I am just waiting to see LQY beat all those stupid protectors with his stick.
He should have brought one of those giant statues back with him and got the question of who's in charge out of the way. Just "We're doing things my way from now on, if you've got a problem with it, come up and I'll kill you" rather than letting all this pointless back room dealing go about. Better to just cleanse the sect and start over, he doesn't need any of these people anyway. He can just raise another generation of disciples, give 'em 10 years and they'll be better than the last batch.
I don't think he considers these guys as worthy to use the four Heavenly Guardians. Also it seems like he just wants to rebuild while maintaining some secrecy.
the one minor annoyance im having with this series is how his physique's characteristic is weight wouldn't that get to a point where he just constantly sinks into the ground? could he even go up a floor without destroying the entire building?
I imagine he's able to control it, activate or deactivate it when necessary. Otherwise he would just sink towards the world's core no matter what he was standing on. It must be a physique where he can suddenly make his body weigh a million pounds or something; mid-kick, that would be pretty devastating.
