    en.quidan is coming out for early access in spring, how might this change the current translation community?

    depends, are they going to "take" novels that are already being translated and become another yen press? or will they let the current translators join them and just host the new TL on the site?


    I'm more interested in the fact that they're actually paying translators (and probably editors too)

    If they allow the current translations to continue then it will be a major improvement compared to other groups. If they start everything from scratch it will honestly be pointless.

    i personally doesn't care, if it's free I will maybe try it . But if it's not free I will gladly stop reading it just like all Japanese light novel that got DMCA.

    And they can '' take '' whatever they want when the original novel belongs to them.

    It might have little effect it may have a huge effect. Most translated stories are almost exclusively from qidian. If qidian wants translators to shut down their websites and host on their site, will they?
