Recommendations Episodic novel or short stories LN & WN

Any Episodic or short stories light novel & web novel ?
i prefer fantasy and slice of life.

 

Do you care about subject matter? Because otherwise that is pretty broad. There are a lot of short stories here, and episodic.... I almost feel like a lot of Japanese seem to write in a semi-episodic style already XD Maybe Kumo desuga, nani ka?

Kino no Tabi is a pretty obvious one here. Volume 1 isn’t fully translated yet, but it’s fine to skip it for now.

Volume one is licensed so it hasn't been fan translated for years, though I believe one of the translators put up a summary of the first volume.

 

The Story of a Macaron-Loving Girl Who Lived a Thousand Years Somehow. - a series of short stories, The title describes the first chapter the rest are different stories.

Semi Datte Tensei Sureba Ryuu Ni Naru - a relatively short story about a cicada reincarnating into a dragon; ( I Highly recomend it)

Manuscript Screening Boy and Manuscript Submitting Girl - a single volume LN, that is slice of life

...I’d like to pretend that Tokyopop release doesn’t exist, because it’s more of a fanfiction than a translation. And the summary on Baka-Tsuki was more or less a summary of the Tokyopop release.

The first Volume recently got a fan translation, but so far only for the first half and the epilogue chapter.

 

Ohh it's been so long I can't recall if I knew the translation was terrible.. It's really unfortunate when the official translation is terrible but they hold the license so T_T
I should probably check the fan translation out-- I'm not sure if I was aware of it or not since the last thing I read was untuned-string's retranslation of a couple volumes

Those are all short stories, first is slice of life romance with some fantasy elemets, second is fantasy romace with a dash of comedy, the third is fantasy comedy about some random villager and his childhood friend, the directionally challenged hero.

 

Not terrible per se, but the Tokyopop version added a lot of details and scenes that weren’t in the original Japanese text, and the characters’ personalities were changed enough for me to notice.

I just realized you're the translator for volume 1? I'll definitely check it out, thanks for your hard work.

 

I am, yeah. I just don't really want to mention it because it's a licensed work, and my releases are pretty slow and irregular.
